Liberal is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. It lies on Oregon Route 213 between Mulino and Molalla. The community of Liberal grew up three miles south of Mulino on the south side of the Molalla River. The Liberal crossroads is located at the mutual corners of the donation land claims established in the 1840s by Harrison Wright, William Russell, W. D. Woodcock, James Barnard and Francis Jackson. As the original land claims began to be parceled out, the area was settled in the mid-19th century, primarily by Swiss and German families. According to local tradition, the community was named after the "liberal" credit practices of the founder of the Liberal Store.Liberal currently includes the historic Liberal Store, an active sawmill, a chicken feed mill, a multi-generational family farm, and the Evangelical Community Chapel, a church that has continuously held weekly meetings since its founding in 1900.

International Reptile Rescue, formerly known as Hart's Reptile World, is a not-for-profit reptile rescue organization located in Canby, Oregon, United States. The organization works to rescue all members of the reptile family, including snakes, turtles, tortoises, lizards, alligators and crocodiles. Founded in 1978, the organization also educates the public about reptiles through outreach programs, including offering lectures in educational settings such as libraries, science museums, television appearances and specially arranged birthday parties. Under the name of Hart's Reptile World, the organization was often featured in the local Oregon and Washington media, as well as larger media venues. For example, some pythons from the exhibit were featured in the video Sowing the Seeds of Love by Tears for Fears, and Wilbur the Crocodile was featured in the Michael Jackson video "Leave Me Alone."

Carus is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. It is located about seven miles south of Oregon City, on Oregon Route 213.Carus had a post office from 1887 to 1907. The name may have come from a misreading of the name "Carns" on the application to the Post Office Department. It is unknown whether it was to be named for a place in another state or for a local family. The Fred Vonder Ahe House, now located in Molalla, served as the post office when it first opened. David Hunter was the first postmaster.In 1915 the community had two sawmills, a daily stagecoach to Oregon City and a twice-daily stagecoach to Canby. As of 1990 there was a school and a church. Carus Elementary School is part of the Canby School District. A cemetery near the community is owned by the Followers of Christ.

Macksburg Lutheran Church is a historic Lutheran church located in Canby, Oregon, United States. The church was built between 1892 and 1894, in order to serve the needs of German-speaking immigrants from Germany and Austria. Historically, the church offered sermons and Sunday school in both the German and English languages, on an alternating basis.Macksburg Lutheran Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 14, 1982.

Macksburg is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States four miles southeast of Canby. It is located on Gribble Prairie between the Pudding River and the Molalla River. Originally named "Macksburgh", Macksburg had a post office from 1884 to 1903. The town was named after William and Louise Mack, pioneers of 1852.In 1915, the community had a population of 200, a public school, two Lutheran churches, a grange hall and several stores. As of 1992, one church remained and the school, grange hall and stores were closed.Macksburg Lutheran Church was built in 1892 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Early members of the church were originally from Germany and Austria, so all services were conducted in German until 1929, and alternated between English and German until 1943.

Fox Park (officially Sally Fox Park) is a 2.3-acre (0.93 ha) public park in Molalla, Oregon, United States.

The Fred Vonder Ahe House or Von der Ahe House was built in 1869 in the small community of Carus, Oregon, near Molalla for German immigrant Fred Vonder Ahe and his wife Marie Louisa Kleine Vonder Ahe. Fred arrived in New York in 1852 and followed the Oregon Trail to Oregon. He saved enough to acquire a 320-acre (130 ha) farm in 1857, and sent for his fiancé Marie to join him in 1858. In 1887 the house became the Carus post office, as it was the oldest and most significant house in the community. In 1972 the house was under threat of demolition. It was acquired by the Molalla Area Historical Society and moved to a site in Molalla next to the Horace L. Dibble House.The Vonder Ahe House is described as a vernacular interpretation of the Federal style. It is an unusual example of a two-story plank house with well-preserved interior details. The associated summer house was moved with the main house to the new site. The house and summer kitchen were placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 26, 1976. Both the Vonder Ahe House and the Dibble House are operated as a museum by the Molalla Area Historical Society.
