WUTQ-FM (100.7 MHz) is a commercial radio station licensed to Utica, New York. The station serves the Utica-Rome region of New York State. The station is owned by Roser Communications Network and it airs a talk radio format. The studios and offices are on Leland Avenue in Utica. The transmitter is on Higby Road in New Hartford.

Frankfort Hill District No. 10 School is a historic one-room school building located at Frankfort Hill in Herkimer County, New York. It was built in 1846, and is a 1+1⁄2-story, rectangular wood-frame building with board-and-batten siding and a steep gable roof. It has a one-story, rear addition and rests on a new concrete and masonry foundation. It remained in use as a school until 1956.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Frankfort-Highland Airport (FAA LID: 6B4) is a privately owned, public use airport located west of Frankfort, a village in the Town of Frankfort, Herkimer County, New York, United States. The airport is southeast of Utica, a city in Oneida County. It is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a general aviation facility.

The Utica Shale is a stratigraphical unit of Upper Ordovician age in the Appalachian Basin. It underlies much of the northeastern United States and adjacent parts of Canada. It takes the name from the city of Utica, New York, as it was first described as an outcrop along the Starch Factory Creek east of the city by Ebenezer Emmons in 1842.

In October 2015, 19-year-old Lucas Leonard died from injuries sustained during repeated and severe beatings at the Word of Life Christian Church in Chadwicks, New York. The beatings were part of "spiritual counseling" for Lucas and his 17-year old brother Christopher, who survived with severe injuries. The two were repeatedly assaulted by a group of parishioners, which included church leaders and the Leonard brothers' parents and older sister.

Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) is a public community college in Oneida County, New York. It is part of the State University of New York system. MVCC was founded in 1946 as the first community college established in New York State and currently consists of the main campus in Utica, N.Y., and a branch campus in Rome, New York It is the largest college between Syracuse, N.Y., and Albany, N.Y. MVCC offers degrees and certificates in more than 90 areas including liberal arts, nursing, surgical technology, computer science, remotely piloted aircraft systems, graphic design, criminal justice, airframe and power plant technology (aviation maintenance), engineering, culinary arts, and accounting. MVCC also has non-credit courses available through its Corporate and Community Education Department, including training for security guards, Certified Nurse Assistants, paralegals, and tractor-trailer drivers. This department also has a variety of leisure learning courses and camps for kids throughout the year.

Soldiers and Sailors Monument (1908–1911) is a Beaux-Arts monument in Syracuse, New York, dedicated to the 12,265 men of Onondaga County who served in the Civil War. It was designed by architect Clarence Blackall and includes two bronze sculptures, The Call to Arms and An Incident at Gettysburg by Cyrus Dallin. The memorial was erected in Clinton Square, alongside the Erie Canal.The monument consists of a square granite pylon with attached Roman Ionic columns at its corners, supporting a heavy cornice with a carved frieze, and crowned by a globe guarded by four eagles grasping a thick garland. This is set atop a plinth, and a stepped plaza with corner piers supporting bronze lampposts. The pylon's east and west sides are adorned with bronze high-relief sculpture groups by Dallin. The north and south sides feature granite reliefs of flags and military accoutrements. The plinth features dedication plaques, and a quotation from President Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address. The monument is approximately 75 ft (22.86 m) tall.Dallin won a design competition to produce the two monumental bronze groups, The Call to Arms and An Incident at Gettysburg. The competition's judges included J. Q. A. Ward and Daniel Chester French. The Incident at Gettysburg group depicts the moment when a Syracuse native, Color Sergeant William C. Lilly of the 149th New York Infantry, paused in the middle of a firefight to repair a broken flagstaff with his belt. Lilly survived Gettysburg but was killed in a later engagement in the War.The monument's cornerstone was laid on Memorial Day, May 31, 1909. It was dedicated on June 21, 1910, although only Dallin’s The Call to Arms had been installed. Dallin's assistant, Frederick MacMonnies, had been sent to France to attend to the other sculpture group's casting in bronze, but instead got married and went off on his honeymoon. The Incident at Gettysburg was dedicated on June 23, 1911.The Syracuse section of the Erie Canal was filled in and paved over in 1925, to create Erie Boulevard. The monument's original granite plaza measured 50 ft (15.24 m) by 150 ft (45.72 m), but the sections east and west of its central portion were removed in the 1930s, and replaced by landscaping. A reflecting pool that traces the canal's former path was constructed alongside the monument in 2001. It features fountain jets in warm weather and becomes an iceskating rink in winter.

Utica Armory is a historic National Guard armory building located in Utica in Oneida County, New York. It is a structural steel structure with brick curtain walls built in 1930 for Troop A, 121st Cavalry, and designed by State architect William Haugaard. It consists of a two-story administration building with an attached three story drill shed. The administrative building features Tudor inspired towers, turrets and crenelated parapets.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Chadwicks is a census-designated place in the town of New Hartford in Oneida County, New York, United States. Chadwicks is part of the Utica–Rome Metropolitan Statistical Area. Currently, residents of Chadwicks attend local schooling from the nearby hamlet of Sauquoit.

Litchfield is a town in Herkimer County, New York, United States. The population was 1,513 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Litchfield, Connecticut, the source of some early settlers of the city. The town of Litchfield is in the southwestern part of the county and is southeast of Utica.

Thomas R. Proctor High School is the only high school in the Utica City School District in Utica, New York. The school was built in 1934 with funds from the Works Progress Administration and Thomas R. Proctor. It opened its doors on September 9, 1936. The school is the only public high school in Utica after Utica Free Academy closed in 1990.

Utica Parks and Parkway Historic District is a national historic district located at Utica in Oneida County, New York. It consists of four contributing historic elements: a historic right-of-way known as the Memorial Parkway and the three large parks it connects: Roscoe Conkling Park, F.T. Proctor Park, and T.R. Proctor Park. The district includes seven contributing buildings, three contributing sites, 26 contributing structures, and five contributing objects. The park and parkway system was designed between 1908 and 1914 by the firm of Olmsted Brothers Landscape Associates, headed by Frederick Law Olmsted Jr. The Utica Zoo is located in Roscoe Conkling Park. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009.
