Concord is an area of Washington in City of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, England. Historically, Concord was part of County Durham, joining the county of Tyne and Wear in 1974, following its creation. Washington is located between the cities of Durham, Sunderland and Newcastle upon Tyne hence, it has close ties to all three cities. The main street in Concord's centre is Front Street, which comprises several local shops, bars and cafés. Concord houses the Washington Millennium Centre, situated in The Oval, which provides youth clubs for children and young people, as well as having an outdoor football area and other regular activities. The village also has a small health centre, the Victoria Health Centre, situated on Victoria Road, near to the bus station. Neighbouring villages include Albany, Donwell, Usworth, Sulgrave and Follingsby. Nearby industrial estates include Stephenson and Hertburn, as well as the Nissan UK Factory. Washington School is also nearby, just north of the Sunderland Highway.

Washington Old Hall is a historic manor house in Washington, Tyne and Wear, England, United Kingdom. It lies in the centre of Washington, being surrounded by other villages. The building was the ancestral home of the family of George Washington (1732–1799), the first president of the United States.

It is the ancestral settlement of the Washington family, which George Washington descended from. It is located between Chester-le-Street, Gateshead and Sunderland. Washington was designated a new town in 1964 and became part of the Borough of Sunderland in 1974, the borough became a city in 1992. It has expanded dramatically since its designation, by new villages created and reassignment of areas from Chester-le-Street, to house overspill from surrounding cities. At the 2011 census, Washington had a population of 67,085, compared to 53,388 in 2001.

WWT Washington Wetland Centre is a wetland reserve managed by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Washington, Tyne and Wear, North East England. Established in 1975, its wildlife includes swans, geese, ducks, a family of Asian short clawed otters and a flock of Chilean flamingos. WWT works towards the conservation of wetlands and has a successful breeding program for some of the world's most endangered wildfowl. Included in the site is a nature reserve with hides to watch the wildlife, a saline lagoon and dragonfly ponds in which large species of dragonfly live along with newts, frogs and toads. The park sells bags of seed which can be used to get an up-close and personal encounter with most of their birds whilst feeding them. Species kept at the park include: Andean goose Baer's pochard Black necked swan Black swan Chilean flamingo Common crane Eider Hawaiian goose Mute swan Red-breasted goose Ringed teal Spur-winged goose White-faced whistling duck

The International Advanced Manufacturing Park is a British business park located in Washington, City of Sunderland, Tyne and Wear. The site is located next to Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK, the UK's second largest car manufacturing site. It is a development hub for manufacturing in the region and is a joint venture between Sunderland City Council and South Tyneside Council. The concept for this development was influenced by the previous success of the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Rotherham.The International Advanced Manufacturing Park development is designated as an Enterprise Zone and is split into two phases; phase one is 125 acres (51 ha) acres of land with 1.68 million square feet (156×10^3 m2) of building area attracting more than £150 million of investment; phase two is an additional 245 acres (99 ha) of land. Henry Boot plc is a development partner for the project. The scheme intends to create 7000 jobs and work started in 2018.The park is currently being used as the site of NHS Nightingale Hospital NE, a field hospital catering for COVID-19 patients in the North East.

The NHS Nightingale Hospital North East was one of the temporary NHS Nightingale Hospitals set up by NHS England to help to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. It was constructed inside the Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Advanced Manufacturing, Washington.

Royal Air Force Usworth or more simply RAF Usworth is a former Royal Air Force station near Sunderland. In 1958 the station was closed and the airfield became Sunderland Airport. Following the closure of the airport in 1984, the site has since been redeveloped as a manufacturing facility for Nissan cars - Nissan Motor Manufacturing UK, and as the location of an aviation museum, the North East Land, Sea and Air Museums (NELSAM).
