The Knox School is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational day school, located in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Wantirna South, Victoria, Australia. The school is a member of the Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne association.

The Melbourne School of Theology (MST) is an evangelical Christian theological college with its main campus in Wantirna, an eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It offers undergraduate and post-graduate programs in biblical studies, pastoral studies, theology and related fields. The school has a Chinese department, known as MST Chinese, in which undergraduate and graduate courses are taught in both Mandarin and Cantonese which also has a postgraduate research section known as MST Centre for the Study of Chinese Christianity. In 2011 the main (Wantirna) campus relocated from the suburb of Lilydale in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne to its present location. The Chinese department, which used to operate in Box Hill, also relocated to the new campus and was renamed MST Chinese.

The Australian Jazz Museum (AJM), incorporating the Victorian Jazz Archive (VJA), is located in Wantirna, Victoria. It is an incorporated association arising out of a meeting held in Sydney on 23 June 1996 to address the growing concern among the jazz community that the rich Australian jazz heritage was at risk of being lost.The inaugural meeting of the Australian Jazz Museum was held at the then Whitehorse Hotel, Melbourne, on Sunday 18 August 1996. Approximately sixty invitees including representatives from Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney attended. The living MAP-accredited museum that is the Australian Jazz Museum is now achieving its goal to Proactively Collect, Archive & Disseminate Australian Jazz by collecting, exhibiting, preserving and storing on a "permanent basis all material and memorabilia of whatever nature pertaining to jazz music, performed and/or composed by Australian jazz musicians, covering the period from the 1920s through to the present day."Accredited by the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) as being part of the national distributed collection of audio-visual material, AJM is also a member of the Australian Jazz Archive National Council (AJANC). The Museum also has as part of its charter the further development of its collection by saving recordings of jazz produced outside Australia, to be used as a reference source. In 2007 the Australian Jazz Museum received the Victorian Community History Awards (Best Exhibit / Display) for its Jazz Spans the Decades – A History of Jazz in Victoria exhibit. Its extensive collection includes discs, audio cassettes, posters, books, photographs, instruments and ephemera includes works by such Australian Jazz luminaries as Graeme Bell, Bob Barnard, Ade Monsbourgh, Smacka Fitzgibbon and Frank Traynor together with magazines, periodicals and newspaper articles on Australian jazz musicians and many international performers. The Australian Jazz Museum also houses the Australian Jazz Convention's extensive collection of material within its premises.The Australian Jazz Museum is open to the public on Tuesdays and Fridays and also by appointment for tours of the facilities. There is an extensive research library and the Australian component of the sound collection is listed on the Museum's Collections database.

Waverley Christian College is a co-educational independent Christian school with two campuses – Wantirna South and Narre Warren South. The College offers Christian education to pre-school, primary, and secondary students. Originally established in 1978 as Parkmore Full Gospel College by Parkmore Full Gospel Church, the church and school merged with Waverley Christian Fellowship (now CityLife Church) in 1983. The College moved to its present site in Wantirna South in 1989.

The State Basketball Centre is a sports arena located in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia which is mainly used for basketball. However, the centre has been used for several other events. The stadium features six courts, including one basketball show court with seating for 3,200. Facilities cater primarily for basketball, with five courts being able to be configured for netball. The stadium houses the offices of Basketball Australia, Basketball Victoria, Knox Basketball Incorporated, South East Melbourne Phoenix and hosts WNBL games for the Southside Flyers and Melbourne Boomers. The stadium also hosts a select number of Phoenix home games each NBL season. In March 2021, the State Basketball Centre hosted four games as part of the NBL Cup.In September 2022, the State Basketball Centre hosted the NBL1 National Finals.

The City of Knox is a local government area in Victoria, Australia in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It has an area of 114 square kilometres (44.0 sq mi) and in 2020, Knox had a population of 165,147. This municipality is one of only a handful that survived the widespread municipal amalgamations that occurred in Victoria in the early 1990s.

Koomba Park is one of the parks comprising the Dandenong Valley Parklands in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. It consists of 92 hectares (230 acres) of which 33 hectares (82 acres) are publicly accessible, and is bounded by Dandenong Creek, Boronia Road, EastLink, Mountain Highway and Burwood Highway in a clockwise direction. It is managed primarily by VicRoads and Parks Victoria. The park opened in December 1981, and its land was previously used for cattle grazing and apple orchards. The surrounding area is still used for grazing. There are three major power transmission lines running through the park: Rowville-Templestowe Single Circuit Southern (first and second), and Rowville-Ringwood.In 2019, a study found that Koomba Park was one of the least used areas of the Dandenong Valley Parklands, and also garnered the least satisfaction from park users when compared to Jells Park and Tirhatuan Park.

Wantirna South is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 25 km east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Knox local government area. Wantirna South recorded a population of 20,754 at the 2021 census. 5 Wantirna South is a border suburb to City of Whitehorse and City of Monash.

Bushy Park Wetlands is a 30-hectare (74-acre) conservation park in Glen Waverley, Victoria, Australia. On the edge of suburbia, it is bounded by Dandenong Creek and houses along King Arthur Drive and Knights Drive. There is a cycling and walking path, and a bird watching hide, where egrets, pelicans, coots, dusky moorhen, ibis and occasionally spoonbill can be observed. It is accessible from the end of Highbury Road, or at the Drummies Bridge Reserve off High Street Road. It is also connected by the Dandenong Creek Trail to Shepherds Bush Park, Koomba Park and Napier Park.

Wantirna College is a state-government secondary school in Wantirna, Victoria, Australia. It was founded in 1980 when the surrounding area was developed from fruit orchards into housing estates. The school services Wantirna and Wantirna South, as well as parts of Boronia, and Bayswater. Approximately 1250 students are enrolled at the college in addition to approximately 85 teaching and 30 non-teaching staff. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum for students studying years seven through to twelve, which includes the Victorian Certificate of Education for students in years ten to twelve and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning for students in years 11 and 12.The college will receive $11 milltion from the 2022-2023 Victorian state budget.
