Coole Pilate is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England, which lies to the north of Audlem and to the south of Nantwich. The area is predominantly rural with scattered farms, and a total population of 60 people. At the 2011 Census the population remained less than 100. Moss Hall, Audlem, is a manor house 0.5 miles (1 km) north-west of Audlem, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I-listed building. The Hall overlooks the Shropshire Union Canal.Moss Hall was built in 1616 for Hugh Massey, then owned by Edward Legh of Baguley Hall. It is timber-framed with rendered infill, and close studded with a middle rail to both floors. It is in two storeys with attics, and has a plain tile roof. The entrance front has five bays with four gables. The house is nearly symmetrical, is E-shaped, and is set on an ashlar plinth. In its centre is a two-storey gabled porch wing, which is a later addition. The first floor is jettied and supported on carved brackets. It has been described as "a surprisingly complete example of a gentleman's house of the early 17th century".

Predominantly rural with scattered farms, the civil parish includes the small settlement of Old Hall Austerson at SJ656493, about two miles south of Nantwich centre. In 2001, the total population was a little under 150, increasing to 194 at the 2011 Census. Nearby villages include Broomhall Green, Hack Green, Hankelow, Sound Heath and Stapeley.

Ball Farm is the oldest surviving building in the village of Hankelow, near Audlem in Cheshire, England, and is thought to date from 1510. Most of its original timber frame was replaced by brick in the 19th century, but some close studding and small framing survives, as well as part of a mullioned-and-transomed window. Ball Farm was occupied by the Hassalls, a prominent local family, and might have once been used as a district court of justice. It is listed at grade II* by the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England, the middle of the three grades, denoting "particularly important buildings of more than special interest".

Audlem is a village and civil parish located in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire in North West England, approximately 7 mi (11 km) south of Nantwich. Close to the border with the neighbouring county of Shropshire, the village is eight miles (13 km) east of Whitchurch and seven miles (11 km) north of Market Drayton. According to the 2001 census, the population of the entire civil parish was 1,790, increasing to 1,991 at the 2011 Census.

Audlem railway station was a station on the former Great Western Railway between Market Drayton and Nantwich, opened in 1863. It served the village of Audlem in Cheshire, England until closure in 1963. The station was immortalised in the song "Slow Train" by Flanders and Swann.
