Leebotwood ( lee-BOT-wood) is a small village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. It is about 9 miles (14 km) south of Shrewsbury and 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north of Church Stretton.

Comley is a hamlet in Shropshire, England. It is near the A49 road, to the northeast of Church Stretton. It is situated between two prominent hills: Caer Caradoc to the south and The Lawley to the north. The elevation of the hamlet is around 200 metres (660 ft) above sea level. The hamlet is largely in the civil parish of Cardington, but Comley Farm is just within Longnor. Shropshire Wildlife Trust have a nature reserve in the former Comley Quarry.

Longnor is a village and civil parish off the A49 road, south of Dorrington and north of Leebotwood in Shropshire, England, with a population of 289. The nearest railway station is Church Stretton, 4.7 miles (7.6 km) away. The Cound Brook flows just west of the village and its medieval deer park. The village contains Longnor Hall and the Grade I listed medieval St Mary's Church. Regional Cycle Route 32/33 passes through, as do buses between Church Stretton and Shrewsbury and Radbrook Green. The village is also noted for a ghost, the White Lady of Longnor.

Woolstaston is a small village and civil parish in Shropshire, England, south of Shrewsbury and north of the nearest town, Church Stretton. It is located in the northern foothills of the Long Mynd and is situated near Leebotwood, Smethcott and Picklescott. The parish is geographically very small, covering only the village, the lanes leading to it and a small part of the Walkmills area to the north-east. The area also contains the Rectory Farm Bed & Breakfast. The village has a Church of England parish church dedicated to St Michael, dating to the 13th century but restored in its present form in 1864-65 when a transept, vestry and bell turret were added. Lalage Bown (1927-2021), educator, feminist and women's literacy advocate in Africa, was brought up in Woolstaston and her ashes were scattered in the churchyard.

Caer Caradoc (Welsh: Caer Caradog, the fort of Caradog) is a hill in the English county of Shropshire. It overlooks the town of Church Stretton and the village of All Stretton and offers panoramic views to the north towards the Wrekin, east to Wenlock Edge, and west over the nearby Long Mynd. It is not to be confused with another hillfort of the same name 1 km west of Chapel Lawn near Bucknell. Caer Caradoc rises sharply out of a narrow valley known as the Stretton Gap. It is the highest point on a high, narrow, northeast–southwest "whaleback ridge", sometimes called a hogsback ridge. The Wrekin is a very similarly shaped hill and on the same alignment, some 10 miles (16 km) to the north-east. Caer Caradoc can be fairly easily climbed from Church Stretton but the ascent/descent is steep; a more gentle climb is from the village of Cardington, which lies two miles (3 km) east. Much of the hill is composed from volcanic rocks, like the Wrekin and other hills, formed of narrow ridges of resistant Precambrian rock thrust upwards by movements deep down along the Church Stretton Fault. This fault line runs from Staffordshire in England to Pembrokeshire in Wales and can be seen on Ordnance Survey maps as a line of springs on this hill. The summit has an Ancient British Iron Age or late Bronze Age hill fort. It is this which the hill is named after – Caer Caradog in Welsh meaning Caradog's fort. Local legend has it that this was the site of Caratacus' last battle against the Roman legions during the Roman conquest of Britain, and that after the battle he hid in the cave near its summit. However, there is no river nearby and Tacitus refers to a river in his description of the site.

Smethcott (sometimes Smethcote) is a civil parish and dispersed hamlet near the village of Picklescott, in Shropshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 254. The name Smethcott has an Old English origin, and means "cottage(s) of the smiths". It was listed as a manor in the Domesday Book, where (spelt "Smerecote") it is recorded as having been held by Eldred, the tenant of its former owner Edmund, who now himself held it from a member of the Anglo-Norman nobility. A 13th century motte-and-bailey castle existed at Smethcott, of which now only the earthworks remain in a field near the church. The motte hill rises to an altitude of 247 metres (810 ft). The church, which is dedicated to St Michael and All Angels, was largely rebuilt in 1850 though retains some Norman features. The parish's war memorial, a stone cross, is in the churchyard and there is also a Roll of Honour inside the church. The village school closed in 1964 and today the nearest services (pubs, shops, etc.) are found in Picklescott and Leebotwood. The rural parish is situated in the northern foothills of the Long Mynd and includes Picklescott and the hamlet of Betchcott. The nearest town is Church Stretton. To the south is the village and parish of Woolstaston, with the Betchcott Brook forming the parish boundary.

Dorrington is a large village in Shropshire, England, it is located 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Shrewsbury. The population of the village was estimated as being 619 in 2008.The Cound Brook flows to the east of the village, and to the southwest is Netley Hall. The A49 road runs through the village, which has a number of businesses located both in a small business park and along the main road. The public house, The Horseshoes, is a Grade II listed building. The village also has a Persian restaurant, a convenience store, a butcher's shop, a post office and numerous other small businesses. There is also a primary school and a village hall. The village Church of England church is dedicated to Saint Edward.To the east is Ryton. Both Ryton and Dorrington lie in the civil parish of Condover. Dorrington forms a ward of the parish and sends four councillors to the parish council.

Dorrington railway station was a station in Dorrington, Shropshire, England. The station was opened in 1852 and closed in 1958.On the site of the station's goods yard, which is located just to the east of the village, is now an oil depot and a plant hire depot.

Church Stretton School is an 11–16 mixed secondary school with academy status in Church Stretton, Shropshire, England. Previously a community school administered by Shropshire Council, Church Stretton School converted to academy status in April 2013. The school is now part of the TrustEd Schools Partnership (previously the South Shropshire Academy Trust), which runs five secondary and four primary academies. The school became comprehensive in 1977.

Great Ryton is a small village in Shropshire, England, to the south of Shrewsbury. It is located less than 1 mile (1.6 kilometres) to the northeast of the village of Dorrington and the A49 road there. Together with the neighbouring hamlet of Little Ryton and Ryton Grove, the combined community is often referred to as simply "Ryton". (Not to be confused however with the village and parish of Ryton, which also is in Shropshire but in Bridgnorth district.) Ryton lies at around 106m above sea level. The population was estimated as being 142 in 2008.
