Mödlareuth (German pronunciation: [ˈmøːdlaˌʁɔʏ̯t]) is a German village situated partly in Bavaria and partly in Thuringia. Between 1949 and 1990, the northern part was in East Germany and the southern part in West Germany. The Thuringian part of the village belongs to Gefell while the Bavarian part belongs to Töpen. It was called "Little Berlin" by the Americans because a wall divided it until 1989, like the Berlin Wall divided Berlin. "Little Berlin" became a symbol of separation between the West and East by the wall, but also a symbol of reunification. Today the Museum Mödlareuth shows the history of the village and gives information about the political system at that time.

The Botanischer Garten der Stadt Hof is a municipal botanical garden located in the Theresienstein park, at Alte Plauener Strasse 16, Hof, Bavaria, Germany. It is open daily in the warmer months without charge. The garden started sometime before 1929 as a municipal garden for teaching students, and from 1929 to 1932 was developed as a botanical garden by city gardener Rudolf Hutschenreiter. During World War II, it was used primarily for vegetables. Reconstruction began after the war, to new designs created by gardener Herrmann Fuchs from 1958 to 1998. The garden is divided into two major areas: a geometrical Rosarium, and a landscaped garden with alpine garden, Jura Mountains collection, lily pond, shade area, medicinal herb garden, heathers, succulents, and expansive perennials plantings. Plantings include both local species and varieties from around the world.

It absorbed the former municipalities Kloschwitz and Kürbitz in 1999, Burgstein in 2011, and Reuth in 2017.Weischlitz station is on the Plauen–Cheb line and the Gera Süd–Weischlitz railway. It is located in the eastern part of the municipality. Gutenfürst station is located in the western part of Weischlitz municipality at Leipzig–Hof railway. Bundesautobahn 72, a federal motorway between Hof and Chemnitz, crosses the municipality. The Elster viaduct, one of its largest bridges, is located within Weischlitz municipality, close to the village of Pirk.
