Palace of Zeynalabdin Taghiyev

The National Museum of History of Azerbaijan (Azerbaijani: Milli Azərbaycan Tarixi Muzeyi) is the largest museum in Azerbaijan, located in Baku, in the former mansion of Azerbaijani oil magnate and philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. It was founded in 1920 and opened to visitors in 1921.

"Taghiyev’s Theater" (Azerbaijani: Tağıyevin teatrı) is the first theater in Baku. It was built in 1883 at the expense of the industrialist and philanthropist Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev. It staged both national plays and operas, as well as the works of the world classics. Here, in January 1908, the premiere of the first Azerbaijani national opera "Leyli and Majnun", by Uzeyir Hajibeyov, took place. The theater's building burned several times and was rebuilt anew. Since the late 1930s, the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater named after A. M. Azizbeyov, and since 1960 - the Theater of Musical Comedy in the name of Shikhali Kurbanov were located in its building. The theater's edifice was demolished in 1992, and the Azerbaijan State Musical Theater was later built in its place.

House with Atlanteans was uilt in 1900 on the basis of the project by the architect Józef Płoszko, located in 16, Yusif Mammadaliyev Street, Baku. According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan has been proclaimed it a historical and cultural monument of local significance.

House with griffins (Azerbaijani: Qrifonlu ev) is a two-storey mansion erected according to the order of B. Lazerev in 1894–1896, based on the project of the architect Iohann Wilhelmovich Edel, located at 20 Yusif Mammadaliyev Street, Baku.

The Khagani Garden (Azerbaijani: Xaqani bağı), better known as the Molokan Garden (Azerbaijani: Malakan bağı), is one of the oldest parks in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. It is small in area (0.8 hectares), and is located in the Sabail district of the city. It bears the name of the medieval Persian poet Khagani Shirvani. On the south, the garden is bounded by the Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street, on the north by the Khagani Street, on east by the Gogol Street, and on the west by the Rasul Rza Street.

The Baku Puppet Theatre (formally Azerbaijan State Puppet Theatre named after Abdulla Shaig , Azerbaijani: Abdulla Şaiq adına Azərbaycan Dövlət Kukla Teatrı) is located on Neftchiler Avenue of Baku. It was built in 1910 by Polish architect Józef Płoszko, initially as the French Renaissance "Phenomenon" movie theater.The puppets vary in size from a few centimetres to double the size of a human.

The theatre YUĞ was established in 1989 under the auspices of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre by Vagif Ibrahimoglu and Hasanaga Turabov. In 1992, the theatre got the status of ‘a state theatre’. According to its creators, the name of the theatre carries a meaning: YUĞ means ‘an old rite’. Everything, however, is more complicated as it seems because this burial ritual during which were played the scenes from the life of the deceased, symbolizes a return to the memory. The actors try reminding the spectators of what they knew, maybe even in their past lives, but just forgot. The main principle of this avant-garde theatre is the relevance of chosen topics, non-standard interpretation of familiar stories and experimenting with new forms. During its history, the Azerbaijan State Theatre YUĞ has staged more than 90 plays. The theatre's troupe participated in many international festivals. Today, the theatre YUĞ occupies a place in the theatre art of the country. It regularly stages plays by William Shakespeare, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Giovanni Boccaccio, Nikolai Gogol, Kōbō Abe, as well as Azerbaijani classical and contemporary authors. Going beyond its space, the theatre YUĞ often collaborates with theatres of different countries, while enriching its skills and influencing the culture of others. The repertoire of the theatre includes the following performances: “Unforgettable Efendi” based on the play by the national writer Ilyas Efendiyev, “Hello from Kafka” based on the novel “The Verdict” by F.Kafka, “The first act” based on the Chekhov's play “The Cherry Orchard”, “The Shadow” based on the works Y.Nil “Love Under the Elm-tress”, “Come all who….” and others. In 2014, the theatre hosted the premiere of the play “Unknown Akhundzade” staged based on the comedies of the Azerbaijani playwright and enlightener Mirza Fatali Akhundov and his philosophical treatise “The three letters of the Indian Prince Kemakud-Dowle to the Persian Prince Jalal-ud-Dowle”. Each season, the theatre offers new plays, tells us about new theatre personalities, some of whom determine the image of contemporary Azerbaijani theatre.

Azerbaijan State Theatre Museum (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Dövlət Teatr Muzeyi) named after Jafar Jabbarli reflects the professional theatre history of Azerbaijan. In 1934, the issue of establishing such a museum was raised at the Republican conference by theater workers. The museum was organized in the same year in the building of the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater. In fact, this exhibition was the foundation of a future museum. According to eyewitnesses, Jalil Mammadguluzadeh and Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev, the great writers who cut the opening ribbon of the exhibition, said: "Long live the Azerbaijani theater!" The exhibition is soon officially formalized as a Theater Department of the Azerbaijan State Museum. Finally, on the basis of the relevant department of the Azerbaijan State Museum in 1934, Azerbaijan State Theater Museum was established and Aghakarim Sharifov was appointed the director of the museum. On 25 November 1934, the solemn opening ceremony of the museum was held. Famous art figures such as Bulbul, Shovkat Mammadova, Huseyngulu Sarabski, Alexander Tuganov, Ulvi Rajab, Ismayil Hidayatzade and others attend the event.In 1935, the museum was named after Jafar Jabbarli, the great Azerbaijani playwright. In 1963, the Azerbaijan State Theatre Museum was annulled and became the Theater and Drama Department of the Azerbaijan Literature Museum named after Nizami. In 1968, the Government of the Republic made a decision on the organization of the Azerbaijan State Theater Museum named after J. Jabbarli on the basis of this department. The rooms on the 4th floor of the building of the Azerbaijan Literature Museum named after Nizami are given to the newly created museum. In these rooms, it was possible to place only the museum stock and employees. The most remarkable transformation in the history of the Azerbaijan State Theater Museum took place in 1991. After Baku branch of the central V.I.lenin Museum was given to Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, the "Museum Center" was created here, along with the State Museum of Carpet and Applied Art and the Museum of Independence of Azerbaijan, the State Theater Museum placed in this building. The Museum Center is located on the seaside Boulevard.

The Azerbaijan State Museum of History and Religion is located in Baku, Azerbaijan, which highlights religious views of primitive people who lived in ancient times. The museum is joined to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1993. 1967 - the Historical Museum of Atheism was established by the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan SSR. September 17, 1990 - The museum was renamed the State Museum of the History of Religion by decree number 414 of the Cabinet. In June 1993 the museum was temporarily transferred to the Museum Center.

The Samed Vurgun Azerbaijan State Russian Drama Theatre (Azerbaijani: Səməd Vurğun adına Azərbaycan Dövlət Rus Drama Teatrı, Russian: Азербайджанский государственный русский драматический театр имени Самеда Вургуна), is a performing arts located in Baku, Azerbaijan, that produced plays in the Russian language. The performances of the theatre are mainly from the Russian works of art and literature, and the remainder are performances from Azerbaijani and European classical writers.
