Earl Stonham is a small village and civil parish (formerly called Stonham Earl) in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. It is between the A14 and A140 5 miles to the east of Stowmarket. The parish includes the hamlets of Forward Green and Middlewood Green. In 2005 its population was 650, decreasing to 629 at the 2011 Census.. The village is one of three Stonhams in the area – the other two are Stonham Aspal and Little Stonham.

Stonham Aspal is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England, some five miles (8 km) east of the town of Stowmarket. Nearby villages include Mickfield, Little Stonham and Pettaugh. Its population in 2011 was 601. The village has a primary school. It is set in farmland, but has a busy main road, A1120, running through.

Creeting St Mary is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Sandwiched between the A14 and A140 to the north of Needham Market, the parish also includes the hamlet of Creeting Bottoms. In 2005 the parish population was 710, which decreased to 697 at the 2011 Census.

Bosmere and Claydon was a hundred of Suffolk, consisting of 31,850 acres (128.9 km2).The hundred is a fertile and picturesque district varying from 8 to about 12 miles (19 km) in length and breadth. It is bounded on the south by the Borough of Ipswich and Samford Hundred, on the west by Cosford and Stow Hundreds on the north by Hartismere and Thredling Hundreds and on the east by Carlford Hundred. It falls in the Deaneries of Bosmere and Claydon in the Archdeaconry of Suffolk and Diocese of Norwich. Its clay soil has long been associated with agriculture, and is suited to grain production. It is crossed by the River Gipping which becomes the River Orwell at Ipswich on becoming an estuary. Its main settlement is the town of Needham Market. The hundred's name is taken from the parish of Claydon which falls within its bounds, and Bosmere, originally "Bosa's mere", a small lake near Needham Market in the grounds of Bosmere Hall.

Creeting St Mary Pits is a 5.4-hectare (13-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest south Creeting St Mary in Suffolk, England. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.These former quarries are the type site for the 'Creeting Sands', which are believed to be intertidal and shallow marine deposits from an early Pleistocene interglacial. It is described by Natural England as a key stratigraphic site.This site is in three areas, and there is public access to the southern one, but not to the northern ones.

Fen Alder Carr is a 1.7 hectare Local Nature Reserve south-east of Creeting St Peter in Suffolk. It is owned by Suffolk County Council.This site has diverse habitats, including open water, alder carr woodland and tall fen. There is a large rookery high in the trees, and there are other birds such as siskins, chaffinches and redpolls.There is access from Fen Lane.

Mickfield is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England. Located around five miles north-east of Stowmarket, in 2005 its population was 200.The Church of St Andrew was made redundant in the late 1970s and was allowed to fall into disrepair. The building has now been restored by the ACT (Anglia Church Trust) and is being used by the community. The small brethren gospel hall was demolished in 2009, after 104 years, on completion of the new church building, Mickfield Evangelical Church. No longer known as a brethren church, the group are now affiliated with the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches).

Creeting St Mary Windmill is a Grade II listed dovecote at Creeting St Mary, Suffolk, England which has been restored. It was originally the body of a post mill which stood elsewhere in the village.

Needham Lake is a 9.9 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Needham Market in Suffolk. It is owned and managed by Mid Suffolk District Council. It is a Regionally important geological/geomorphological site (RIGS). The lake is in former sand and gravel workings. It has diverse fauna and flora in aquatic, marsh and scrub habitats. There are grass and tarmac paths.There is access from Coddenham Road.
