Eastwood Hanley Football Club is a football club based in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. They are currently members of the Staffordshire County Senior League Division One and play at Trentmill Road.

Bucknall and Northwood railway station was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway in 1864 to serve the Bucknall area of Stoke-on-Trent. Situated on the company's Biddulph Valley line, the station was served by passenger trains between Stoke and Congleton on the Biddulph Valley line and by trains between Stoke and Leek on the Stoke-Leek line. Passenger services on the Biddulph line ceased in 1927, but services on the Leek line continued until May 1956. After this date the station was still used for special and excursion trains until complete closure in 1962.The line to Leek remained in use (as far as Leekbrook) until 1988 and the track remains in place and it is planned for the line to reopen under plans put forward by Moorland & City Railways.

City Sentral was a planned major retail and leisure development in city of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. It was proposed by Realis Estates, and was a planned 650,000 sq ft (60,000 m2) regional shopping centre which was due to open in 2016. The centre was to include a Marks & Spencer department store, a wide range of new stores and shops, cafés and restaurants, 'vibrant public spaces', a Cineworld cinema complex, an 80-room hotel, parking for 1,000 cars and a new bus station.City Sentral's proposed catchment comprised 870,000 people with more than 360,000 people living within 20 minutes drive of the city centre.The architects for the bus station were Grimshaw Architects and Benoy was working on City Sentral. The branding of the proposed shopping centre divided residents in the city with many suggesting the deliberate misspelling of the word 'central' was unnecessary and open to ridicule. City councillors were asked to support a motion demanding Realis changed the name but it was rejected on the grounds that it may deter inward investment.

Central Power House (Hanley) supplied electricity to the county borough and later city of Stoke-on-Trent, England and the surrounding area from the 10th April 1913 to the 1960s. The power station was initially owned and operated by Stoke-on-Trent Corporation, then by the North West Midlands Joint Electricity Authority prior to the nationalisation of the British electricity supply industry in 1948. The power station operated in conjunction with power stations at Burslem, Hanley (original smaller power station on the same site as the Central Power House), Stoke-upon-Trent and Longton.

Hanley is one of the six towns that, along with Burslem, Longton, Fenton, Tunstall and Stoke-upon-Trent, amalgamated to form the City of Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. Hanley is the de facto city centre, having long been the commercial hub of Stoke-on-Trent. It is home to the Potteries Shopping Centre and many high street chain stores.

Stoke-on-Trent Repertory Theatre is a theatre in Stoke-on-Trent, England. It opened in 1997. The Stoke Repertory Theatre Players present a season of plays each year. The theatre is also a venue for local dance, drama and musical theatre companies.

Birches Head is an area of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. Formerly Birches Head Farm, the area has had modern housing built on it. The local secondary school is Birches Head Academy. The Caldon Canal runs through the area, which is easily accessible from the city centre, with main roads such as the A5009, A5008 and A5272. Birches Head Road runs from the junction of Chell Street and Hulton Street, at the west, to Leek Road at the east. It joins Leek Road at the site of the Hulton Abbey. Prior to 1950, the road from St Matthew’s Church, at the highest point of the village, down to Chell Street was called Leonard Road. The central part of the road in the village was Birches Head Road, and the final part running down to Leek Road, which was only a wide dirt track, was known as Birches Head Lane.

Fenton Manor railway station was a station in the Fenton area of Stoke-on-Trent, opened in 1889 by the North Staffordshire Railway on its line to Leek. It was located on Victoria Road and was one of two stations in the area, the other being Fenton on the Stoke-Derby Line. The station closed in 1956. The track is still in situ and the buildings still exist. The platform edges can still be traced.At the end of the station, towards Leek, is the Fenton Manor Tunnel which is 106 yards (97 m) long.
