King's Lynn Academy

King Edward VII Academy (known as KES Academy) is a large, mixed comprehensive secondary school in Gaywood Road (A148), King's Lynn, Norfolk, England with around 1,300 pupils, including about 300 in sixth form education. Prior to the school year beginning in September 1979, KES was an all-boys state grammar school. The school became an academy sponsored by the College of West Anglia's CWA Academy Trust in September 2014, but, following the college's withdrawal from school sponsorship in the summer of 2017, it became part of the Eastern Multi-academy Trust. The school joined Inspiration Trust in September 2021.

Gaywood is an eastern suburb of King's Lynn, in the King's Lynn and West Norfolk district, in the county of Norfolk, England. Previously a civil parish in Freebridge Lynn Rural District, Gaywood became part of the borough of King's Lynn in 1935.Gaywood Hall, the seat of the Bagge baronets in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, was built on the site of a mediaeval palace of a Bishop of Norwich, John de Gray. The house later became part of King's Lynn Technical College. The church of St Faith is in the Early English style, restored by Walter Caroe in the 1920s; the church is now shared by a partnership of Anglican and Methodist congregations.According to William White's History, Gazetteer and Directory of Norfolk (1883), Gaywood was in the late 19th century a "considerable village" with a population of 805. The population expanded significantly in the 1960s after King's Lynn became an overflow town for London in 1962 and housing estates were built here and nearby in North and South Wootton. Gaywood is now a suburb of King's Lynn. There are several schools in the Gaywood area; these include Gaywood Primary School, St Martha's Catholic Primary School, King's Oak Academy (formerly Howard Infant and Nursery School), Howard Junior School, King Edward VII School and King's Lynn Academy (formerly Gaywood Park High School). The Gaywood area has a wide variety of local shops, including a Tesco supermarket, Aldi store, a launderette, several cafes and various takeaways. The Gaywood Church Rooms are used as a meeting place for many different groups, including Gaywood Babies and Toddlers Group. It also used to be the home of the Gaywood Methodist Playgroup (established in 1968), but this closed for the final time in July 2016, due to a lack of children attending and ever increasing costs.The Gaywood Park is a large open area of land which is used for activities such as football, cricket and dog-walking, as well as a weekly Sunday Market and car boot sale. It is also the site of the Gaywood Community Centre, the Gaywood Park Bowls club and the Gayton Road Cemetery, which are all accessible via the unmarked 'Cemetery Drive' road which does not show on any of the online maps for the area.

King's Lynn Football Club was an English association football club based in King's Lynn, Norfolk. The club was founded in 1881 and they were wound up at the High Court on 25 November 2009 with debts of £77,000, going out of business in December after a failed appeal. The club was re-formed in January 2010 as Lynn FC and later renamed King's Lynn Town.

King's Lynn Town Football Club is a football club based in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. Nicknamed 'The Linnets', they are currently members of the National League North and play at the Walks. They were founded in 2010 as a phoenix club of King's Lynn F.C., which were wound up a year earlier.

North Lynn is an urban residential area of King's Lynn, in the King's Lynn and West Norfolk district, in the county of Norfolk, England. There are three main parks in North Lynn: Peck's field (named after the previous owner of the land before the North Lynn estate was created), The Rec (RECreation Ground) and Colombia Park. North Lynn has one junior school, one primary school and one infant school, respectively: St Edmund's Junior School, St Edmund's (Foundation Community) Primary School, and Highgate Infant School. Some children go to Eastgate Primary instead of St Edmond's (Foundation Community). North Lynn also has two large ponds popular with anglers. These are collectively known as the "long ponds", and were created as reserves of fresh water in case of emergency.

King's Lynn railway station is the northern terminus of the Fen line in the east of England, serving the town of King's Lynn, Norfolk. It is 41 miles 47 chains (66.9 km) from Cambridge and 96 miles 75 chains (156.0 km) measured from London Liverpool Street. The station and all trains calling here are operated by Great Northern (with service to and from London King's Cross.) It has been the only station in the town since the closure of South Lynn railway station in 1959.

Our Lady of the Annunciation Church is a Roman Catholic parish church in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. It was built in 1897, but incorporates parts of the former church on the same site that was built in 1845 and designed by Augustus Pugin. It is located on the corner of London Road and North Everard Street in the centre of the town. Its construction was partially paid for by the then Prince of Wales, Edward VII. It was also the national shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham until 1934. It is now a pontifical shrine, and was awarded Grade II listed status in 2022.

Springwood High School is a secondary school with academy status in the town of King's Lynn in Norfolk, England. It was formed by the merger of several schools when the government began to abolish the tripartite system in the mid-1960s. Springwood has over 1700 pupils, including a Sixth Form with over 300 pupils and has been designated a Specialist Performing Arts College.Ofsted consistently rate the school as "Good", the most recent inspection having been in November 2022.

The population of the district at the 2021 census was 154,325.Part of the borough lies within the Norfolk Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The borough lies on the coast, facing both The Wash to the west and the North Sea to the north. The neighbouring districts are North Norfolk, Breckland, West Suffolk, East Cambridgeshire, Fenland and South Holland.
