Ramstein Air Base

The Ramstein air show disaster occurred on Sunday, 28 August 1988 during the Flugtag '88 airshow at USAF Ramstein Air Base near Kaiserslautern, West Germany. Three aircraft of the Italian Air Force display team collided during their display, crashing to the ground in front of a crowd of about 300,000 people. There were 70 fatalities (67 spectators and 3 pilots), and 346 spectators sustained serious injuries in the resulting explosion and fire. Hundreds more had minor injuries. At the time, it was the deadliest air show accident in history until a 2002 crash at the Sknyliv air show that killed 77.

Ramstein American High School (or RHS) is a Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) high school in the Kaiserslautern district, Germany. RHS is a part of the Ramstein Community Schools in the Eastern Europe district that is run by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). Their mascot is the Royal, a lion with a crown. Ramstein American High School is located on Ramstein Air Base (RAB) which is just outside Kaiserslautern, Germany. The Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC), which RAB is a part of, has an approximate population of 53,000 Americans, the largest concentration of United States Military outside of the United States.In the 2022-23 school year, there are 863 students enrolled at the school.

Nanstein Castle (German: Burg Nanstein) is a ruined medieval castle above the town of Landstuhl in Germany, which has been partially reconstructed. The red sandstone rock castle dates from the 12th century and was once owned by Franz von Sickingen, who was mortally wounded during a siege of the castle in 1523.

The West Palatine Musicians Museum (German: Westpfälzer Musikantenmuseum) in Mackenbach, Germany, documents the history of the Westphalian Wandering Musicians, the heyday of which was between 1850 and the First World War. In addition to musical instruments of the travelling musicians, there is an extensive collection of African musical instruments, historical photos of the villages and houses of musicians and souvenirs of travellers are on display. The linkages between the Musikantenland ("Musicians' Land") and the culture of German emigrants, especially in the US, are also explained. The West Palatine Musicians Museum was opened in 1991 in the Bürgerhaus ("community hall") of Mackenbach in the Musikantenland. The responsible body is the municipality of Mackenbach. The museum was inspired by an exhibition on the theme of "Mackenbach Wandering Musicians" (Mackenbacher Wandermusikanten) as part of the 100th anniversary of the Mackenbach Music Society in 1983.

Landstuhl station is a station in the town of Landstuhl in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Deutsche Bahn classifies it as belonging to station category 3 and has three platforms tracks. The station is located in the network of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar (VRN) and belongs to fare zone 844. It is located on the Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway, which essentially consists of the Palatine Ludwig Railway (Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn), Ludwigshafen–Bexbach. It was opened on 1 July 1848 with the Kaiserslautern–Homburg section of the Palatine Ludwig Railway. The station became a junction station with the opening of the Landstuhl–Kusel railway on 20 September 1868. It has also been served by line S1 of the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn since December 2006.
