Dorrington railway station

Dorrington is a large village in Shropshire, England, it is located 6 miles (9.7 km) south of Shrewsbury. The population of the village was estimated as being 619 in 2008.The Cound Brook flows to the east of the village, and to the southwest is Netley Hall. The A49 road runs through the village, which has a number of businesses located both in a small business park and along the main road. The public house, The Horseshoes, is a Grade II listed building. The village also has a Persian restaurant, a convenience store, a butcher's shop, a post office and numerous other small businesses. There is also a primary school and a village hall. The village Church of England church is dedicated to Saint Edward.To the east is Ryton. Both Ryton and Dorrington lie in the civil parish of Condover. Dorrington forms a ward of the parish and sends four councillors to the parish council.

Shrewsbury and Atcham was a local government district with borough status in Shropshire, England, between 1974 and 2009. Shrewsbury was the only town in the borough; Atcham, although itself only a village, was included in the name as a reflection of the incorporation into the borough of the former Atcham Rural District. Other notable villages included Alberbury, Bayston Hill, Bomere Heath, Condover, Cressage, Cross Houses, Dorrington, Ford, Hanwood, Minsterley, Montford Bridge, Nesscliffe, Pontesbury, Uffington and Westbury. The Borough of Shrewsbury and Atcham covered 602 square kilometres (232 sq mi), which was 19% of the non-metropolitan county of Shropshire. To the north of the borough was the North Shropshire district and the Borough of Oswestry and to the south were the South Shropshire and Bridgnorth districts. The borough lay in the middle of Shropshire and on the border with Wales. A 2006 estimate put the population of the borough at 95,900 (this accounted for approx 40% of the total population for the non-metropolitan county). The district and its council was abolished on 1 April 2009 when the new Shropshire unitary authority was established, as part of the 2009 structural changes to local government in England.

Great Ryton is a small village in Shropshire, England, to the south of Shrewsbury. It is located less than 1 mile (1.6 kilometres) to the northeast of the village of Dorrington and the A49 road there. Together with the neighbouring hamlet of Little Ryton and Ryton Grove, the combined community is often referred to as simply "Ryton". (Not to be confused however with the village and parish of Ryton, which also is in Shropshire but in Bridgnorth district.) Ryton lies at around 106m above sea level. The population was estimated as being 142 in 2008.

Stapleton () is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Condover, in Shropshire, England. It neighbours the villages of Exfords Green and Dorrington, and is closely bypassed by the A49. It is near the town of Shrewsbury and near the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In Stapleton is an 18th-century church with a cemetery and First World War war memorial site.

Longnor is a village and civil parish off the A49 road, south of Dorrington and north of Leebotwood in Shropshire, England, with a population of 289. The nearest railway station is Church Stretton, 4.7 miles (7.6 km) away. The Cound Brook flows just west of the village and its medieval deer park. The village contains Longnor Hall and the Grade I listed medieval St Mary's Church. Regional Cycle Route 32/33 passes through, as do buses between Church Stretton and Shrewsbury and Radbrook Green. The village is also noted for a ghost, the White Lady of Longnor.

Condover railway station was located in the village of Condover, Shropshire.Originally built by the Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway and opened in 1852, the station closed in 1958 but its line, the Welsh Marches Line, is still operational. The station building is now a cattery and kennels.

Condover is a village and civil parish in Shropshire, England. It is about 5 miles (8 km) south of the county town of Shrewsbury, and just east of the A49. The Cound Brook flows through the village on its way from the Stretton Hills to a confluence with the River Severn. Condover is near to the villages of Dorrington, Bayston Hill and Berrington. The population of the Condover parish was estimated as 1,972 for 2008, of which an estimated 659 live in the village of Condover itself. The actual population measured at the 2011 census had fallen to 1,957. Condover contains a higher than normal proportion of listed buildings and over half of the village has been classified as a conservation area since 1976. The more than forty listed structures in Condover range from six separate early cruck-framed buildings and many black-and-white timbered cottages to the 19th-century Old Vicarage and several funerary monuments in the churchyard. Of the early half-timbered houses, the most impressive are Church House, the Old School House and the Small House that is now known as Condover Court.The parish contains two industrial estates, two sand and gravel quarries and a projected borough recycling plant is currently planned and under discussion.

Condover Hall is an elegant Grade I listed three-storey Elizabethan sandstone building, described as the grandest manor house in Shropshire, standing in a conservation area on the outskirts of Condover village, Shropshire, England, four miles south of the county town of Shrewsbury. A Royal manor in Anglo Saxon times, until the 16th century Condover Manor was in and out of Crown Tenure. In 1586 it was purchased by Thomas Owen, a Member of Parliament for and Recorder of Shrewsbury, from the family of the previous owner, Henry Vynar, a London merchant who had died in 1585. Owen had had a lease of the manor from 1578, and been in lawsuit with the family.For over sixty years from 1946 the Hall was run as a residential school, initially for blind children when owned by the RNIB and latterly under private ownership as a school for autistic children, covering boy boarders and coeducational day pupils. The school and college both closed during 2009.

Lyth Hill is a Local Nature Reserve in Shropshire which contains valuable habitats for wildlife and is associated with the novelist and poet Mary Webb.

Old Coppice is a hamlet in Shropshire, England. It is situated between Lyth Hill and Great Lyth.

Shrewsbury and Atcham is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2005 by Daniel Kawczynski, a Conservative.Under the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the constituency will only be subject to minor boundary changes, but is revert to the name of Shrewsbury - dropping the "and Atcham" to reflect the abolition in 2009 of the Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council. It will be first contested at the next general election.

Leebotwood railway station was a station in Leebotwood, Shropshire, England. The station was opened in 1852 and closed in 1958.
