Abbotsford International Airport (IATA: YXX, ICAO: CYXX) is located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada, 2.2 nautical miles (4.1 km; 2.5 mi) southwest of the city centre. It is the second largest airport in the Lower Mainland region of British Columbia, after Vancouver International Airport (YVR), and is in close proximity to British Columbia Highway 1, and the US border. It is located about 65 kilometres (40 mi) from downtown Vancouver. YXX offers daily domestic scheduled services and seasonal international scheduled services. The airport is equipped with a CAT 1 instrument landing system, on-site aircraft rescue and firefighting, and a fully serviced air terminal building with customs and passenger screening. It is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) for all scheduled international arrivals. CBSA also provides clearance services to all general aviation aircraft with no more than 15 passengers.Abbotsford Airport has a longstanding general aviation community and an established aerospace community, including Cascade Aerospace, the Conair Group, and the University of the Fraser Valley Aerospace Centre. Abbotsford Airport is also home to the Abbotsford Shell Aerocentre FBO and flying schools, such as Coastal Pacific Aviation, Principal Air and Chinook Helicopters. YXX is highly visible to the public due to the Abbotsford International Airshow, Defense & Security Expo, and Tradex events centre. There are approximately 87 hectares (215 acres) of land immediately available for airside and landside development. In 2008, 503,693 passengers passed through Abbotsford International Airport and 477,087 in 2014.In 2018, the airport announced it will undergo a $5 million, 14-000 square foot expansion to add new gates and additional passenger seating capacity.

Columbia Bible College (CBC) is an institution of higher education in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. The college states that its mission is to "equip people for a life of discipleship, ministry and leadership in service to the church and community". Theologically, Columbia Bible College is evangelical Anabaptist and is operated by two regional Mennonite conferences, British Columbia Mennonite Brethren and Mennonite Church British Columbia. Columbia is accredited by the international Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), and is registered with the British Columbia Private Career Training Institution Association (PCTIA).

Rick Hansen Secondary is a public high school in the neighborhood of Townline Hill, located in the west part of Abbotsford, British Columbia. It is part of School District 34 Abbotsford. Rick Hansen Secondary School (RHSS) is named after Rick Hansen, an athlete who won all-star awards in five sports when he was paralyzed at the age of 15 after being thrown from the back of a truck. He subsequently became a paraplegic athlete and activist for people with spinal cord injuries. The school usually takes in graduates from the nearby Eugene Reimer Middle School, and serves a predominantly Desi & South East Asian community. In 2015–2016, the school suspended many of its programs such as various clubs, sports teams, concert band and its cafeteria due to the low amount of students. The school saw record low enrolment as recent as 2016 and 2017, where it dropped to 591 students, compared to 938 in 2007.On October 19, 2020, a student collapsed and died following a medical incident in class.The school is a sister school to Rick Hansen Secondary School in Mississauga, Ontario.

Summit Pacific College (formerly Western Pentecostal Bible College) is an undergraduate seminary, or Bible college, on a foothill of Sumas Mountain in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. It is affiliated with Trinity Western University in Langley, BC. It is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education and is the theological college of the BC & Yukon District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.

W.J. Mouat Secondary is a public secondary school located in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. The school was recognized in the August 23, 2004 edition of MacLean's magazine as one of the "Ten Most Innovative Schools in Canada."W. J. Mouat has around 1,500 students between grades 9 and 12 and is the largest school in Abbotsford.

The Fraser Valley Trade and Exhibition Centre or TRADEX is the second largest facility of its kind in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. It is operated by the Tourism Abbotsford Society and hosts around 90 events every year. These events are run by independent companies or people (show managers) who are subject to TRADEX policies and procedures. The events vary in type and include consumer shows, trade shows, banquets, agricultural shows, special events, meetings, sporting events, outdoor events, weddings, product launches, film shoots, and ride and drives. The building has an H-shaped layout of two 60,000 square feet (5,600 m2) halls which can be used independently or for a single large exhibition. It has nine hangar-style doors of varying sizes, the biggest of which allows the passage of objects as large as 90 feet (27 m) wide and 19 feet (5.8 m) high. The centre hosts the bulk of its events between September to May, during which time events are run almost every weekend. During the rest of the year, the centre hosts fewer events, mostly held outdoors.

