Esclusham (Welsh: Esclus or Esclys) is a community and electoral ward in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The community includes the villages of Bersham, Rhostyllen, Aberoer, Llwyneinion and Pentre Bychan, as well as a number of smaller settlements, the park at Erddig, and an area of the Ruabon Moors west of Aber-oer known as Esclusham Mountain. The population of the community at the 2011 Census was 3,515.

Aberoer or Aber-oer (Welsh: [abɛrˈɔɨr] ) is a scattered settlement in Wrexham County Borough, Wales; prior to 1974 it was in Denbighshire. It is part of the community area of Esclusham, and is situated on the rural slopes of Esclusham Mountain above Rhostyllen. The placename can be translated from the Welsh language as "[the] cold stream". There was once a small colliery at Aberoer, working some of the lowest coals in the Middle Coal Measures, though few records remain of it.

Coedpoeth (Welsh: Coed-poeth; [kɔidpɔiθ] ) is a village and community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The built-up area with Minera had a population of 5,723 in the 2011 census.

Legacy railway station was built close to the location of the disused Legacy Colliery when the Great Western Railway built the Rhos Branch in 1901. The disused line built to serve the colliery in 1876 was used by the Rhos branch for a short distance through Legacy Station to the newly formed Legacy junction where the Rhos branch diverged to follow a more Northerly route, eventually meeting the Pontcysyllte branch. Legacy Station was open from 1901 to 1931 for passenger traffic and until 1963 for goods traffic.

Tanyfron (Welsh: Tan-y-fron) is a village in Wrexham County Borough in Wales. At the time of the 2001 census, the population of area Wrexham 006A, which includes Tanyfron and a number of other small settlements, was 1,347. The village is part of the local government Community of Brymbo and is in the Vron electoral ward. The built-up area had a population of well over 2,000 as of the 2011 census.

The Minera Lead Mines were a mining operation and are now a country park and tourist centre in the village of Minera near Wrexham, in Wrexham County Borough, Wales.

The Clywedog Trail is a 9-mile (14 km) footpath close to Wrexham in Wales. Starting at the Minera Lead Mines (53.0512°N 3.0811°W / 53.0512; -3.0811 (Clywedog Trail, Minera Lead Mines trailhead)) and running to King's Mills (53.0358°N 2.9750°W / 53.0358; -2.9750 (Clywedog Trail, King's Mills trailhead)), it follows the course of the River Clywedog. It is a haven for walking, relaxation and enjoying the peace of the wildlife. The Clywedog region played a role in the Industrial Revolution; ironmaking began in 1670, smelting iron ore with coke began in 1721 and John Wilkinson set up shop in 1761. For many years the area was one of the most important iron manufacturing centres in the world.

Southsea (Welsh: Glanrafon) is a formerly industrial village on the River Gwenfro in Broughton community, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The village came into being at the site of the Broughton Hall Brickworks and Plas Power Colliery. Its Welsh language placename (meaning "the bank of the river", glan yr afon) derives from that of a farm. Its exotic-sounding English name, however, comes from the South Sea Inn which used to stand over the road from the brickworks, and in a room of which the brickworks pay was distributed. The Wrexham historian Alfred Neobard Palmer noted that the name Southsea first appeared on the rate books as early as 1786, though also commenting that this was "an absurd name which should never have been adopted, especially as there was an appropriate name ready to hand".Southsea's church, All Saints, was formerly its church hall. The previous church, built in 1921 after the original building became unsafe due to mining subsidence, itself became unsafe and was demolished in 1984.

Llwyneinion () is a village in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is part of the community of Esclusham. Its name can be translated from the Welsh language as "Einion's Grove", although until at least the 19th century the name was more commonly written as Llwynenion, "Enion's Grove". Llwyneinion has appeared in records since at least the 17th century and was once one of the properties owned by Elihu Yale, having been bought by his father. There is a long industrial heritage in the area, with coal mining, iron ore mining, and iron smelting present from the 18th century onwards. Several pits were opened in the 1750s by Isaac Wilkinson, who used the ore at his nearby works at Bersham. The pits at Llwyneinion became the main source of iron ore for local industries in the 18th century, and a furnace was constructed there by Thomas Jones in the early 19th century. Despite this industrial past, the immediate area is now largely rural in character. In 2011 Llwyneinion won a Silver Gilt award in the small villages category of the Wales in Bloom awards.Llwyneinion Woods is now a registered village green and forms part of Wrexham Council’s Open Spaces.

Brymbo Football Club are a football club based in Tanyfron, Wrexham. They play in the North East Wales Football League Premier Division, which is in the fourth tier of the Welsh football league system. The team, originally Brymbo Steelworks F.C., was formed as part of Brymbo Steelworks.

New Brighton is a small hamlet near Minera, in north-east Wales.

Plas Power (WMCQR) railway station was a station in Southsea, Wrexham, Wales. The station was opened on 1 August 1889, closed to passengers on 1 March 1917 and closed completely on 2 April 1956.
