Kaiserstuhl OW railway station is a Swiss railway station on the Brünig line, owned by the Zentralbahn, that links Interlaken and Lucerne. The station is located by the hamlet of Kaiserstuhl, in the municipality of Lungern and the canton of Obwalden.

Giswil is a municipality in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland.

Lake Lungern (German: Lungerersee, also spelled Lungernsee or Lungerensee) is a natural lake in Obwalden, Switzerland which is named after the town Lungern on its shore. The lake is drained by the Sarner Aa river, which flows through the Sarnersee and into Lake Lucerne.The lake was originally much larger, and covered a large part of the valley it is situated in. Starting in 1836, its level was lowered by 36 metres (118 ft) through an artificial drainage tunnel with a length of 380 metres (1,250 ft). It is used as a reservoir.

Giswil is a Swiss railway station on the Brünig line, owned by the Zentralbahn, that links Lucerne and Interlaken. The station is in the municipality of Giswil in the canton of Obwalden.The line from Giswil over the Brünig Pass towards Interlaken is equipped with rack rails, and Giswil is the furthest station from Lucerne that can be served by trains not fitted with rack equipment.

The Giswil Tunnel is a tunnel in central Switzerland. The tunnel bypasses the town of Giswil in the canton of Obwalden, and forms part of the A8 motorway. The tunnel was completed in 2004, and is 2,066 metres (6,778 ft) long.

The Güpfi is a mountain of the Urner Alps, overlooking Lungern in the canton of Obwalden. It lies on the range north of the Chingstuel, between the Lungerersee and the Klein Melchtal.

Lake Sarnen (German: Sarnersee) is a lake in the Swiss canton of Obwalden. The lake is on the Sarner Aa, which flows out of the Lake Lungern, through the Lake Sarnen, and into Lake Lucerne. The municipalities of Sarnen and Sachseln are located on the shores of the lake, and the Brünig railway line follows the eastern shore.The lake's area is about 7.5 km2 (2.9 sq mi) and its maximum depth is 51 m. It is about 5.7 km (3.5 mi) long and, at its widest, 1.6 km (0.99 mi) wide.The lake is the subject of a watercolour painting by J. M. W. Turner, The Sarner See, Evening, c. 1842.

Ewil Maxon railway station is a Swiss railway station on the Brünig line, owned by the Zentralbahn, that links Lucerne and Interlaken. The station is in the municipality of Sachseln in the canton of Obwalden. It takes its name from the nearby hamlet of Ewil, together with the precision electric motor manufacturer Maxon Motor, whose plant adjoins the station.

Schönbüel is a prominence east of the Höch Gumme in the Emmental Alps. It can be accessed by cable car from Lungern.

The Wilerhorn is a mountain of the Bernese Oberland in Switzerland. It lies to the south-east of the Höch Gumme and to the north-west of the Brünig Pass. It should not be confused with the Wilerhorn that is in the Bernese Alps but the canton of Valais. Administratively, the summit is shared between the municipalities of Lungern, to the north and east, Hofstetten bei Brienz, to the west, and Brienzwiler, to the south. Hofstetten bei Brienz and Brienzwiler are in the canton of Bern, whilst Lungern is in the canton of Obwalden.

The geographical centre of Switzerland has the coordinates 46°48′4″N 8°13′36″E (Swiss Grid: 660158/183641). It is located at Älggi-Alp in the municipality of Sachseln, Obwalden. The point is the centre of mass determined in 1988 by Swisstopo. As the point is difficult to access, a stone was set 500 m further south-east on Älggi Alp (1645 m). This symbolizes the centre of Switzerland and is located at 46°47′54″N 8°13′55″E (Swiss Grid: 660557/183338). A plaque on the stone commemorates the winner of the "Swiss of the Year" award.
