Greens Norton is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England, just over 1 mile (1.6 km) north-west of Towcester. At the 2011 census the parish, including Caswell and Duncote, had a population of 1,526, a slight decrease since the 2001 census.

Caswell is a lost settlement within Greens Norton civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England, approximately 3 miles (5 km) north-west of Towcester, 8 miles (13 km) south-west of Northampton and 12 miles (19 km) north-west of Milton Keynes. It consists almost entirely of Caswell Park science and technology park, which has developed since the 1940s around a 19th-century farmhouse.

Towcester was a railway station on the Stratford-upon-Avon and Midland Junction Railway which served the town of Towcester in Northamptonshire, England between 1866 and 1964. It once served as an interchange for services to Stratford, Banbury and Olney. It also saw substantial traffic on racedays at Towcester Racecourse. Its closure came as the various interconnecting lines to the station closed one by one in the 1950s and 1960s. Passenger services ended in 1952, predating the Beeching closures.

Sponne School in Towcester, Northamptonshire, England, is the oldest secondary school in Northamptonshire, and one of the oldest in the country. Part of the school was originally Towcester Grammar School, until Grammar schools were abolished in Northamptonshire. In 1968, the Grammar school was joined with the next-door Secondary Modern school, and the school was renamed Sponne, after Archdeacon William Sponne, who was Rector at the nearby St. Lawrence Church in the 15th century and the original founder of the school. Sponne School is a mixed gender secondary school and sixth form, with 1358 pupils on the roll, around 200 of whom are in the Sixth Form. It is registered as a specialist science and music academy. The school is a member of the Tove Learning Trust, the CEO of which is Dr Jamie Clarke. The Headteacher of the school is Iain Massey.

Cold Higham is a village and civil parish in Northamptonshire, England. Cold Higham Parish, also includes Fosters Booth (West), Grimscote, and Potcote. It is adjacent to Weedon Bec, Pattishall, Eastcote and Astcote. The A5 runs along the eastern boundary of the parish, along the route of Watling Street, a former Roman road. The parish had a population of 289 at the time of the 2001 census (the 2010 estimated population is 321: 80 in Cold Higham, 241 in Grimscote). The civil parish population had risen to 290 at the 2011 census.The villages name means 'High homestead/village' or 'high hemmed-in land'. 'Cold' for its exposed situation. The village of Grimscote, which is in this parish, means "Grim's Cott", Grim being another name for Woden. One branch of the Higham family has been associated with the village. Thomas Higham is referred to as Squire in the early to mid 18th century. Both Edward Higham the Australian Politician and Tim Higham, also known as Tim FitzHigham are from this branch of the family.

From 1974 to 2021, it was the administrative centre of the South Northamptonshire district. Towcester is one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in the country. It was the Roman town of Lactodurum, located on Watling Street, today’s A5. In Saxon times, this was the frontier between the kingdom of Wessex and the Danelaw. Towcester features in Charles Dickens's novel The Pickwick Papers as one of Mr Pickwick's stopping places on his tour. The local racecourse has hosted many national horseracing events.

Towcester lays claim to being the oldest town in Northamptonshire and possibly, because of the antiquity of recent Iron Age finds in the town, to be one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in the country. There is evidence that it was settled by humans since the Mesolithic era (middle Stone Age). There is also evidence of Iron Age burials in the area.
