Woldgate School (formerly College) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form on Kilnwick Road in Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It educates approximately 1,169 pupils aged 11 to 18. Until 2017, the school was Local Authority funded, but became an academy in January 2017 and is now part of a Multi-Learning Partnership. It was rated 'good in its last Ofsted inspection.Woldgate School was built in the 1950s and educates pupils from Pocklington and its surrounding villages, which forms a large, mainly rural catchment area. The school was awarded specialist status and received a grant for developing performing arts. A new music block was built, which included a recording studio, practice rooms and a dance studio.The school teaching is under the National Curriculum, and includes a Sixth Form. Facilities include a dedicated Sixth Form study room and more than 800 computers, with a library and an Independent Learning Centre used for homework assistance and computer access. Other facilities are a gymnasium, a multi-use hall, fitness suite, tennis/netball courts, and a playing field used for football, rugby and athletics.

Burnby Hall Gardens, also known as Stewart's Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum, are located close to the centre of Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. They are home to the United Kingdom's national collection of hardy water lilies, and contain the largest such collection to be found in a natural setting in Europe. The 8 acres (3.2 ha) of gardens with two lakes planted with naturalized water lilies were bequeathed to Pocklington by Major Percy Marlborough Stewart.The lakes, originally created for fishing, are stocked with ornamental roach and carp that visitors can hand feed.

Pocklington railway station was a station on the York to Beverley Line that served the town of Pocklington, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It opened on 4 October 1847 and closed after the last train on 27 November 1965.The station trainshed, designed by George Townsend Andrews, is a Grade II listed building and now forms the sports hall of Pocklington School. The front entrance to the building now serves as one of the bays of Pocklington Bus Station which serves the EYMS bus service towards York from Hull, Beverley, Market Weighton, Driffield and Bridlington.

Hayton is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 2 miles (3 km) south of the market town of Pocklington and 4.5 miles (7 km) north-west of the market town of Market Weighton. It lies on the A1079 road. The parish includes Burnby together with the hamlet of Thorpe le Street. The parish covers an area of 1,729.333 hectares (4,273.27 acres), According to the 2011 UK census and the parish had a population of 360, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 317. Although the civil parish is called "Hayton" its parish council is called "Hayton and Burnby Parish Council". On 1 April 1935 Burnby and Thorpe le Street parish was abolished and merged with Hayton. The church dedicated to St Martin was designated a Grade I listed building in 1967 and is now recorded in the National Heritage List for England, maintained by Historic England. In 1823 Hayton was a village and a civil parish in the Wapentake of Harthill. The ecclesiastical parish was Hayton-cum-Beilby, with the parish incumbent living under the patronage of the Dean of York. Population at the time was 177. Occupations included twelve farmers, a blacksmith, a wheelwright, a corn miller, a shoemaker, and the landlord of The White Horse public house.

Kilnwick Percy is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Nunburnholme, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north-east of Pocklington town centre, and to the north of the B1246 road. In 1931 the parish had a population of 69. On 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Nunburnholme.Kilnwick Percy Hall is a Grade II* listed country house built around 1845. It is now a Buddhist meditation and retreat centre. The grounds of the hall include a lake and a small church in the Norman style dedicated to Saint Helen. The church is designated a Grade II listed building and is now recorded in the National Heritage List for England, maintained by Historic England.In 1823 Kilnwick Percy was a civil parish in the Wapentake and Liberty of Holderness. The ecclesiastical parish was under the patronage of the Dean of York. Population at the time was 43.

Royal Air Force Pocklington or more simply RAF Pocklington was an operational flying station of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, forming part of RAF Bomber Command, and operating primarily Vickers Wellington and Handley Page Halifax bombers. The station, adjacent to the town of Pocklington at grid reference SE790485, opened in 1941, and was closed in 1946. After a return to agricultural use, the station now forms an industrial estate and a restricted use airfield for a gliding club.

Pocklington was a rural district in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England from 1894 to 1974. The district surrounded but did not originally include Pocklington, which formed a separate urban district. The district was created by the Local Government Act 1894. It picked up all of Pocklington Urban District and a small part of Escrick Rural District when they were abolished in 1935 by a County Review Order made under the Local Government Act 1929. At the same time it was reduced as parts of the district were transferred to Driffield and Norton rural districts. In 1974 the district was abolished. Its area formed part of the East Yorkshire district in the county of Humberside. Today the area forms part of the East Riding of Yorkshire district.

Nunburnholme railway station was a railway station on the York to Beverley Line in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It opened in 1848 as Burnby, and was renamed 1873. It closed in 1951.
