KFAV (99.9 FM) is a commercial radio station located in Warrenton, Missouri, broadcasting to the western suburbs (the Westplex) of the Saint Louis, Missouri, area. KFAV airs a country music format, like its sister station on the AM dial, KWRE.In 2007, and in 2014, KFAV program director Mike Thomas was recognized by New Music Weekly magazine as the Country Program Director of the Year at the New Music Awards. Skunk Creek is a stream in Warren County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of Peruque Creek. The stream headwaters arise at 38°46′47″N 91°00′58″W at an elevation of approximately 800 feet. The stream flows generally north passing under Missouri Route M and on for about 2.5 miles to its confluence with Peruque Creek approximately one-half mile southeast of Wright City and I-70 at 38°49′01″N 91°00′27″W at an elevation of 682 feet. A variant name was "Skunk Branch". The creek was so named on account of skunks in the area.

The station serves mainly the western portion of the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area including Warren, St. Charles, Lincoln, Franklin, and parts of St. Louis counties. The station also serves the eastern portion of Mid-Missouri. KWRE also broadcasts on 95.1 on the FM dial via translator K236CK. The radio station is the sister station of KFAV. Both KFAV and KWRE play country music. KWRE is required to reduce power to 120 watts at night to protect other stations on the same channel. It uses a non-directional antenna at all times.

The Warrenton Nursing Home fire took place at the Katie Jane Memorial Home for the Aged in Warrenton, Missouri, on February 17, 1957, and killed 72 people. The 2+1⁄2-story facility, located sixty miles west of St. Louis, housed 155 elderly people and had been converted just two years earlier, after having previously served as the site of Central Wesleyan College.

Warrenton High School is a secondary school located in Warrenton, United States, in Warren County, Missouri. It is part of the Warren County R-3 School District. The current building was built in 1996. Prior to that period, the high school was housed in the current Black Hawk Middle School/Daniel Boone Building. Warrenton High School officially had 1006 students enrolled for the 2008-2009 academic year, according to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education,.It was not until 2005 that the school was officially called "Warrenton High School" by the district. Prior to that time there was a very-often-brought-up (and sometimes heated) debate as to whether the school's official name was "Warrenton High School" or "Warren Co. R-3 High School." This confusion is still present, as MSHSAA officially calls all sports teams "Warren County." Following the tradition of students, however, district superintendent John Long decided to call the school "Warrenton High School" officially as of '05.Warrenton High School's colors are red and white. Its mascot is the Warrior. Warrenton High School is on a 4 day week. It is the second biggest school in Missouri to have adopted it.
