Saanich Inlet

Bamberton Provincial Park is a provincial park located in Mill Bay, British Columbia, Canada. The park area consists of a beach that borders on Saanich Inlet, and is connected to a camping area by several trails. The traditional name of the beach is qʷələs in the Saanich dialect. It shares its name with the now abandoned company town of Bamberton. The park was established by Order-in-Council in 1960, with an area of approximately 68.94 hectares (170.4 acres). It was reduced in size in 2004 to 28 hectares (69 acres).

Bamberton is an industrial site located on the Saanich Inlet, just south of Mill Bay, around 45k kilometres north of Victoria on Vancouver Island. The community of Bamberton was first developed in 1912 when the Associated Cement Company plant was built. Bamberton was owned by the cement company and occupied by the plant, its employees and their families until the plant closed in 1980. Since the plant closed, ownership of Bamberton has changed hands multiple times and several development plans have been proposed. In 2015 the Malahat First Nation purchased Bamberton and announced a partnership with Steelhead LNG. With them, they have proposed the creation of a Liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility at the Bamberton site.

Patricia Bay ("Pat Bay" to locals) is a body of salt water that extends east from Saanich Inlet and forms part of the shoreline of North Saanich, British Columbia. It lies due west of Victoria International Airport. A municipal park covers most of its eastern shore except at the southern end, which is home to a Canadian Coast Guard base, a seaplane port known as Victoria Airport Water Aerodrome, and two Canadian Government research facilities – the Institute of Ocean Sciences and GSC Pacific Sidney (formerly the Pacific Geoscience Centre).

CJZN-FM (The Zone @ 91-3) is a Canadian broadcast radio station in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. CJZN broadcasts an alternative rock format at 91.3 on the FM band. The station can also be heard in the interior Northwest of Washington. The signal overpowers KBCS from Bellevue Community College, which is a public radio station. The station placed 2nd in the fall 2022 Numeris Diary Survey for Victoria.

CKKQ-FM (100.3 The Q) is a broadcast radio station in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. CKKQ broadcasts at a frequency of 100.3 MHz on the FM band. The station has broadcast a mainstream rock format since its inception, but has a more classic rock sound since 2001, when sister station CKXM AM/-FM became The Zone @ 91.3 with the CJZN calls and an alternative rock format. It used to have an adult album alternative lean up until Pattison took over the station from OK Radio. The station placed 2nd in the fall 2018 Numeris Diary Survey for Victoria

Willis Point is a small, rural community in the Canadian province of British Columbia, located in the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area within the Capital Regional District and Greater Victoria. It is located on the Saanich Peninsula and faces north toward the Saanich Inlet. The community is bounded by the District of Highlands to the south, the District of Saanich to the southeast and the District of Central Saanich to the east. It is located west of the village of Brentwood Bay and north of the city of Victoria. Willis Point is known for its natural beauty, including many hiking and biking trails that offer direct access to one of the last remaining enclaves of Douglas-fir forest on the Saanich Peninsula. The community is entirely surrounded by Gowlland Tod Provincial Park, Mount Work Regional Park and Durrance Lake Regional Park. The community is also a popular destination for local and international scuba divers and offers multiple shore-dive locations including the Willis Point Dive Site known for its easy entry and quiet, sheltered waters. The population of Willis Point is estimated to be between 440 and 450 people, living in approximately 150 homes. It is home to one of Vancouver Islands' oldest volunteer fire departments, the Willis Point Volunteer Fire Department established in 1977. A history of the community has been documented and published by local historian Bill Wright.

Mill Bay is a commuter town of about 7,200 people located on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada about 30 km (19 mi) north of Victoria, the capital. It is part of the Cowichan Valley Regional District. Mill Bay was founded in the 1860s with lumber and milling as its primary industries, done at the mill on the bay. It was named for the sawmill built in the area in 1861 by Henry S. Shepherd soon purchased by William Sayward.: 174  It is known for its ferry to Brentwood Bay on the Saanich Peninsula and the historic Malahat Drive, which is also a source of criticism due to frequent closures from either automobile accidents or weather conditions. Numerous suggestions have been made by various groups regarding a 'bypass' route (possibly a bridge), though as of 2007, the Brentwood-Mill Bay Ferry and the Malahat remain the best routes to Greater Victoria from the rest of Vancouver Island (a third route goes south from Lake Cowichan via Port Renfrew to Victoria). The MV Mill Bay that has served the ferry route since 1956 is named for the town but was taken out of service in 2011 and is now served by the MV Klitsa.

ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱/John Dean Provincial Park, formerly John Dean Provincial Park, is a small, densely vegetated provincial park (174 hectares) on the Saanich Peninsula of southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The park is located on and around ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ (Mount Newton), a small mountain (elevation 305 m) in the traditional territory of Wsanec First Nations [1] , itself situated 20 km north of Victoria, the provincial capital city. Featuring lush vegetation, the park is noted for its virgin old-growth douglas-fir and western red cedar, with large specimens up to 70 m in height (taller than the tallest tree in the UK and the tallest conifer in all of Europe) and for its rich Coastal Douglas-Fir ecosystem, little of which remains on southern Vancouver Island. About a quarter of the old-growth forest to the north-west lies on the Cole Bay reserve of the Pauquachin First Nation.

The Institute of Ocean Sciences is operated by Fisheries and Oceans Canada and is one of the largest marine research centres in Canada. It is located on Patricia Bay and the former British Columbia Highway 17A in Sidney, British Columbia on Vancouver Island just west of Victoria International Airport. The institute is paired with a Canadian Coast Guard base, and makes use of the ships CCGS John P. Tully and CCGS Sir Wilfrid Laurier as well as the Japanese RV Mirai.

Victoria Airport Water Aerodrome (TC LID: CAP5) is a seaplane base located 12 nautical miles (22 km; 14 mi) north northwest of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, adjacent to Victoria International Airport. The airport is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). CBSA officers at this airport can handle general aviation aircraft only, with no more than 15 passengers.Today, Pat Bay serves as an alternate airport for Harbour Air flights to Victoria Inner Harbour. Charters in and out of Pat Bay are rare, but not out of the question.

The Butchart Gardens is a group of floral display gardens in Brentwood Bay, British Columbia, Canada, located near Victoria on Vancouver Island. The gardens receive over a million visitors each year. The gardens have been designated a National Historic Site of Canada.
