Pergins Island

Holes Bay is an intertidal embayment off Poole Harbour in the county of Dorset on the south coast of England. It lies mostly within the Borough of Poole and is close to Poole town centre. It is an important wetland bird haven.

Upton House is a country house in the grounds of Upton Country Park on the northwestern shoreline of Holes Bay in the county of Dorset on the south coast of England. It is owned by BCP Council.

Holes Bay Nature Park is a protected area, 286 hectares in size, on and around Holes Bay, an embayment of Poole Harbour within the Borough of Poole that is important for wildlife, especially wetland birds. It was designated a nature park in March 2015.

Creekmoor is a suburb of Poole in Dorset, England, with a population of 9,257, reducing to 9,180 at the 2011 census. Bordered by the Upton Heath Nature Reserve and Upton Country Park, the area is mainly populated by families. The suburb is represented by two local councillors, Judy Butt of the Poole Engage Party and Paul Slade of the Liberal Democrats.

The Creekmoor Light Railway was a small, privately run, 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge railway. It was situated off Creekmoor Lane, to the north of Poole, between Broadstone and Fleetsbridge, Dorset, and was operated by a group of local enthusiasts from October 1968, to April 1973.

Creekmoor was a halt on the former Southampton and Dorchester Railway opened by the Southern Railway for workers at the adjacent "Oerlikon" munitions factory, later run by Plesseys, now owned by Siemens. The halt was situated ¾ mile south of Broadstone, 1½ miles from Poole town centre and 116 miles 79 chains from London Waterloo. The original line had been opened on 2 December 1872 by the L&SWR, and had closed completely by 2 May 1977; the halt itself opened on 19 June 1933 and closed on 7 March 1966.

Parvalux Electric Motors Ltd is a British manufacturer of fractional horsepower geared electric motors. Based in Poole in Southern England. In December 2018, Parvalux was acquired by maxon motor AG.

Hamworthy is a village, parish, peninsula and suburb of Poole in Dorset, England. It is sited on a peninsula of approximately 3 square kilometres (1.2 sq mi) that is bordered by the town of Upton to the north, Poole Harbour to the south, Lytchett Bay to the west and Holes Bay to the east. Poole Bridge, the southern terminus of the A350 road, connects the suburb with the town centre. Hamworthy is the location of the Port of Poole ferry passenger terminal and cargo handling operations. Hamworthy had two local councillors in Poole Borough Council, one for Hamworthy East, and one for Hamworthy West. In Hamworthy there are six main areas, Rockley Park (where Royal Marines Poole and Holiday Park are), Turlin Moor Estate, Lower Hamworthy (where Poole Docks are), Cobbs Quay/Harbourside (Which looks out over Holes Bay), Lake Side (where the Metalbox Factory is located) and Central Hamworthy (Location of the Main Road, Co-Op and Church area). Hamworthy has a railway station, with a twice hourly South Western Railway service to London Waterloo on the South West Main Line.

Fleetsbridge is a small area of Poole, Dorset, centred on a busy gyratory and flyover. It lies north of Poole town centre and borders the neighbouring suburbs of Waterloo, Creekmoor, Oakdale and Canford Heath. The use of land varies between residential, retail and some light industry. The area is also home to Parkstone Grammar School when it moved there from Lower Parkstone in 1962. The site of the Tesco at Fleets Corner was, up until the 1980s, the home of Hamworthy Recreation Football Club before the land was sold and the club moved to Canford Magna on the northern extreme of the Borough of Poole. Opposite to Tesco, across Waterloo Road, is the home of the headquarters of the global company, Hamworthy Combustion Engineering. Fleets Industrial Estate lies to the south of the gyratory off Fleets Lane and is adjacent to Wessex Gate Retail Park, which has large retail outlets such as DFS, Currys and PC World.

The Lifeboat College is the national training centre of the RNLI in Poole, Dorset, England.

The Cornerstone Academy (previously Carter Community School) is a co-educational secondary school located in Hamworthy, Poole, Dorset, England. The school serves the Hamworthy and Turlin Moor areas and pupils are taken mostly from Hamworthy and Turlin Moor Junior Schools.

Poole Town Football Club is a football club based in Poole, Dorset, England. They currently compete in the Southern League Premier Division South. The club was established in 1880 and they affiliated to the Dorset County Football Association and are a Football Association (FA) Charter Standard Community Club. The team spent two seasons in the National League South before relegation in 2018.
