Heinsberg–Lindern railway

Dremmen is a former municipality in the district of Heinsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It has been part of the district town of Heinsberg since 1972. It includes the main village Dremmen and the villages Herb and Boverath.

Oberbruch Industry Park (German: Industriepark Oberbruch), is a former 110-hectare (270-acre) site of Akzo Nobel in Heinsberg, Germany's most western district, near the Dutch border. It was founded in 1891 as a location for fiber industries. It is the birthplace of the German rayon and man-made fiber industry. Today, it is a diversified multi-user site, hosting companies from fields of industry such as high-performance fibers and energy technologies as well as from industrial biotechnology. Oberbruch Industry Park is the competency center for carbon (fiber) technology in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Since 2000, the industry park has been operated by the Dutch energy company Nuon, the first independent industrial park operator not to come from the chemical industry. Since January 7, 2009 N.V. Nuon Energy has been part of Vattenfall.

Linnicher Mühlenteich (also: Teichbach, in its lower course: Erlenbach) is a stream in North Rhine-Westphalia, western Germany. It is an artificial branch of the River Rur between Linnich and Hückelhoven.

Heinsberg (Rheinland) station is a terminus in Heinsberg in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia and is at the end of the Lindern–Heinsberg railway. The entrance building and the freight sheds were successively demolished in 1997 after the closure of the passenger service in 1980, the end of freight traffic to Heinsberg in 1994 and the closure of the line between Oberbruch and Heinsberg in 1997. In preparation for the reactivation of passenger services on 15 December 2013, a new island platform was erected to the east of the site of the demolished entrance building.

It is situated near the border with the Netherlands, on the river Rur, approx. 6 km north-east of Heinsberg and 15 km south-east of Roermond.

Hückelhoven (German: [ˈhʏkl̩ˌhoːfn̩] ; Limburgish: Hukkelhaove [ˈɦʏkəlˌɦɔː˦və]) is a town in the district of Heinsberg, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is situated on the river Rur, approx. 10 km east of Heinsberg, 20 km south-west of Mönchengladbach and approximately 15 km from the border with the Netherlands.

Lindern station is in Lindern in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on the Aachen–Mönchengladbach railway. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station.Lindern station is at the junction where the Heinsberg–Lindern railway separates from the Aachen–Mönchengladbach railway. Since the points where the line to Heinsberg now branches off the main line is now to the east of the station, it is considered under the German regulations for operating railways (Eisenbahn-Bau- und Betriebsordnung) as a Haltestelle ("halt place"). The Aachen–Mönchengladbach–Düsseldorf rail link is now important for commuters from the nearby area (Heinsberg/Linnich). The Heinsberg–Lindern line was only used for freight transport between 1980 and 2013. Passenger services on the line to Heinsberg were resumed in 2013. Construction in preparation for the resumption of services commenced in Lindern station in 2012.

Wildenrath is a township within the municipality of Wegberg in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The town is situated on the Bundesstraße 221 between Wassenberg and Arsbeck on the edge of Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park and close to the border with the Netherlands. For 40 years, the town was the home of the British military airfield, RAF Wildenrath. After the airfield closed in 1992, it became the Test- and Validationcenter Wegberg-Wildenrath, a railway test centre operated by Siemens Mobility.
