The White River is a freshwater tributary located in the counties of Racine and Walworth, Wisconsin, that flows for 19 miles out of Geneva Lake in Lake Geneva to the Fox River in Burlington. The river flows through the 200-acre White River Park, which is managed by the Geneva Lake Conservancy and Walworth County Park System. The remains of a dam from the 19th century are visible on Sheridan Springs Road where it crosses the river entering Lyons, Wisconsin from the west. This formed a mill pond that is still shown on maps today even though it was drained several decades ago.The White River is a destination for kayakers and canoers as it offers a range of ripples with a sand and pebble bottom and clear water. There is a section with class II rapids emptying into a relatively large, deep pool that is popular with paddlers looking to cool off in the hot summer months. The river is best in the spring when water levels are higher as these levels decrease into the late summer months unless rainfall is high. Paddlers choosing to finish the river will enter into Echo Lake in Burlington.

Franklyn Hazelo House

The Franklyn Hazelo House is a Greek Revival-styled house clad in cobblestones that was built in 1858 in Rochester, Wisconsin, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.Jedediah Healy and his family were early settlers in Racine County, arriving in 1841. By 1858 he was well-enough established to build a fine house, reminiscent of homes back east. The style is Greek Revival, with a complex cornice, cornice returns, symmetric windows in the front of the main block, and Doric columns in the entry porch. The side walls and back consisted of coursed dolomite, but the front surface is the notable one.The front is veneered in small cobblestones - i.e. hard little rocks rounded by millennia of wave action or by the grinding of glaciers. The cobbles are laid in rows, with each set in a frame of raised mortar. Their colors vary somewhat, but are all earth tones. The corners of the walls are framed in quoins of rough-cut stone. A delicate cobblestone chimney rises from the side wing. The use of cobblestone to veneer houses came from western New York, where such stones were plentiful. In Wisconsin, cobblestone treatment is rather rare, and even more rare is its choice by non-New Yorkers.

Bohners Lake, Wisconsin

Bohners Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Racine County, Wisconsin, United States. Its first syllable is pronounced as in "bone". The population of the CDP was 2,374 at the 2020 census. It is politically part of the Town of Burlington, together with Browns Lake, Wisconsin. There has been discussion of incorporating Bohners Lake as a village to prevent annexation by the City of Burlington. It was named for Antony Bohner, a French immigrant who established a resort on the lake of the same name.

John and Margaret Bell House

The John and Margaret Bell House is located in Spring Prairie, Wisconsin. The two-story stone house, built of local sandstone c. 1850 sits on a 3.8 acre parcel. It was originally part of an 80-acre parcel and with other parcels was part of a farm. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.
