A28 road

Kennington is a suburb of Ashford and civil parish in Kent, England. It is about a mile northeast of the town centre and north of the M20 motorway, and contains the 12th-century church, St Mary's. The main A28 Canterbury Road and A2042 Faversham Road run through the village, and the A251 Trinity Road skirts the western edge. In recent years the village has expanded with the building of new housing estates in Little Burton, Trinity Road, Conningbrook Lakes, and planned for Conningbrook Park and Eureka Park. The Great Stour river and the Kennington stream run through the area.

Boughton Lees is a village in the civil parish of Boughton Aluph, Ashford District, Kent, England. It stands on the main Ashford-Faversham road, some 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north of Ashford. The village church is Saint Christopher's Church, while the nearby All Saints’ Church, Boughton Aluph is the venue for the Stour Music Festival. Cricket has been played on the village green, The Lees, for over 200 years. The Eastwell Manor, a country-house hotel, is situated on the edge of the village in Eastwell Park.

Saint Christopher's Church is a mediaeval Grade II listed church in Boughton Lees near Ashford, Kent, part of the Church of England.The building was originally a mediaeval hall house. It was later a barn and the village school. In the 1950s, it was adopted as a chapel of ease.On 13 August 1984, the Church was placed on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, as a Grade II building.

All Saints' Church is a 13th-century pilgrims' Grade I listed church in Boughton Aluph near Ashford, Kent. It is part of the Church of England.Built in the thirteenth century by a man named Adulphus to replace a Saxon church, it was enlarged in the 14th century by Sir Thomas Aldon, one of Edward III of England's courtiers. The building was restored in 1878. On 27 November 1957, the church was placed on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, as a Grade I building. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, it was extensively renovated, including the cleansing and restoration of the windows in 2009. The church continues to be an active centre for worship, and is part of the United Wye Benefice. Every June, the building is used to host the Stour Music Festival.

The Stour Music Festival is a festival of early music held in the Stour valley, Kent, England, founded by countertenor Alfred Deller in 1962. The principal venue is a medieval church, All Saints' Church, Boughton Aluph. The building has good acoustics and was used for some of Deller's recordings. After Deller's death in 1979, his son Mark Deller continued the festival, and celebrated its 50th birthday alongside his father's centenary in 2012. In 2020 Robert Hollingworth, known for his work with I Fagiolini, took over as festival director.

Boughton Aluph and Eastwell are two civil parishes in the Borough of Ashford in Kent, England sharing a joint parish council. They include three settlements: the villages of Boughton Aluph, Boughton Lees and Eastwell. The latter is dominated by Eastwell Park, a large area of parkland and country estate.

Boughton Aluph (pronounced Bawton Alluf) is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Ashford in Kent, England, and is about 5 miles (8 km) north of Ashford on the A251 road. There are two villages within the parish: Boughton Aluph itself, and Boughton Lees. Boughton Corner is a small hamlet within the parish, further east on the A28 road. The civil parish shares its council with the smaller locality of Eastwell. The place-name 'Boughton Aluph' is first attested as 'Boltune' in the Domesday Book of 1086, as 'Boctune' in the related Domesday Monachorum, and as 'Botun Alou' in the Close Rolls of 1237. 'Boughton' means 'town or settlement where beeches grew'; the village was held by one Alulf in 1211-12, the name being a variant of the Old German 'Adalulf'.

The Towers School and Sixth Form Centre is a secondary school (Academy) in Ashford, Kent. The school was first established in 1967 and was named after the nearby towers standing at the entrance to Eastwell Park.The school has over 1400 pupils, of which 170 are in the Sixth Form. The principal is Mr Richard Billings who has been in the role since January 2014.

Conningbrook Lakes Country Park is a 34.3-hectare (85-acre) nature reserve in Kennington, Ashford in Kent. It is managed by Kent Wildlife Trust.There are three lakes in these former gravel pits, and other habitats are ponds, a river, grassland and wet woodland. In the winter there are migratory wildfowl and wetland birds such as wigeon, tufted duck and gadwall.There is access from Willesborough Road.

Eastwell Park is a large area of parkland and a country estate in the civil parish of Eastwell, adjoining Ashford, Kent, in England. It was owned by the Earls of Winchilsea for more than three centuries. Over time, successive buildings have served as homes to Sir Thomas Moyle, the Earls of Winchilsea and Nottingham, Prince Alfred, Duke of Edinburgh, and others. The estate is now mainly a farming concern, raising crops and sheep. Part of the estate is landscaped to include a large shallow lake that can be fished and the distinctive Eastwell Towers. The largest building on the site today is Eastwell Manor, a stately home that was rebuilt on a smaller scale during the 1920s using much of the material from the previous larger house, which is now operated as a country house hotel. Hence the Manor and Towers are only Grade II listed.

Kennington Stream (or Penlee / Pen Lee) is a tributary of the Great Stour river in Ashford, Kent, England. The stream runs from its source near Kennington, 2.3 kilometres, past Penlee Point (the junction of the A28 and A251 roads) to the Great Stour, joining adjacent to the M20 motorway.
