Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) is the 31st public university of Bangladesh (according to University Grants Commission of Bangladesh), located in Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka. It is the first public university of Bangladesh to be run by the Bangladesh Armed Forces. It was established under the Bangladesh University of Professionals Act, 2009.

Dhaka-16 is a constituency represented in the Jatiya Sangsad (National Parliament) of Bangladesh since 2008 by Elias Uddin Mollah of the Awami League.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU) (Bengali: বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান মেরিটাইম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) was established in 2013, the 37th public university of the country. It is the first maritime university in Bangladesh, the 3rd maritime university in South Asia and the 12th maritime university in the world. It has issued its first calls for admission in December, 2016.

Uttara South (Bengali: উত্তরা দক্ষিণ, romanised: Uttora dokkhin) is an elevated metro station of the Dhaka Metro's MRT Line 6. This station is located in Uttara, a suburb of Dhaka. It is estimated that the station will be opened on the last week of March 2023. It became operational from 31 March 2023.

Pallabi (Bengali: পল্লবী, romanised: Pollobee) is an elevated metro station of the Dhaka Metro's MRT Line 6. This station is located at Pallabi, Dhaka. The station was opened on 25 January 2023.

Pallabi (Bengali: পল্লবি) is a thana of Dhaka District in the Division of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Pallabi Thana total area is 25.28 square kilometres (9.76 sq mi), located in between 23°48' and 23°52' north latitudes and in between 90°20' and 90°23' east longitudes. It is bounded by turag and uttara thanas on the north, mirpur model and shah ali thanas on the south, bimanbandar, cantonment and kafrul thanas on the east, savar upazila on the west.

Mirpur 11 (Bengali: মিরপুর ১১, romanised: Mirpur egaro) is an elevated metro station of the Dhaka Metro's MRT Line 6. This station is located in Mirpur, a neighbourhood of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The station commenced operation from 15 March 2023.

Kalshi Islamia High School is a primary and secondary school at Mirpur in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 1982. It is also known as Kalshi Islamia Uccha Biddalay and to local people it is also known as Kalshi School. Its coordinates are 23°49′18.4″N 90°22′36.9″E. The school has about 60 teachers and staff and 1,200 students. It has both girl and boy students. Students from this institution appears for P.E.C (also known as P.S.C) Junior School Certificate (J.S.C.) and S.S.C public examinations. Primary and secondary school academic subjects are assigned by Dhaka Education Board.

RAJUK Uttara Apartment Project (abbreviated as RUAP) is a residential area located in Sector 18 of Uttara, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the first and largest apartment project in the country. Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha launched this project in 2011 to ensure housing in the metropolis for low and middle-income people, targeting an estimated population of 80,000, with a completion period of five years. The construction project included 240 sixteen-storey buildings on 214 acres land, with a total of 18,732 apartments. The buildings were divided into three blocks. In 2019, the project period was extended to 2022, with a final budget of ৳10,586 crore. As of 2021, about 2,000 families were living there. In November 2020, it was revealed that 281 apartments of the project had been allocated through lobbying and bribes instead of a lottery system. After the launch of MRT Line 6 in 2022, the demand for apartments in the project area increased. It was reported that 450 apartments of the project were still unsold. In 2024, the construction progress of Block A of the project reportedly reached 95%, and the authorities were expected to complete the construction by December of the same year. Later, the project duration was extended to June 2025. Although construction of 79 buildings in Block A was completed under the project, the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase cancelled the plan to build buildings of the B and C block with financial and technical assistance from the Malaysian government. As a result, the Project Implementation Committee and Project Steering Committee decided to create separate projects for Blocks B and C. Consequently, Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha proposed a new project with a budget of ৳16,827 crore to construct 7,544 apartments in two blocks with a target completion year of 2030. However, since no feasibility study had been conducted as required for a project worth more than ৳50 crore, objections were raised about the project at a meeting of the Project Evaluation Committee in June 2025.

Sheikh Tamim highway is a street located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In the 2010s or earlier, a pathway was constructed through Kalshi to connect the Dhaka Cantonment with the Mirpur Cantonment. In 2018, a plan was made to construct a flyover from ECB Square to Kalshi intersection, which also included widening the existing streets located under the proposed flyover. By 2023, the widening of the 3.7 km-long pathway stretching from ECB Square through Kalshi to Mirpur DOHS was completed. On 19 February of the same year, the widened street was inaugurated along with the Kalshi flyover. On 23 April 2024, the street was named after Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar.
