Whitchurch Halt railway station

Whitchurch is a village in north Somerset, England and an adjoining suburb of southern Bristol, bounded by Hartcliffe to the west and Hengrove and Knowle to the north. The suburb was initially developed during the 1930s. The A37 road, which passes through Whitchurch, links Bristol with Dorchester. Within Bristol the A37 is known as Wells Road. It was one of the first dual carriageways to be built in Bristol.

Hengrove Athletic Football Club is a football club based in the Bristol suburb of Hengrove. Affiliated to the Somerset County FA, they are currently members of the Western League Division One and play at Norton Lane in Whitchurch.

Counterslip Baptist Church is a church located in south Bristol, England. It has been located on its current site on the Wells Road since the 1950s having previously been located on Counterslip near Bristol Bridge. The church was founded in 1804 when 49 members of the declining Pithay Church left and decided to set up a church of their own at Tailor's Court. The first service was held on 12 November that year. By 1810, numbers at the church had risen to around 70. It was then that the church moved to Counterslip and acquired the name that it is still known by today. By 1822, membership at the church had risen to well over 200. By the mid-1870s, membership had risen to around 500 causing the church to move again, this time to Victoria Street where a chapel was built which was used until the 1940s when it was bombed during the Second World War. The Church used several temporary venues before it moved to the Hengrove Hall in Whitchurch (now the Kingdom Hall used by the Jehovah's Witnesses). In 1948, the church moved to the current Wells Road site where two temporary buildings had been erected, a main church building and a hall. In 1957, work began on the premises that the church still uses today which opened on 28 June.

Oasis Academy John Williams is a secondary school with an academy status in the Hengrove district of Bristol, England. Opened in 2008, it is run by Oasis Community Learning. The academy serves Hengrove and the surrounding areas. A small majority of the students are from one of the most deprived wards in the country, Filwood, and one third of students are eligible for free school meals and thus pupil premium. As of 2013, almost all students are White British and very few speak English as an additional language.

Maes Knoll (sometimes Maes tump or Maes Knoll tump) is an Iron Age hill fort in Somerset, England, located at the eastern end of the Dundry Down ridge, south of the city of Bristol and north of the village of Norton Malreward near the eastern side of Dundry Hill. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Norton Malreward is a small Somerset village and civil parish 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Bristol, England at the northern edge of the Chew Valley. In 1895 Norton Malreward was combined with the neighbouring hamlet of Norton Hawkfield (also spelt Hautville) into a single parish, which has a population of 246.
