Canton of Longvic

Longvic (French pronunciation: [lɔ̃vi]) is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in eastern France. It is the twin city of New Holland, Pennsylvania, due to a Case New Holland plant being located in Longvic.

The canton of Dijon-4 is an administrative division of the Côte-d'Or department, eastern France. Its borders were modified at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Dijon.It consists of the following communes: Dijon (partly)

The École Nationale Supérieure de Biologie Appliquée à la Nutrition et à l'Alimentation or ENSBANA was a French "Ecole d'Ingénieurs" (Grande Ecole) specialised in Food Science and Technology, located on the campus of Université de Bourgogne, Dijon, France. Since it was founded in 1967, more than 1,800 students have graduated from the school. It merged with ENSESAD to create Agrosup Dijon in 2009. In 2022, Agrosup Dijon became : Institut Agro Dijon. It belongs to the Institut Agro, with Institut Agro Rennes-Angers and Institut agro Montpellier.

The Suzon is a French river in the Côte-d'Or department, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region and a tributary of the Ouche, therefore a sub-tributary of the Rhône, by the Saône. The river enters the Ouche at Dijon.

The University of Burgundy (French: Université de Bourgogne, uB; formerly known as Université de Dijon) is a public university located in Dijon, France. The University of Burgundy is situated on a large campus (more than 150 ha) in the eastern part of Dijon called Campus Montmuzard, about 15 minutes by tram from the city centre. The humanities and sciences are well represented on the main campus, along with law, medicine, and literature in separate buildings. The IUT (Institute of technology) is also on the campus, providing specialist higher level diplomas in business, biology, communications and computer science. The university counts 10 faculties, 4 engineering schools, 3 institutes of technology offering undergraduate courses, and 2 professional institutes providing post-graduate programmes. With numerous student societies and good support services for international and disabled students, the campus is a welcoming place with numerous CROUS restaurants and canteens providing subsidised food and snacks.

Ecole Supérieure d'Ingénieurs Numérique et Matériaux (ESIREM) is a French public research engineering school founded in 1991. It is one of the five grandes écoles of the University of Burgundy and is located in Dijon, France. The professors (mostly researchers) have been involved in efforts to develop data processing, embedded systems, telecommunications networks, algorithms and optics. The engineering programs offered at ESIREM have also expanded beyond the physical sciences to include courses such as business management and project management. The school was previously known as FIRST and changed its name to ESIREM in 1998.

The Serres de l'Université de Bourgogne are greenhouse botanical gardens operated by the University of Burgundy. They are located at 8 rue du Recteur Marcel Bouchard, Dijon, Bourgogne, Côte-d'Or, France. The greenhouses were established in 1966 and consist of a palm house, laboratories, and six greenhouses designated for hot, temperate, and cold climates, cactuses, experiments, and multiple purposes. They preserve various threatened plants of Bourgogne, and also contain a range of tropical and subtropical genera such as Psilotum and Lycopodium, tropical aquatics such as Eichhornia and Salvinia, carnivorous plants including Sarracenia and Darlingtonia, and epiphytes including Bromeliaceae and Orchidaceae. Collections also include a herbarium (5,000 specimens of historic interest) and teaching models of plants.

Dijon-Longvic Air Base (French: Base aérienne 102 Dijon, IATA: DIJ, ICAO: LFSD) was a French Air Force (French: Armée de l'Air) air base. The airfield is located approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) east-southeast of Longvic; about 165 miles (266 km) southeast of Paris. Operating as a joint civilian base, it is today used as a commercial airport named Aéroport Dijon-Bourgogne.

The Académie de Dijon was founded by Hector-Bernard Pouffier, the most senior member of the Parlement de Bourgogne, in 1725. It received royal lettres patentes in 1740. In 1775, it became the "Académie des Sciences, Arts et Belles-Lettres de Dijon." From 1855 to 1869, it was called the "Académie Impériale des Sciences, Arts et Belles-Lettres de Dijon" before returning in 1870 to the name "Académie des Sciences, Arts et Belles-Lettres de Dijon." In July 1750, it sponsored a prize competition on the question of "whether the reestablishment of the sciences and the arts contributed to purifying morals." Jean-Jacques Rousseau won the prize by arguing in the negative, in his Discourse on the Arts and Sciences. In 1754, he again competed for the prize with his Discourse on the Origin and Basis of Inequality Among Men, but did not win the prize that year. The Académie des Sciences, Arts et Belles-Lettres de Dijon still exists, and still offers the prize.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Dijon (Latin: Archidioecesis Divionensis; French: Archidiocèse de Dijon) is a diocese of the Latin Church of the Roman Catholic Church in France. The archepiscopal see is Dijon Cathedral, which is located in the city of Dijon. The diocese comprises the entire department of Côte-d'Or, in the Region of Bourgogne. Originally established as the Diocese of Dijon in 1731, and suffragan to the Archdiocese of Lyon, the diocese was elevated to the rank of archdiocese in 2002. The most significant jurisdiction change occurred after the Concordat of 1801, when the diocese annexed the department of Haute-Marne. In 1821, a papal bull re-established the Diocese of Langres. The current archbishop is Antoine Hérouard, appointed in 2022.

The Musée Rude is an art museum dedicated to the French sculptor François Rude (1784–1855). It has the "Musée de France" label and has been housed since 1947, in a part of the former Église Saint-Étienne of Dijon, built during the 11th century. The museum displays life-size plaster casts acquired by the Dijon municipality between 1887 and 1910, which are major works by the artist exhibited in other museums in France (including the Louvre in Paris). The museum also displays archaeological crypt of the 11th century, and the former St. Stephen's Gate of the Dijon castrum of the 3rd century on which the church is built. Open from 9:30 am to 6 pm from 1 June to 30 September, the museum is free. Labeled Museum of France since February 1, 2003, it is attached to the Dijon Museum of Fine Arts, which manages it.
