Green Bay Pluit

Pluit is an administrative village (kelurahan) located in Penjaringan, Jakarta. In majority, its residents are mainly inhabited by ethnic Chinese Indonesians. Pluit is a bustling area with residential and commercial establishments supported by modern amenities.

Muara Angke is a fishing port located at Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan, along the north coast of Jakarta, Indonesia. The port is integrated with fishermen's housing and a fishing port management office owned by the Jakarta government. It has a modern fish market with supporting facilities for landing and auction of fish. The port is located at the mouth of the Angke River, where it meets the Java Sea. Muara Angke Wildlife Reserve is also located in this area, adjacent to Muara Karang.

The Angke River (Indonesian: Kali Angke or Sungai Angke, Chinese: 紅溪; pinyin: Hóng xī; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Âng-khe) is a 91.25-kilometre (56.70 mi) long river in Jakarta, Indonesia. The river flows from Bogor area of West Java, passing through the cities of Tangerang (Banten) and Jakarta into the Java Sea via the Cengkareng Drain. The river is connected with Cisadane river by Mookervaart canal.

Pluit Village is a shopping center located on Jl. Pluit Indah Raya, Pluit, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Indonesia. Built on an area of 21 hectares (52 acres) with lakeside view, Pluit village is a shopping center which was previously known as Mega Mall Pluit. Then in 2008, PT. Lippo Karawaci Tbk entered as a new manager and this mall was renamed Pluit Village. Some of the famous tenants in this mall include Matahari department Store, Carrefour, Best Denki, Timezone, Amazone, Playtopia,Cinépolis, Anytime Fitness, and MR. DIY. The Mall is located on Jl. Pluit Indah Raya and has a strategic location as it is close to arterial road and toll gate. Pluit Village has a large parking area that can accommodate 2300 cars and 2150 motorcycles.

Emporium Mall is a shopping center located at Pluit, Jakarta, Indonesia. Emporium Pluit developed by PT. Pluit Propertindo a subsidiary of Agung Podomoro Land. The mall is located at Jl. Pluit Selatan Raya and Jl. Bridge Three, in North Jakarta. This location was previously complex Sasana Krida Sports Complex. Emporium Pluit Mall was officially opened to the public on January 10, 2009. This mall is part of the 10 hectare CBD Pluit superblock consisting of malls, condominiums, housing, office buildings and a hotel. This mall has a floor area of 61,243 m2 (659,210 sq ft) consisting of 2 basement floors, 5 main floors, and 3 floors for indoor parking area. The main tenants are Carrefour hypermarkets and Sogo department store. Some other tenants include: Gramedia, Emporium Pluit XXI, Electronic Solution, BreadTalk, J.CO, Ace Hardware and Starbucks. The food court area is located on the 4th floor, but there are also several restaurants on the other floors.

The Regatta is a mixed development complex of 11 skyscrapers overlooking the Java Sea at Pluit, Jakarta, Indonesia. The complex has a land area of about 11 hectares. There is a 2.4 hectares aqua park within the complex.The tallest of the towers is a hotel building, which is 163 meters tall and 40 floors above the ground. The concept of the development follows a nautical theme, the centerpiece of which being an aerodynamically shaped hotel overlooking the Java Sea with chic lines is a series of 10 apartment towers of same design, symbolizing of tall ships sailing around the ‘lighthouse’ represented by the hotel, which gave to the name ‘Regatta’. The development won FIABCI (International Real Estate Federation) Prix d'Excellence Awards in 2010.All apartment towers are named after major port cities of the world and are each orientated towards the cardinal direction of their corresponding city.

Baru Timur River (Indonesian: Kali Baru Timur; Eastern New River) is a man-made canal flowing from Ci Liwung in Bogor Regency to Jakarta, Indonesia. It was one of two canals built in the 18th century under the order of the Governor-General Gustaaf Willem van Imhoff originally to transport agriculture harvest from Bogor to Batavia (now, Jakarta). Currently both canals, now known as Kali Baru Timur (Baru Timur River) and Kali Baru Barat (Baru Barat River), are among the main rivers in Jakarta, and part of the Ciliwung Cisadane flood control project. Baru Timur River flows from Katulampa flood gate, built at the same time as the canal, along the major road Bogor Highway, passing Cimanggis, Depok, Cilangkap, until reaching Java Sea in Kali Besar, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

The Grogol River (Kali Grogol) is a small river in the western part of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, Indonesia. The lower portions of the original river have been channelized with levees built along its banks, but flooding remains a real concern. Illegal buildings built along its banks were removed in 2014, and fifty-eight village families were provided with replacement housing, but most of them could not be accommodated.

Sunda Kelapa Lighthouse (Indonesian: Mercusuar Sunda Kelapa) is a lighthouse located in Jakarta, Indonesia. Established in the mid-19th-century, it is among the oldest modern lighthouses in Indonesia.

Waterkasteel (Dutch "Water Fortress") was the northernmost defense of Batavia (now Jakarta), Dutch East Indies. It was located on the west end of the Sunda Kelapa pier. Because of its location, the fort was also known as "Hornwerk".

The 1740 Batavia massacre (Dutch: Chinezenmoord, lit. 'Murder of the Chinese'; Indonesian: Geger Pacinan, lit. 'Chinatown tumult') was a massacre and pogrom in which European soldiers of the Dutch East India Company and Javanese collaborators killed ethnic Chinese residents of the port city of Batavia (present-day Jakarta) in the Dutch East Indies. The violence in the city lasted from 9 October 1740, until 22 October, with minor skirmishes outside the walls continuing late into November that year. Historians have estimated that at least 10,000 ethnic Chinese were massacred; just 600 to 3,000 are believed to have survived. In September 1740, as unrest rose among the Chinese population, spurred by government repression and declining sugar prices, Governor-General Adriaan Valckenier declared that any uprising would be met with deadly force. On 7 October, hundreds of ethnic Chinese, many of them sugar mill workers, killed 50 Dutch soldiers, leading Dutch troops to confiscate all weapons from the Chinese populace and to place the Chinese under a curfew. Two days later, rumors of Chinese atrocities led other Batavian ethnic groups to burn Chinese houses along Besar River and Dutch soldiers to fire cannons at Chinese homes in revenge. The violence soon spread throughout Batavia, killing more Chinese. Although Valckenier declared an amnesty on 11 October, gangs of irregulars continued to hunt down and kill Chinese until 22 October, when the governor-general called more forcefully for a cessation of hostilities. Outside the city walls, clashes continued between Dutch troops and rioting sugar mill workers. After several weeks of minor skirmishes, Dutch-led troops assaulted Chinese strongholds in sugar mills throughout the area. The following year, attacks on ethnic Chinese throughout Java sparked the two-year Java War that pitted ethnic Chinese and Javanese forces against Dutch troops. Valckenier was later recalled to the Netherlands and charged with crimes related to the massacre. The massacre figures heavily in Dutch literature, and is also cited as a possible etymology for the names of several areas in Jakarta.

Muara Angke mangrove forest and wildlife sanctuary is a protected nature conservation area at Kapuk Muara, Penjaringan along the north coast of Jakarta, Indonesia. Muara Angke Wildlife Sanctuary is located at the end of Muara Karang Raya street, near Mediterranean Gallery shopping complex.
