Jeffersontown Historical Museum

The Confederate Martyrs Monument at the Jeffersontown City Cemetery in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, marks where four Confederate soldiers were executed "without cause or trial". Their execution was under Order 59, created by Union General Stephen G. Burbridge, known as "Butcher Burbridge" in Kentucky, which called for the execution of four Confederate prisoners for every unarmed Union citizen killed. The total number of executions performed as a result of this order was fifty. The four soldiers commemorated on the stone were Wilson P. Lilly, Rev. Sherwood Hatley, Lindsay Duke Buckner and M. Blincoe.

Jeffersontown is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 28,474 at the 2020 census. It is a major suburb of Louisville. When the Louisville Metro government was established in 2003, Jeffersontown chose to retain its status as an independent city. It is the metro area's largest municipality outside Louisville. Locally, the city is often referred to by the abbreviated name J-town.

The school is a Career Magnet Academy with strong ties to numerous business/education partnerships within the region including the city of Jeffersontown and the Bluegrass Industrial Park community. The current principal is Jarred Durham.

Blackacre State Nature Preserve is a 271-acre (110 ha) nature preserve and historic homestead in Louisville, Kentucky. The preserve features rolling fields, streams, forests, and a homestead dating back to the 18th century. For visitors, the preserve features several farm animals including horses, goats, and cows, hiking trails, and a visitor's center in the 1844-built Presley Tyler home. Since 1981, it has been used by the Jefferson County Public Schools as the site of a continuing environmental education program. About 10,000 students visit the outdoor classroom each year. The preserve was created in 1979 when the land was given to the Office of Kentucky Nature Preserves by Judge Macauley and Mrs. Emilie Smith creating the first nature preserve in the Commonwealth's system. The Blackacre Conservancy, founded in 1983, operates the historic homestead and conducts cultural and historical programs while the Office retains ownership of the preserve and manages its natural resources. Blackacre is part of the old Moses Tyler farm, several original farm buildings remain, including the 1844 Presley Tyler home, an Appalachian-style barn and a reconstructed stone spring house. The entire 600-acre (240 ha) settlement has been named a national historic rural settlement. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Tyler Settlement Rural Historic District in 1986.The name Blackacre is used as a generic name in legal contexts, particularly in law school and on bar exams, to refer to a parcel of land. The Smith family gave the land the name Blackacre; previously it was known as Land O'Skye.

Forest Hills is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. It was formally incorporated by the state assembly in 1959. The population was 444 at the 2010 census.

Plainview is a neighborhood in the city of Jeffersontown, Kentucky and is located on the former site of the Plainview Dairy Farm. It is a Planned Unit Development which includes housing, workplaces, and shopping within a single development. Plainview is located between I-64 and Shelbyville Road east of Hurstbourne Parkway. The Plainview community has many amenities; such as the Swim & Tennis Center, where there is a swim team, with competitions throughout the year. There is also a yearly yard sale.

Hurstbourne Acres is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census, up from 1,504 at the 2000 census.

Beechland, in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, was built in 1812. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The listing included three contributing buildings.It is a two-story, three-bay, brick side hall plan house with a Flemish bond front facade, with a two-story original ell and a later one-story ell.The property included a brick smokehouse and a one-story, brick slave quarters, plus later non-contributing farm buildings.The house was moved to 8808 Stara Way, at 38°11′43″N 85°35′53″W. It previously was located at 8500 Six Mile Lane before suburb construction.

WKRD (790 kHz) is a sports formatted AM radio station in the Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area. It is owned by iHeartMedia, and is known as Sports Talk 790AM. The station is best known for being a Top 40 powerhouse in the 1960s and 1970s as WAKY. The station's studios are located in the Louisville enclave of Watterson Park and the transmitter site is in east Louisville southwest of the I-64/I-265 interchange.
