Whittier House (Danville, Vermont)

The Greenbanks Hollow Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge, carrying Greenbanks Hollow Road across Joes Brook in southern Danville, Vermont. It is the only surviving 19th-century covered bridge in the town. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

As of the 2020 census, the CDP had a population of 385, out of 2,335 in the entire town of Danville. The village is in west-central Caledonia County, south of the center of the town of Danville. U.S. Route 2 passes through the village, leading east 8 miles (13 km) to St. Johnsbury and southwest 27 miles (43 km) to Montpelier, the state capital. The village drains south to Brown Brook, a tributary of Joes Brook, and east to Water Andric. Joes Brook and Water Andric both flow southeast to the Passumpsic River, a south-flowing tributary of the Connecticut River.

The Josiah and Lydia Shedd Farmstead is a historic farm property at 1721 Bayley-Hazen Road in Peacham, Vermont. Established in 1816, the property evokes a typical 19th-century Vermont hill farm. Its oldest surviving buildings, the main house and two barns, survive from the second quarter of the 19th century. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Peacham is the primary village and a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Peacham, Caledonia County, Vermont, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. The Peacham Corner Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, occupies the four roads extending outward from the crossroads at the village center. The village is in southwestern Caledonia County, in the eastern part of the town of Peacham. It sits on a hill that drains northeast to East Peacham Brook and south to South Peacham Brook. Both brooks are tributaries of the Stevens River, which flows east to the Connecticut River at Barnet. Peacham is 6 miles (10 km) south of U.S. Route 2 at Danville, 7 miles (11 km) northwest of Interstate 91 at Barnet, and 8 miles (13 km) north of U.S. Route 302 at Groton. Groton State Forest is to the west.

The Elkins Tavern is a historic house on Bayley-Hazen Road in Peacham, Vermont. Built in 1787 by one of Peacham's first settlers, it has one of the best-preserved 18th-century interiors in the state of Vermont. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Peacham Corner Historic District encompasses much of the historic village center of Peacham, Vermont. The village's period of greatest growth and importance between the town's founding as a hill town in the late 18th century, and 1860, when significant development effectively ended. As a result, the village lacks Victorian features often found in other rural communities. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

The Thresher Mill is a historic industrial facility on West Barnet Road in Barnet, Vermont. First developed in 1836, it was the last water-powered mill to operate on the Stevens River, lasting into the late 20th century. The property, which includes an original mill dam and a surviving 1872 mill building, as well as archaeological sites of other industrial buildings, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. It is now styled Ben's Mill, and is a local museum.

Peacham is a town in Caledonia County, Vermont, United States. The population was 715 at the 2020 census.

The Barnet Center Historic District encompasses a small cluster of buildings and a cemetery, which make up the original town center of Barnet, Vermont. Located on Barnet Center Road, it includes the 1849 Presbyterian church, vestry, and two residences, built between 1790 and 1898, as well as the town's first cemetery and a c. 1915 toolshed. It was the first town in Vermont to be settled by direct immigration from Scotland. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Parameters Harvey Lake, locally known as Harvey's Lake, is a lake in the town of Barnet, Vermont in Caledonia County in the northeast section of Vermont, United States. It was named after one of the original settlers of Barnet, Vermont, Colonel Alexander Harvey. Although locally it is known as "Harvey's Lake", it is officially named "Harvey Lake" by the federal Board on Geographic Names, as genitive apostrophes are rarely allowed in the names of natural features.The lake is in the western part of the town of Barnet, with the village of West Barnet at the northern end of the lake near its outlet. Nearby communities are South Peacham to the northwest and Mosquitoville to the south. The outlet at the northern end of the lake is held back by a dam, owned by the town of Barnet. The northern end of the lake is dominated by Harvey's Lake Park with its public beaches and picnic areas, and by a private campground. Ocean explorer and SCUBA inventor Jacques Cousteau had influential experiences on Harvey's Lake as a young boy in the early 1920s. While attending a summer camp he experimented with staying underwater by breathing through hollow reeds found in the lake shallows. Though he could not yet swim well, this allowed him to stay underwater for extended periods.

The Caledonia-Washington-1 Representative District is a one-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Caledonia-Washington-1 District includes all of the Caledonia County towns of Danville and Peacham, and the Washington County town of Cabot. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The one member Caledonia-Washington-1 District had a population of 4,089 in that same census, 0.74% above the state average.
