The Diocese of Dax or Acqs was a Roman Catholic ecclesiastical territory in Gascony in south-west France. According to tradition it was established in the 5th century. It was suppressed after the French Revolution, by the Concordat of 1801 between First Consul Napoleon Bonaparte and Pope Pius VII. Its territory now belongs to the Diocese of Aire and Diocese of Bayonne.

Dax (French pronunciation: [daks]; Occitan: Dacs; Basque: Akize) is a commune in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, southwestern France, sub-prefecture of the Landes department. It is known as a spa destination, specialising in mud treatment for rheumatism and similar ailments. Dax is also known for its bullfighting culture, especially during the August ferias, one of the most crowded festival events in France with 800,000 people attending over five days. It is also a market town, former bishopric and busy local centre, especially for the Chalosse area.

Dax Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Dax) is a Roman Catholic church in the town of Dax in the Landes département of France. The diocese of Dax was not restored after the French Revolution but with several others, including Aire, was added to the Diocese of Bayonne by the Concordat of 1801. In 1817 the former dioceses of Dax and of Aire were again separated from that of Bayonne and joined to form the new Diocese of Aire and Dax, of which the bishop's seat was at Aire Cathedral. In 1833 the bishop's seat was officially transferred to Dax and to Dax Cathedral. Aire Cathedral remains as a co-cathedral. Dax Cathedral is a national monument of France.

Stade Maurice Boyau is a multi-use stadium in Dax, France. It is currently used mostly for rugby union matches and is the home stadium of US Dax. Opened in 1958, it is named for World War I fighter ace and pre-war French international rugby player Maurice Boyau. The stadium is officially able to hold 7,262 people since the renovation held in 2019. It was previously officially able to hold 16,170 people.

The canton of Dax-1 is an administrative division of the Landes department, southwestern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Dax. It consists of the following communes:

The arrondissement of Dax is an arrondissement of France in the Landes department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. It has 152 communes. Its population is 224,716 (2016), and its area is 3,194.2 km2 (1,233.3 sq mi).

Dax station is a railway station serving the town Dax, Landes department, southwestern France. It is situated on the Bordeaux–Irun railway and the Puyoô–Dax railway. The station is served by high speed trains to Paris, Hendaye and Tarbes, and regional trains towards Bordeaux, Bayonne and Pau.

The Diocese of Aire and Dax (Latin: Dioecesis Adurensis et Aquae Augustae; French: Diocèse d'Aire et Dax) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Catholic Church in France. It comprises the département of Landes, in the région of Gascony in Aquitaine. It was a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Auch under the Ancien Régime, but was not re-established until 1822, when it was again made a suffragan of the re-established Archdiocese of Auch, and was assigned the territory of the former Diocese of Aire and Diocese of Acqs (Dax). It is now a suffragan in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Bordeaux. It has been known since 1857 as the Diocese of Aire and Dax. It is a co-cathedral diocese, with cathedras in the Cathedral St-Jean-Baptiste d' Aire and in Nôtre Dame de Dax. On April 6, 2017, the resignation letter of recent Bishop Herve Gaschignard was officially accepted by Pope Francis following allegations that Gaschignard engaged in inappropriate behavior with young people.

Saint-Paul-lès-Dax (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ pɔl lɛ daks], literally Saint-Paul near Dax; Gascon: Sent Pau d'Acs) is a commune in the Landes department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.

Communauté d'agglomération du Grand Dax is the communauté d'agglomération, an intercommunal structure, centred on the town of Dax. It is located in the Landes department, in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, southwestern France. Created in 1993, its seat is in Dax. Its area is 344.3 km2. Its population was 55,657 in 2019, of which 20,843 in Dax proper.

Seyresse (French pronunciation: [sejʁɛs]; Occitan: Seiressa) is a commune in the Landes department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.
