Broadway Avenue Historic District (Cleveland, Ohio)

The Hruby Conservatory of Music is a historic building completed in 1917 and located on Broadway Avenue in the Slavic Village area of Cleveland, Ohio. It was designed by the architectural firm of Steffens & Steffens as a music school for Frank and Fred Hruby, of the locally renowned musical Hruby Family. The style is considered Late 19th and 20th century Renaissance Revival.The two-story building housed the music school on the second floor. It had several studios for lessons and a formal concert recital hall. The first level was designed for retail stores. The school closed in 1968 after Frank and Fred retired from teaching.In 1976 the building was purchased by Dr. Nicholas Demmy and his wife Olean Demmy. The Demmys had the building restored and arranged for the facility to become the Broadway Branch of the Cleveland Music School Settlement. The school re-opened on October 2, 1980. In 1983 the school began operating as an independent non-profit called The Broadway School of Music and the Arts. Today the school continues to operate, however the building is owned by a private individual. The Hruby Conservatory of Music was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 29, 1979.

The Cleveland Velodrome is an open-air velodrome in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S. The 166 m (182 yd) track has 50 degree banked turns. The track opened in August 2012. For the 2018 season, the track was renovated.

Bohemian National Hall (Czech: Česká národní síň) is an historic building located in the Broadway–Slavic Village neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in May 1975. The hall was built to serve the cultural and educational needs of the city's Czech community, and currently serves as host to Sokol Greater Cleveland and the Cleveland Czech Cultural Center and Museum.

The Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus (Polish: Kościół św. Stanisława Biskupa i Męczennika) is the home of a Catholic parish within the Diocese of Cleveland. St. Stanislaus is one of the major historic centers of Polish life in Cleveland, Ohio, especially for Poles with roots in Warsaw and surrounding areas, and is often called the mother church for Cleveland's Polish population. The shrine is located at the intersection of Forman Ave. and East 65th St., in a part of the South Broadway neighborhood previously known as Warszawa; today the area is known as Slavic Village. The church, the neighborhood, and the larger surroundings are GNIS named features.The building itself, listed as St. Stanislaus Church, and the neighborhood, listed as Warszawa Neighborhood District, are both on the National Register of Historic Places.The church and school buildings are listed together as a Cleveland Designated Landmark.The Alliance of Poles on Broadway Avenue was allied with the St. Stanislaus Parish Community.

Cleveland Central Catholic High School is a private co-educational high school located in Cleveland, Ohio. It is run by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. It is a member of the North Central Association, the Notre Dame Education Association, and the National Catholic Education Association.

Broadway–Slavic Village is a neighborhood on the southeast side of Cleveland, Ohio. One of the city's oldest neighborhoods, it originated as the township of Newburgh, first settled in 1799. Much of the area has historically served as home to Cleveland's original Czech and Polish immigrants. While demographics have shifted over the decades, the largest part of Broadway today, Slavic Village, is named for these earlier communities.Broadway is bordered to the west and northwest by Cuyahoga Valley, to the north by the Central neighborhood, to the east by the neighborhoods of Union–Miles Park and Kinsman, the suburbs of Cuyahoga Heights and Newburgh Heights to the west and southwest and Garfield Heights to the south.

East 55th (signed as East 55th Street) is a station on the RTA Red, Blue, and Green Lines in Cleveland, Ohio. The station entrance is located on the east side of East 55th Street just north of the intersection with Bower Avenue and the eastern terminus of Interstate 490. The station is fairly unusual in that it serves both high-level boarding rapid transit or heavy rail trains and low-level boarding light rail trains from a single central island platform. High-level boarding for the Red Line is located at the western end of the platform and low-level boarding for the Green and Blue Lines is to the east. East 55th and Tri-C–Campus District are the only stations on the Blue/Green Line, other than downtown's Tower City station, to have island platforms. Therefore, due to the fare collection procedure used on the Blue/Green Line, disembarking Blue/Green Line westbound passengers must walk to the front of the train and pay their fare or swipe/dip their farecard at the farebox before walking back through the train to exit one of the car's side left doors. Likewise, passengers departing East 55th station on the Blue/Green Line going eastbound must board the train through one of the train's left side doors and then immediately walk to the front of the train to pay their fare or swipe/dip their farecard at the farebox.

Sidaway Bridge is a bridge in Cleveland, Ohio. It spans the Kingsbury Run ravine, between Sidaway Avenue and East 65th Street, and is Cleveland's only suspension bridge. The footbridge spans 680 feet (210 m) with steel towers 158 feet (48 m) tall. It connects the neighborhoods of Slavic Village and Kinsman.

Brotherhood Park is a former baseball ground located in Cleveland, Ohio. The ground was home to the Cleveland Infants of the Players' League in 1890. According to sources, it stood at Willson (or Wilson) Avenue (now East 55th Street) and the Nickel Plate Railroad tracks, which are now Metro tracks.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (Polish: Kościół Niepokalanego Serca Najświętszej Maryi Panny), is a Catholic parish church in Cleveland, Ohio and part of the Diocese of Cleveland. It is a located on Lansing Ave. near East 66th St., in a part of the South Broadway neighborhood previously known as Warszawa, also referred to today as Slavic Village. Both the church and the area are GNIS named features. The church is in the neighborhood of, but not within, the area listed as Warszawa Neighborhood District on the National Register of Historic Places. The church, school, rectory, and convent buildings are listed together as a Cleveland Designated Landmark.The parish was founded in 1894.

Transfiguration Church (Polish: Parafia Przemienienia Pańskiego w Cleveland), was a Catholic parish church in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States. Part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, it was located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Fullerton Avenue in a part of the South Broadway neighborhood previously known in Polish as Warszawa, also referred to today as Slavic Village. The church suffered a severe structure fire in 1990. The parish closed in 1992, and the church was demolished in early 1993.

South High School was a public high school located in Cleveland, Ohio in the historic Slavic Village neighborhood. It was part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Opened in 1894, it was the second high school established in the city. Their nickname was the Flyers. In June 2010 South High was closed by the 2010 Academic Transformation Plan that was issued by the Cleveland Public School System. Among the school's notable students was Hank Ruszkowski, who went on to play catcher for the Cleveland Indians baseball team.
