Kibblesworth

Lamesley is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. The population of the civil parish as of the 2011 census was 3,742. The village is on the southern outskirts of Gateshead, near to Birtley. The parish includes Kibblesworth, Lamesley village, Eighton Banks and Northside, Birtley which is predominantly private housing in neighbourhoods named The Hollys, Long Bank, Northdene and Crathie. The ruined Ravensworth Castle is also in Lamesley. A hilltop contemporary sculpture in the parish is the Angel of the North by Anthony Gormley on a minor hilltop which is lower than the adjoining Low Fell and High Fell outside the parish.

Lamesley railway station served the village of Lamesley, Tyne and Wear, England from 1868 to 1959 on the East Coast Main Line.

Tyne Yard (TY) is a railway yard in Birtley, England, on the East Coast Main Line, operated by DB Cargo UK. The yard is the major freight yard of the North East, with the majority of rail freight movements in Tyne and Wear from around Great Britain passing through the yard.

Urpeth (Urpeth Grange) is a village in County Durham, England. It is situated a short distance from Ouston and Beamish, near the border with Tyne and Wear. The parish population taken at the 2011 census was 3,630.Urpeth started its life as a coal mining area with multiple seams of coal being mined from various locations around the current housing estate. Urpeth Colliery was owned by the Birtley Iron Company and during its heyday employed 300 men and boys. The on site coke ovens produced up to 470 tons of coke each day. Geographically Urpeth is situated to the west of Ouston and is surrounded by fields and rolling hills. Standing in Urpeth's only play park, one cannot see Ouston as there is a hill which blocks the view. This hill was formed from the coal spoils from both the Ouston and Urpeth collieries. The hill provides local children with an area for sledging during winter and dog walkers throughout the year. There are currently two main businesses run within Urpeth which is the "Spar" Newsagents and The Cherry Tree pub. Urpeth was once host to a controversial landfill site to the south west of its main location. The site was used for the disposal of low level radioactive waste along with three other sites at Kibblesworth, Ryton and Cowpen Bewley. However, since the late 1990s the site was closed and a methane burner sits on the site.

Grace College (formerly Joseph Swan School, then Joseph Swan Academy) is a mixed secondary school with academy status situated in south Gateshead, England which educates pupils ages 11–18. The school was originally named after the English physicist and chemist, Sir Joseph Wilson Swan. In 2001, the school was awarded Specialist Technology College status. In April 2019, Joseph Swan Academy was formally adopted into the Emmanuel Schools Foundation and Mr Mark Hall became principal of the academy, with Nathanael Ogborn becoming its Head of School in 2021. As part of its transition into the ESF, it became known as Grace College from September 2019.

High Urpeth is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated to the west of Urpeth, and a short distance to the north of High Handenhold.

Team Valley is a trading estate located in Gateshead. It is home to the Retail World retail park, with many large, international companies are based in the area's trading estate. In 2017, there were approximately 700 companies on the estate, employing approximately 20,000 people.The residential area known as the Teams is adjacent to Dunston.

Ravensworth Castle is a ruinous Grade II* listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument situated at Lamesley, Tyne and Wear, England. The building has been destroyed and rebuilt a number of times, and was the seat of the Ravensworth barons, the Liddells.

Chowdene is a suburb and electoral ward of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear.

Perkinsville is a village in County Durham, in England. It is situated immediately to the north of Pelton, to the north-west of Chester-le-Street. There are a few shops including a convenience store, a fish and chip shop and a Beauty Salon. There is also a working men's club. A pub ('The Ship') was located in the village but has been demolished with new housing being built in its place. Perkinsville was constructed between 1858 & 1871 by Edward Moseley Perkins, who ran Birtley Iron Works & 2 local coal mines. He was succeeded by his son Charles who expanded the business but was unfortunately killed in a car crash in 1905. Perkinsville was originally laid out in a simple colliery housing style with streets named "A street" through "E Street" and a North Street, but in the 20th century there was considerable redevelopment of the village. The village is part of the Pelton ward of Pelton Parish Council and is part of the Pelton division of Durham County Council.

Low Fell railway station served the Low Fell area of Gateshead between 1868 and 1952.

Ouston is a village in County Durham, about 8 miles (13 kilometres) south-west of Newcastle upon Tyne in the north-east of England. The main village of Ouston (formerly called Ulkerton in earlier medieval times) is adjoined by the 1970s built housing estate known as Urpeth Grange but both are referred to colloquially as Ouston by locals. The population of the parish taken at the 2011 census was 2821.
