Beaussais-sur-Mer

Ploubalay (French pronunciation: [plubalɛ]; Breton: Plouvalae) is a small town and former commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany in northwestern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune Beaussais-sur-Mer.

Les Essarts is the Forbes family estate at Saint-Briac, France, and the international family seat of the descendants of James Grant Forbes (b. Shanghai, China), a member of the Forbes family of China and Boston who settled in Brittany at Les Essarts. He is the grandfather of two famous politicians, Brice Lalonde, a Green Party candidate for President of France in 1981, and former US Secretary of State John Forbes Kerry, the Democratic nominee for President of the United States of America in 2004. Many of the Forbes family have socialized during summers spent in Brittany at Les Essarts. Les Essarts had been occupied and used as a Nazi headquarters during World War II. When the Germans fled, they bombed Les Essarts and burnt it down. The sprawling estate was rebuilt in 1954.

Plessix-Balisson (French pronunciation: [plɛsi balisɔ̃]; Breton: Ar Genkiz-Yuzhael) is a former commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany in northwestern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune Beaussais-sur-Mer. With an area of only eight hectares, Plessix-Balisson was the smallest commune of the region and the second smallest in France, after Castelmoron-d'Albret.

Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒaky də la mɛʁ], literally Saint-Jacut of the Sea; Breton: Sant-Yagu-an-Enez) is a commune in the Côtes-d'Armor département of Brittany in northwestern France.

Saint-Jacut Abbey (French: Abbaye de Saint-Jacut) is located in the east of the Côtes-d'Armor department in Brittany, at the end of the peninsula of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer. It is named after the 5th-century Saint Jacut. It is now a retreat and holiday centre run by a community of the Sisters of the Immaculate of Saint-Méen-le-Grand.

Languenan (French pronunciation: [lɑ̃ɡnɑ̃]; Breton: Langenan) is a commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany in northwestern France.

The Singing Stones of Brittany (or Pierres sonnantes du Guildo) are a number of rocks located on the left bank of the river Arguenon opposite the ruined castle of Gilles de Bretagne at Notre-Dame-le-Guildo, near Dinard in the Côtes-d'Armor, France. The stones are round and smooth, shiny black and extremely large, weighing in excess of ten tonnes each and are made of a heavy metallic stone that rings like a bell if struck by another smaller piece of the same stone. There are hundreds of tonnes of them and there is no indication of where they came from or how they got there. They are basalt, but this type of rock is usually associated with volcanic eruptions and there is no evidence or history of volcanic activity there. The stones are unlike any of the surrounding stones either on the ground or on the cliff face overlooking them; legend has it that these stones were spewed up by the giant Gargantua.

The canton of Dinard is a former canton of France, located in the arrondissement of Saint-Malo, in the Ille-et-Vilaine département, Brittany région. It had 24,417 inhabitants (2012). It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. It consisted of 6 communes, which joined the canton of Saint-Malo-2 in 2015.
