Ingleside is part of the Forest District region, about 2 kilometres from the coast at Mona Vale. Ingleside Heights and Tumbledown Dick are localities in the west of the suburb. The area is mostly semi-rural properties and bushland with increasing housing developments.

Terrey Hills is a suburb of Northern Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 25 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district in the local government area of Northern Beaches Council. It is part of the Forest District and Northern Beaches region.Terrey Hills is a very leafy suburb and in some areas semi-rural, with many people boarding their horses in the area. Terrey Hills owes its name to the two original land holders Samuel Hills and Obediah James Terrey. Obediah Terrey acquired 640 acres (2.6 km2) in 1881 and Samuel Hills owned 100 acres (0.40 km2) nearby.The area was used by Indigenous people prior to European settlement, and rock carvings exist in some places. One set of carvings is located near Larool Road and depicts hunting scenes with kangaroos, human figures and footprints. Terrey Hills Post Office opened on 17 June 1935.

Established as Narrabeen Girls' High School and in 1959 as Narrabeen Boys' High School, the schools merged in 1976 to form Narrabeen High School; and then, in 2000, became the first specialist sports high school in New South Wales as Narrabeen Sports High School. The school caters for approximately 850 students from Year 7 to Year 12. The school is operated by the New South Wales Department of Education; the principal is Heidi Currie. Narrabeen Sports High School is a member of the NSW Sports High Schools Association.

Turimetta Beach is a beach in Sydney's Northern Beaches. It is 350 metres long and is backed by steep bluffs. Swimming can be hazardous because of rips that usually form at the centre and both ends of the beach. The beach is not patrolled by lifeguards. Turimetta is more often than not a swimmers' beach only. The surf quality is poor and surfers usually frequent North Narrabeen Beach to the south or Warriewood Beach to the north. In 2016, a swimmer drowned in the surf and a 14-year-old boy required rescue from the rocks closer to the northern end of the beach.The headland is a popular rock fishing spot so many shark sightings, both confirmed and unconfirmed, have occurred.
