Ardpeaton is a settlement in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, on the shore of Loch Long, with a population under 1000.

Knockderry Castle is a house in Shore Road, Cove, Argyll, Scotland, that was designed by Alexander Thomson in the 1850s, with Baronial additions by William Leiper in 1897. It is category A listed with Historic Environment Scotland.The house was built for James Templeton, a manufacturer of textiles. When alterations and expansion started in 1896, the property was owned by John Templeton, a manufacturer of carpets.Knockderry Castle was offered for sale in summer 2022 following a 22-year-long legal battle that started with business debts allegedly not paid by the owner, Marian Van Overwaele. She became sequestrated (declared bankrupt) in 2000; in March 2022 her brother, George Amil, in whose name the property had been placed, was evicted with his family. Rahane is a place in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It lies on the west bank of the Gare Loch as part of the Rosneath peninsula, 2.3 miles (3.7 km) south of the larger settlement of Garelochhead, and 11 miles (18 km) by road from the town of Helensburgh which is due south-east. The area contains much Forestry Commission managed stock.

Cove is a village on the south-west coast of the Rosneath Peninsula, on Loch Long, in Argyll and Bute, western Scotland.

The Gare Loch or Gareloch (Scottish Gaelic: An Gearr Loch) is an open sea loch in Argyll and Bute, Scotland and bears a similar name to the village of Gairloch in the north west Highlands. The loch is well used for recreational boating, water sports and fishing. Harbour and grey seals are often seen in the Gare Loch along with pods of porpoise. Bottle Nose whales were photographed in September 2020. The loch also has been used since the early 20th century for naval training and as a base for the United Kingdom's submarine based nuclear weapons system.

Clynder is a place on the western shore of the Gare Loch, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Historically in the County of Dunbarton, Clynder is one of a string of small settlements on the Rosneath Peninsula. It is almost directly opposite Rhu, and overlooks the HMNB Clyde base at Faslane. The hills immediately behind Clynder were formerly used as apiaries, the types of heather found there being particularly attractive to bees.

Coulport (Scottish Gaelic: An Cùl Phort - literally the Back Port or Ferry) is a village on the east side of Loch Long, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It is 5 miles (8 km) north-north-west of Cove on the Rosneath peninsula. It marks the end of the B833 shore road, although the village can also be reached by a high-quality but unclassified access road (primarily designed for naval traffic) directly from Garelochhead. The village looks across to the small settlement of Ardentinny on the west shore to which, in the 18th/19th century, there was a ferry. John Kibble, the son of a Glasgow metal merchant, was one of several wealthy Glasgow merchants who had large villas built at Coulport in the nineteenth century either as permanent residences or summer retreats. Several still survive, some now flatted, others in a dilapidated condition. Kibble's Coulport House was the original location of the giant conservatory known as the Kibble Palace (now in Glasgow's Botanic Garden).Since the 1960s Coulport has been most associated with the Trident missile storage and the nearby Royal Naval Armaments Depot (RNAD Coulport) situated there as part of HMNB Clyde.

Craig Ailey is a villa at Cove, originally named Italian Villa. The site above a craig (cliff) gives views over the Firth of Clyde and its junction with Loch Long. It was designed in 1850 by Alexander Thomson (later known as "Greek Thomson"), and built around 1852 by his client the builder and developer John McElroy, who had feued land in the Cove and Kilcreggan area from the 8th Duke of Argyll. Access to the house is by South Ailey Road. The house, on top of the craig above Craigrownie Cottage, can be seen from Shore Road.

Cove Burgh Hall is a municipal structure in Shore Road in Cove, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The structure, which is used as a community events venue, is a Category B listed building.

Lindowan Reservoir is of the impounding variety, located 1 kilometre north of Kilcreggan. It used to be the main source of water for a nearby threshing mill. The earthfill dam is 3 metres high, and was constructed before 1850.

Loch Long is a body of water in the council area of Argyll and Bute, Scotland. The Sea Loch extends from the Firth of Clyde at its southwestern end. It measures approximately 20 miles (30 kilometres) in length, with a width of between one and two miles (two and three kilometres). The loch also has an arm, Loch Goil, on its western side. Its name is not a reference to is length; it actually comes from the Gaelic for "ship lake". Prior to their defeat at the Battle of Largs in 1263, Viking raiders sailed up Loch Long to Arrochar, and then dragged their longships 2 miles overland to Tarbet and into Loch Lomond. Being inland, the settlements around Loch Lomond were more vulnerable to attack.Loch Long forms part of the coast of the Cowal peninsula, and forms the entire western coastline of the Rosneath Peninsula. Loch Long was historically the boundary between Argyll and Dunbartonshire; however, boundary redrawing in 1996 bmeant that it moved wholly within the council area of Argyll and Bute. The steamboat Chancellor used to traverse the loch, departing Dunoon at 11:00 and returning about five hours later. PS Waverley was also built to serve Loch Long and Loch Goil from 1947, a route that she still sailed as of 2021, albeit as more of an attraction than a primary means of transport.

Faslane Peace Camp is a permanent peace camp sited alongside Faslane Naval base in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. It has been occupied continuously, in a few different locations, since 12 June 1982. In 1984, the book Faslane:Diary of a Peace Camp was published, co-written by the members of the peacecamp at the time. There is also a secondary site on Raeberry Street in North Glasgow.
