Seneca Valley High School (SVHS) is a U.S. public high school (grades 9-12) in Germantown, Maryland. It is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools system. Its enrollment for the 2020–2021 school year was 1,652 students. The current building was finished in 2021, and has a capacity of 2,423 students.

Germantown is an urbanized census-designated place in Montgomery County, Maryland. With a population of 91,249 as of the 2020 census, it is the third most populous place in Maryland, after Baltimore and Columbia. Germantown is located approximately 28 miles (45 km) outside the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C., and is an important part of the Washington metropolitan area. Germantown was founded in the early 19th century by European immigrants, though much of the area's development did not take place until the mid-20th century. The original plan for Germantown divided the area into a downtown and six town villages: Gunners Lake Village, Kingsview Village, Churchill Village, Middlebrook Village, Clopper's Mill Village, and Neelsville Village. The Churchill Town Sector at the corner of Maryland Route 118 and Middlebrook Road most closely resembles the center of Germantown because of the location of the Upcounty Regional Services Center, the Germantown Public Library, the Black Rock Arts Center, and pedestrian shopping that features an array of restaurants. Three exits to Interstate 270 [I-270] are less than one mile away, the Maryland Area Regional Commuter train is within walking distance, and the Germantown Transit Center that provides Ride On shuttle service to the Shady Grove station of the Washington Metro's Red Line. Germantown has the assigned ZIP codes of 20874 and 20876 for delivery and 20875 for post office boxes. It is the only "Germantown, Maryland" recognized by the United States Postal Service, though three other Maryland counties have unincorporated communities with the same name.

Germantown is a passenger rail station on the MARC Brunswick Line between Washington, D.C., and Martinsburg, West Virginia (with a branch to Frederick, Maryland). It is one of the busiest stations on the Brunswick Line along with Silver Spring and Rockville stations. All Brunswick Line trains stop at this station. The original Germantown station, which was built by Ephraim Francis Baldwin for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad was destroyed by arsonists in 1978, and was reconstructed for MARC.

Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Gaithersburg is a parish of the Roman Catholic Church in Maryland in the United States. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Washington and its archbishop. It is named after Saint Rose of Lima of Peru. Mass is held in both English and Spanish.

Seneca Creek State Park is a public recreation area encompassing more than 6,300 acres (2,500 ha) along 14 miles of Seneca Creek in its run to the Potomac River in Montgomery County, Maryland. The park features facilities for boating and fishing as well as trails for hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. It is managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Northwest High School (NWHS) is a public high school in Germantown, Maryland. It is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools public school system. As of 2019, its enrollment was around 2,650 students. It is one of two high schools in Germantown, the other being Seneca Valley High School, with which Northwest shares an athletic rivalry. The school also serves small sections of the cities of Gaithersburg and Darnestown. The school underwent an expansion project that was completed during the summer of 2006. Northwest's school mascot is the jaguar and its colors are black, silver and white.

Watkins Mill High School is located in Gaithersburg, an incorporated city in Montgomery County, Maryland. The school is named after the Watkins family, who owned a mill on the property. The school's colors are orange and blue. Watkins Mill is home to such programs as the International Baccalaureate Program, PLTW, and Academy of Finance. Watkins Mill is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools system. The principal is Carol Goddard. The school opened in 1989 at 269,706 ft² with a 28,140 ft² addition in 1994 and a 3,733 ft² in 1999 with 300 ft² of renovation. The school now encompasses 301,579 ft².

WMET (1160 AM) is a Gaithersburg, Maryland mediumwave (AM band) radio station serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Over several decades, it has gone through a number of radio formats, from progressive rock to all-comedy to a conservative talk-show format. Since May 3, 2010, it has been a Catholic religious radio station.WMET moved from 1150 kHz to 1160 kHz in 2003. Its transmitter is located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. WMET has a daytime transmitter power of 50,000 watts and a 1,500-watt directional signal at night.

Metropolitan Grove is a passenger rail station on the MARC Brunswick Line between Washington, D.C. and Martinsburg, WV (with an extension to Frederick, MD). Metropolitan Grove Station is nearest Browns Station Park. The large Watkins Mill Town Center development is adjacent and still under construction. The future Corridor Cities Transitway light rail/bus rapid transit line will connect with MARC at Metropolitan Grove.

Clarksburg High School is a public high school located at 22500 Wims Road in Clarksburg, Maryland, United States. It is part of the Montgomery County Public Schools system, Maryland's largest public school system. Its students mainly come from Rocky Hill Middle School, Hallie Wells Middle School, and Neelsville Middle School.
