Landstuhl (German pronunciation: [ˈlantʃtuːl] ), officially the Sickingen Town of Landstuhl (German: Sickingenstadt Landstuhl), is a town in the Kaiserslautern district of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. It is the seat of Verbandsgemeinde Landstuhl, a kind of municipal association. Landstuhl is situated on the north-west edge of the Palatinate Forest, 11 miles (18 km) west of Kaiserslautern. It is also located near the U.S. Air Force base Ramstein Air Base.

Nanstein Castle (German: Burg Nanstein) is a ruined medieval castle above the town of Landstuhl in Germany, which has been partially reconstructed. The red sandstone rock castle dates from the 12th century and was once owned by Franz von Sickingen, who was mortally wounded during a siege of the castle in 1523.

Landstuhl station is a station in the town of Landstuhl in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Deutsche Bahn classifies it as belonging to station category 3 and has three platforms tracks. The station is located in the network of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Neckar (VRN) and belongs to fare zone 844. It is located on the Mannheim–Saarbrücken railway, which essentially consists of the Palatine Ludwig Railway (Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn), Ludwigshafen–Bexbach. It was opened on 1 July 1848 with the Kaiserslautern–Homburg section of the Palatine Ludwig Railway. The station became a junction station with the opening of the Landstuhl–Kusel railway on 20 September 1868. It has also been served by line S1 of the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn since December 2006.

The Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), also known as Landstuhl Hospital, is a U.S. Army post in Landstuhl, Germany, near Ramstein Air Base. It is an amalgamation of Marceau Kaserne (German: Infanterie-Kaserne) and Wilson Barracks (Kirchberg-Kaserne), which were merged on October 15, 1951. As a Level II trauma center, it has 65 beds, and is the largest American hospital outside the United States.

Ramstein American High School (or RHS) is a Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) high school in the Kaiserslautern district, Germany. RHS is a part of the Ramstein Community Schools in the Eastern Europe district that is run by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). Their mascot is the Royal, a lion with a crown. Ramstein American High School is located on Ramstein Air Base (RAB) which is just outside Kaiserslautern, Germany. The Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC), which RAB is a part of, has an approximate population of 53,000 Americans, the largest concentration of United States Military outside of the United States.In the 2022-23 school year, there are 863 students enrolled at the school.

Ramstein Air Base or Ramstein AB (IATA: RMS, ICAO: ETAR) is a United States Air Force base in Rhineland-Palatinate, a state in southwestern Germany. It serves as headquarters for the United States Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) and also for NATO Allied Air Command (AIRCOM). Ramstein is located near the town of Ramstein-Miesenbach, which stands outside the base's west gate, in the rural district of Kaiserslautern. The base supports forward elements deploying to Eastern Europe and Africa. The construction of the air base was a project designed and undertaken by the French Army and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1949 to 1952. It was an example of international collaboration: designed by French engineers, constructed by local businesses and large number of temporary and migrant workers of Italy, Portugal, Spain, Greece, and Turkey and operated by Americans. Ramstein AB is part of the Kaiserslautern Military Community (KMC), where more than 54,000 American service members and more than 5,400 US civilian employees live and work. U.S. organizations in the KMC also employ the services of more than 6,200 German workers. Air Force units in the KMC alone employ almost 9,800 military members, bringing with them nearly 11,100 family members. There are more than 16,200 military, U.S. civilian, and U.S. contractors assigned to Ramstein AB alone. The east gate of Ramstein Air Base is approximately 16 kilometres (10 mi) from Kaiserslautern (locally referred to by Americans as "K-Town"). Other nearby civilian communities include Landstuhl, some 5 kilometres (3 mi) from the west gate.

The Ramstein air show disaster occurred on Sunday, 28 August 1988 during the Flugtag '88 airshow at USAF Ramstein Air Base near Kaiserslautern, West Germany. Three aircraft of the Italian Air Force display team collided during their display, crashing to the ground in front of a crowd of about 300,000 people. There were 70 fatalities (67 spectators and 3 pilots), and 346 spectators sustained serious injuries in the resulting explosion and fire. Hundreds more had minor injuries. At the time, it was the deadliest air show accident in history until a 2002 crash at the Sknyliv air show that killed 77.
