The Augustinian Convent of Toulouse was founded in 1286 for members of the Augustinian religious order. It was first established outside the city walls, near the Matabiau quarter, then, between 1310 and 1341 moved to the corner of rue du Musée and rue des Arts. In 1790 it ceased to be a convent and today its buildings house the Musée des Augustins.

The Musée des Augustins de Toulouse is a fine arts museum in Toulouse, France which conserves a collection of sculpture and paintings from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century. The paintings are from throughout France, the sculptures representing Occitan culture of the region with a particularly rich assemblage of Romanesque sculpture.

The church of the Sanctuaire Saint-Jérôme (former chapel of the Pénitents bleus), rue du Lieutenant-Colonel-Pélissier (former rue des Pénitents bleus), is a church built by the Compagnie royale des Pénitents bleus de Toulouse. It was built in the 17th century by architect Pierre Levesville under Louis XIII, the first French king to join the brotherhood. The Pénitents bleus called on Toulouse's finest artists to decorate their chapel, which didn't suffer too much during the French Revolution.

The Hôtel Thomas de Montval in Toulouse, France, is a 20th-century hôtel particulier (palace) built with Renaissance elements of the 16th century. The central porch gives access to the inner courtyard through a covered passage. The façades are built on two floors and are decorated with fluted pilasters in alternating brick and stone.

The Théâtre du Capitole de Toulouse is an opera house within the main administration buildings, the Capitole, of the city of Toulouse in south-west France. It houses an opera company, ballet company and symphony orchestra, Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse. The first performance space, a salle du jeu de spectacle, was created in the building in 1736 by Guillaume Cammas. Following a period of neglect, the current space was created during the rebuild of 1818. The theatre suffered fire damage in 1917 but was restored in 1923. The front of house areas were modernised in 1996. The current capacity is 1156 seats. Michel Plasson was responsible for the artistic direction of the company from 1973. He was followed by Jacques Doucet in 1981, by Nicolas Joel in 1991, and by Frédéric Chambert in 2009, after Joel's move to the Opéra national de Paris. Chambert's first season was marked by the use of alternate spaces while the theatre was renovated, and the theatre was re-opened for the beginning of the 2010–11 season. The opera company is a member of the Réunion des Opéras de France.

The Hôtel Jean de Pins in Toulouse, France, is a Renaissance hôtel particulier (palace) of the 16th century. Its double gallery on the courtyard is a listed historical monument since 1995.

The Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Jacques is a former hospital in Toulouse, located at 2 rue Charles-Viguerie. Already in operation in the 12th century on the left bank of the Garonne River, it became the largest hospital in Toulouse following numerous expansions in the 17th and 18th centuries. The building was listed and then classified as a Historical Monument in 1986 and 1988, and like the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, it has also been a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France since 1998. The last patients left the buildings in 1987. Today, the Hôtel-Dieu houses the administrative center of the Toulouse University Hospital (CHU), as well as the European Institute of Telemedicine, the European Research Center for Skin and Epithelial Tissue, and a museum of the history of medicine. A dental care service still exists within this building today.

The Hôtel Dumay, a historic building in Toulouse, France, is a Renaissance hôtel particulier (palace) of the 16th century. It has been listed as an official historical monument by the French Ministry of Culture since June 21, 1950. The Dumay hotel retains the name of the man who built it at the end of the 16th century, Antoine Dumay, a renowned physician, notably a doctor of Marguerite de Valois, Henri IV's first wife. It now houses the Museum of Old Toulouse.

The Capitole de Toulouse (Occitan: Capitòli de Tolosa; lit. 'Capitol of Toulouse'), commonly known as the Capitole, is the heart of the municipal administration of the French city of Toulouse and its city hall.

The Battle of Toulouse was fought between the Visigoths and the Western Roman Empire in 458. The battle was part of a great mid-winter expedition made across the alps by Emperor Majorian, taking a large army from Italy into Gaul with the goal of restoring the region to Roman rule after the disastrous reign of Avitus. Majorian and the Visigothic king Theodoric II fought a battle at Toulouse, in which the Visigoths were defeated. Majorian thereafter secured the cooperation of the Visigoths against the Suebi in Spain. However, fighting resumed, and Theodoric was finally defeated at Orléans in 463.
