Aigle

Aigle railway station (French: Gare de Aigle) is a railway station in the municipality of Aigle, in the Swiss canton of Vaud. It is an intermediate stop on the standard gauge Simplon line of Swiss Federal Railways and the terminus of three 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) gauge lines operated by Transports Publics du Chablais: the Aigle–Leysin, Aigle–Ollon–Monthey–Champéry, and Aigle–Sépey–Diablerets lines.

Aigle Castle is a castle in the municipality of Aigle of the Canton of Vaud in Switzerland. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.

The 1584 Aigle earthquake occurred on 11 March at 23:00–23:30 local time in Switzerland. The earthquake had a moment magnitude of 5.9–6.4 and maximum Modified Mercalli intensity of VIII (Severe). The shock generated a tsunami in Lake Geneva. It was followed by 25 aftershocks in the following days. An aftershock on 14 March triggered a large rockslide that killed 320 people.

Saint-Triphon is a village and a Swiss heritage site of national significance in the municipality of Ollon in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

The Saint Blaise Chapel is an historic ruin located in the hamlet of Saint-Triphon in Switzerland. This romanesque style chapel, which existed still at least 1174, was partially restored in 2009.

Leysin is a municipality of the canton of Vaud in the Aigle district of Switzerland. It is first mentioned around 1231–32 as Leissins, in 1352 as Leisins.Located in the Vaud Alps, Leysin is a sunny alpine resort village at the eastern end of Lake Geneva in proximity to Montreux, Lausanne, and Geneva. In earlier years, Leysin was known for its TB sanatorias; today it is most famous for spectacular Alpine views across the Rhône Valley towards the Dents du Midi and year-round mountain sports and recreational facilities. The village of Leysin and hamlet of Veyges are a designated part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites.

Corbeyrier is a municipality in Switzerland in the canton of Vaud, located in the district of Aigle. It became a municipality in 1718.

Ollon is a municipality in the district of Aigle in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland, sited in the foothills of the mountains to the south-east of the Lake of Geneva. The old German language name Olun is no longer used.

Collombey railway station (French: Gare de Collombey, German: Bahnhof Collombey) is a railway station in the municipality of Collombey-Muraz, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is an intermediate stop on the Saint-Gingolph–Saint-Maurice line and is served by local trains only. The tracks of the 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) Aigle–Ollon–Monthey–Champéry line cross over the Saint-Gingolph–Saint-Maurice line north of the station. Two stations on the Aigle–Ollon–Monthey–Champéry line, Collombey-Muraz and Corbier, are each located about 230 metres (750 ft) from Collombey.

Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland (KLAS) (スイス公文学園高等部, Suisu Kumon Gakuen Kōtōbu) is a private high school in Leysin, Switzerland, founded by the Kumon Gakuen Educational Foundation in 1990. The school, a Shiritsu zaigai kyōiku shisetsu (私立在外教育施設) or an overseas branch of a Japanese private school, focuses on Japanese and Western university preparation for grades 10-12. KLAS is recognized by the Swiss Service de la Protection de la Jeunesse, Département Sociale et des Assurances and is a member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). KLAS is also accredited by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as an oversea educational facility. As such, the students obtain eligibility for entrance into Japanese universities upon graduation.

Vionnaz railway station (French: Gare de Vionnaz, German: Bahnhof Vionnaz) is a railway station in the municipality of Collombey-Muraz, in the Swiss canton of Valais. It is an intermediate stop on the Saint-Gingolph–Saint-Maurice line and is served by local trains only. The station serves the municipality of Vionnaz, located on the opposite side of the Canal du Bras Neuf.
