Minera (Welsh: Mwynglawdd; ) is a village and community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It adjoins the village of Coedpoeth. The community, which in addition to Minera village includes a number of smaller hamlets such as Gwynfryn and New Brighton and large areas of farmland, had a total population of 1,608 at the 2001 census, increasing slightly to 1,617 at the 2011 Census.

Coed Poeth railway station was a station in Coedpoeth, Wrexham, Wales. The station was opened on 15 November 1897, closed to passengers on 1 January 1931 and closed completely on 2 November 1964.

Berwig Halt railway station was a station in Minera, Wrexham, Wales. The station was opened on 1 May 1905 and closed on 1 January 1931.The location of the station was immediately south of the former level crossing on the unclassified Church Road, about 150 yard south-west of its junction with Cae Glas Lane.

Coedpoeth (Welsh: Coed-poeth; [kɔidpɔiθ] ) is a village and community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The built-up area with Minera had a population of 5,723 in the 2011 census.

Gwynfryn is a hill-top village in the community of Minera in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. Its name, originally that of the village chapel, is formed from the Welsh words bryn, "hill", and gwyn, "white": "white hill". At the time of the 2001 census, its population combined with that of the neighbouring, larger village of Bwlchgwyn was 1,148.Like the neighbouring villages of Minera and Bwlchgwyn, Gwynfryn is associated with the development of lead mines and limestone quarries in the vicinity. It is situated at the head of the Clywedog Valley in a hilly limestone area. The area was originally known as Plas-Gwyn ("white hall") Mountain, its name on the 1879 and 1900 Ordnance Surveys of Denbighshire, or as Pentre-Bais ("petticoat village"). According to a local story the latter name was changed to Gwynfryn by the disapproving village postmaster (or schoolmaster, in some versions).There was a Wesleyan Methodist chapel in Gwynfryn, which in 1905 had a congregation of 194. There was also a small Church in Wales chapel, St David's, which as of 2010 has been closed. The musician, composer and Eisteddfod adjudicator Thomas Carrington (1881–1961) was born in Gwynfryn.

Ogof Dydd Byraf is a cave which extends under Esclusham Mountain in the north-east Wales from its entrance in the south face of the Minera Limeworks quarry. It was originally discovered and explored in 1964 by the Wrexham Caving Club, before it was merged into the North Wales Caving Club.After a short series of mined passages there is a narrow 10 metre pitch into the main levels consisting of a series of well-decorated galleries. Some of the passages come very close to the cave Ogof Llyn Du whose access is blocked by a deep and difficult sump. Over the years this cave had been under threat by the quarry operations, but it is now protected as an SSSI. and owned by North Wales Wildlife Trust

The Minera Limeworks were extensive lime quarries and kilns at Minera in Wrexham, Wales. It was located at grid reference SJ253520, near the villages of Gwynfryn, Minera, and Coedpoeth and was locally referred to as The Calch.

Nant Mill is a country park in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is managed by Wrexham County Borough Council and named after a historic corn mill located on the site. It forms part of the Clywedog Trail and includes a visitor centre and two woods, Nant Wood and Plas Power, from which Offa's Dyke can be seen.