Mennonite Educational Institute (MEI) is an independent school consisting of four day schools — a preschool, elementary, middle, and secondary school — in the city of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1944 as a private high school by a group of Mennonite churches, governance, at a board level, is provided by representatives of 14 Society churches.

Jane & Gerry Swan Track at Rotary Stadium is a fully lighted, multi-purpose stadium located in Abbotsford, British Columbia. It features a rubberized 400 metre running track ("Jane & Gerry Swan Track") with wide turns and full field event facilities. The grandstand contains 4,000 seats (3,000 covered). Rotary Stadium is the home of the Valley Royals Track & Field Club, the Fraser Valley Venom (Rugby Canada Super League), and the Abbotsford Falcons (Football Club). The Valley Royals and Rotary Stadium are lasting legacies of the efforts by Jane and Gerry Swan; shortly after Jane's death in 2004, the city of Abbotsford renamed Rotary Stadium as Jane & Gerry Swan Track, in recognition of their contributions to the sport of athletics and the Abbotsford community as a whole. Over the years, the Valley Royals have hosted many prestigious events at Jane & Gerry Swan Track at Rotary Stadium (see Valley Royals Track & Field Club). For the past few years, the stadium and neighbouring fields have been used for BC Lions training camp activities. Rotary Stadium is part of Abbotsford Exhibition Park, a 75-acre (300,000 m2) park located in the heart of Abbotsford. The park will be undergoing a revitalization project based on the Exhibition Park Master Plan.

The Abbotsford–Mission metropolitan area of around 195,726 inhabitants as of the 2021 census is the 23rd largest census metropolitan area in Canada. It has also been named by Statistics Canada as Canada's most generous city in terms of charitable donations for nine straight years.The community of 375.55 square kilometres (145.00 sq mi) is the largest city by area in British Columbia. The municipality's southern boundary is the Canada–United States border. In Canada, it is bordered by the Township of Langley to the west, the District of Mission to the north, and the City of Chilliwack to the east. Abbotsford borders the town of Sumas, Washington, to the south. Much of Abbotsford has views of Mount Baker (to the southeast, in Washington) and the Coast Mountains (to the north).

Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre (ARHCC) is a 300-bed Canadian health care facility in the City of Abbotsford, British Columbia that houses the acute care Abbotsford Regional Hospital (ARH) operated by Fraser Health and the regional cancer facility (Abbotsford Centre) operated by the BC Cancer Agency. ARHCC opened in 2008 as: the first new hospital built in the province in 30 years, the first hospital in Western Canada to have a cancer centre integrated in its design from the ground up, Canada's first newly constructed hospital to meet LEED Gold environmentally friendly standards, the largest construction project to date in the Fraser Valley, the first in the province to be built using a (P3) public-private partnership model.It is also the city's largest worksite in terms of number of employees.

Clearbrook is a neighbourhood of the City of Abbotsford, British Columbia, located in the western portion of the city in the vicinity of Clearbrook Road. The area was originally known as Sandy Flats or West Abbotsford, and was located in the Poplar district of the District of Matsqui. It became known as Clearbrook by the late 1940s, most likely named after Clearbrook Road, a road that originally ran from Old Yale Road south across the Canada-USA border to nearby Clearbrook, Washington. The area was heavily logged in the early 20th century by the Abbotsford Lumber Company and other smaller logging firms which left behind nothing but large stumps and small trees. In 1930 Mennonite immigrants who had migrated to Canada from Russia beginning in the 1870s as well as those who had fled the Soviet Union in the previous decade began settling in the area. After several years spent clearing the land, these early settlers were able to plant strawberries and raspberries before eventually building dairy and poultry farms. After World War II a commercial area began to develop, with the intersection of Clearbrook Road and South Fraser Way serving as the focal point. Mennonites continued to move to the area, increasing the population to around 4,000 by 1967. A secondary school, the Mennonite Educational Institute, and two post-secondary schools -- Bethel Bible Institute and Mennonite Brethren Bible Institute (the two schools later merged to form what is now Columbia Bible College), were established in Clearbrook in the 1940s, as were a number of Mennonite congregations. By the 1980s the population of the area had reached around 20,000, due to a large influx of people from a variety of backgrounds, most notably Sikh and Hindu immigrants from India, mainly from Punjab. The area is now indistinguishable from the rest of what is now Abbotsford, although many Mennonite Brethren and Mennonite Church congregations continue to flourish in the Clearbrook area, along with Gurdwaras (Sikh temples) and a Hindu temple.
