It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau.

Harnett County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 133,568. Its county seat is Lillington, and its largest city is Dunn. Harnett County is part of the Fayetteville Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Luart is an unincorporated community located along old U.S. Route 421 in the Upper Little River Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States, situated between Mamers and the town of Lillington (Powell 1968, p. 303). Mamers is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 826 at the 2010 census. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau.

Anderson Creek is a census-designated place located in the Anderson Creek Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 13,636.Notable landmarks near the community include Anderson Creek Plaza and the Anderson Creek Golf Club. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. Anderson Creek is located approximately 7 miles (11 km) to the north Of Spring Lake, Pope Air Force Base and Ft. Bragg. Current talks are in place on incorporating Anderson Creek as a town, which would entail a post office being opened in the community. Currently, most Anderson Creek residents have Spring Lake addresses with the zip code 28390. Anderson Creek is served by the Harnett County Sheriff's department for law enforcement and Anderson Creek Emergency Services for fire and emergency services.Anderson Creek is a fast-growing community. Increased rapid growth of the community can be attributed to the increase of the military at the nearby Ft. Bragg, as well as the Davis Love III-created golf course, Anderson Creek Club. Just recently, at the intersection of Ray and Overhill's roads, a shopping center was added. The Anderson Creek Shopping Center comprises a Food Lion, China Star Chinese takeout, Domino's Pizza, Family Dollar and a Citi Nails nail salon. The movie gallery location is now a Fit 4 Life Health Club. The Tigers Pizza and Subs restaurant have moved to a new location near Highway 210 and Manchester Road in neighboring Cumberland County. The Anderson Creek Plaza includes a McDonald's restaurant, Subway restaurant, a Tobacco Station, a dry-cleaners (Monarch Cleaners) and the Anderson Creek Pharmacy. North Carolina's Department of Transportation is currently planning road expansion along Ray Road, and as a result the Short Stop Convenience Store & Gas station has closed, and the State Farm Insurance Company office as well as a barber shop have moved to the Anderson Creek Plaza from a nearby location on Ray Road.

Western Harnett High School is one of six high schools in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The other high schools include, Harnett Central, Triton, Overhills, the alternative school and Harnett Early College, located in Dunn, NC. WHHS is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lillington, the county seat on N.C. Highway 27. The school was officially dedicated in May 1978, along with Harnett Central High School. The mascot for WHHS is the eagle.

Summer Villa and McKay–Salmon House is a historic plantation complex and national historic district located near Lillington, Harnett County, North Carolina. It encompasses seven contributing buildings on a rural farm complex. Summer Villa was built about 1849, and is a two-story, five bay, Greek Revival style dwelling updated in the early 20th century Classical Revival style. It features a central, two-story pedimented portico supported by monumental Doric order columns with a one-story wraparound porch. The outbuildings associated with Summer Villa include the "Playhouse", carriage house (c. 1850), corn crib and three outbuildings. The McKay–Salmon House built in the last quarter of the 19th century and is a one-story decorated frame cottage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Summerville Presbyterian Church and Cemetery is a historic Presbyterian church and cemetery located near Lillington, Harnett County, North Carolina. The original church was built in 1811, burned down due to being struck by lightning, and was rebuilt in 1848. It is a simple rectangular frame building with Greek Revival and Gothic Revival design elements. The adjacent cemetery includes approximately 150 burial plots and a fine collection of mid and late-19th century markers.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Geographically, Anderson Creek Township occupies 66.85 square miles (173.1 km2) in southern Harnett County. There are no incorporated municipalities located in Anderson Creek Township, however, there are several unincorporated communities located here, including the community of Anderson Creek.

Upper Little River Township is one of thirteen townships in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 7,708 according to the 2000 census. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. Geographically, Upper Little River Township occupies 95.69 square miles (247.8 km2) in western Harnett County and is the largest township in the county by land area. There are no incorporated municipalities located in Upper Little River Township, however, there are several unincorporated communities located here, including the communities of Luart, Mamers, Ryes, and Seminole. A large portion of Raven Rock State Park is also located here.

Anderson Creek Club is a residential golf course community in the United States, located in the unincorporated community of Anderson Creek, North Carolina. Anderson Creek Club features a par 72 course. It was designed by Davis Love III, opened in 2001 it was awarded 4 1/2 Stars by Golf Digest. According to the Anderson Creek Club website: The golf course is "designed to accommodate any skill level, it boasts an outstanding practice facility with a 10,000 square foot putting green, practice area, chipping area, sand bunker and practice range with multiple targets."

Shawtown is an unincorporated community located in the Lillington Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States, on the southern side of the town of Lillington. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau.
