Florida's 22nd congressional district is a U.S. congressional district in Southeast Florida. In the 2020 redistricting cycle, it was drawn as a successor to the previous 21st district and includes Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach and Delray Beach, as well as unincorporated Palm Beach County. The previous iteration of the 22nd district, which extended from Fort Lauderdale to Boca Raton, was instead renamed the 23rd district. In 2017 to 2023, the district encompassed the coastline of Broward County to southern Palm Beach County and included Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs and part of Pompano Beach. It also included Florida Atlantic University and Port Everglades, the third busiest cruise port in the world. The new district is represented by Democrat Lois Frankel, incumbent from the 21st district who was re-elected in 2022. Fellow Democrat Ted Deutch represented the old 22nd congressional district from 2017 after he was redistricted from Florida's 21st congressional district until his resignation on September 30, 2022. The new 22nd district has one of the highest populations of Jewish Americans in the country. In 2020, the election between two Jewish candidates, Democratic incumbent Rep. Lois Frankel and right-wing activist Laura Loomer, drew national attention. Loomer used Holocaust imagery and Yiddish to attack Frankel as an opponent of Jewish interests.

Digital Media Arts College (DMAC) was a private for-profit art and design college in Boca Raton, Florida. DMAC was founded in 2002 to offer bachelor's degrees in 3D animation and graphic design. It was acquired by Lynn University in 2017 and made part of the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn College of Communication and Design.DMAC was accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). It enrolled approximately 350 students.

Highland Beach is a town in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It is situated 49 miles north of Miami and 20 miles south of Palm Beach. As of the 2010 census, the population was 3,539.

Boca Raton is a Tri-Rail commuter rail station in Boca Raton, Florida. The station is located at Yamato Road (SR 794), just east of Congress Avenue (SR 807) and west of I-95. Originally opened January 9, 1989, the station was moved and rebuilt following Hurricane Wilma, reopening to service November 4, 2005. The station is the southernmost Tri-Rail station in Palm Beach County, and offers parking. By 2014, it was considered the busiest station in the system with 1,600 riders a day, surpassing the Tri-Rail and Metrorail transfer station in Miami-Dade County. For this reason, a second Boca Raton Tri-Rail station at Glades Road has been long considered.

The Yamato Colony was an attempt to create a community of Japanese farmers in what is now Boca Raton, Florida, early in the 20th century. With encouragement from Florida authorities, young Japanese men were recruited to farm in the colony. There were as many as 75 Japanese men, some with their families, at the peak. There was "a cluster of two-story frame houses, a general store..., some packing houses."Because of various difficulties, including blight, the colony never grew very large, and gradually declined until it was finally dispersed during World War II. The Model Land Company was created by Henry Flagler to hold title to the land granted to his Florida East Coast Railway by the State of Florida. The company encouraged the settlement of its land, particularly by recent immigrants, to gain money from the sale of the land and to increase business for the railroad. In 1903, the company was referred to Jo Sakai, a Japanese man who had just graduated from New York University. Sakai purchased 1,000 acres (4 km2) from the Model Land Company, and recruited young men from his hometown of Miyazu, Japan, to settle there. Several hundred settlers grew pineapples, which were shipped from the Yamato station on the Florida East Coast Railway. Pineapple blight destroyed the crop in 1908. In addition, the colony could no longer compete with cheaper (and earlier maturing) pineapples from Cuba. As a result, many of the settlers returned to Japan or moved elsewhere in the United States. The remnants of the colony were dispossessed after the entry of the United States into World War II, when their land was purchased to create a United States Army Air Corps training base (now the site of Florida Atlantic University and the Boca Raton Airport).The only member of the Yamato Colony to stay in the area was George Morikami, who continued to farm in neighboring Delray Beach, Florida until the 1970s, when he donated his farmland to Palm Beach County to preserve it as a park, and to honor the memory of the Yamato Colony. The Yamato Colony is remembered today in Yamato Road, a major street in Boca Raton, and in Morikami Park and the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Delray Beach is a sister city with Miyazu, in honor of George Morikami and the Yamato Colony.

Everglades University, formerly known as the American Flyers College, is a private university with its main campus in Boca Raton, Florida, and several other campuses throughout the state. Everglades offers bachelor's and master's degree programs, both via online and on-campus.

Florida Atlantic University High School (FAU High School) is a public, dual enrollment high school on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. FAU High School is unique by the advanced coursework and classroom setting that students participate in. 9th grade at FAU High School prepares all students to transition to Florida Atlantic University, as 10th graders, where they complete the rest of their high school coursework and begin their undergraduate degrees in a major of their choosing. A typical graduate of FAU High School earns three years worth of college credits towards a bachelor's degree.

Howard Schnellenberger Field at FAU Stadium is a college football stadium located at the north end of the main campus of Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida. Opened in 2011, it is home to the Florida Atlantic Owls football team and is intended to be the first part of FAU's multi-use development project, "Innovation Village" as a replacement for Lockhart Stadium After selecting an architect in 2008, the university began to raise funds for the $70 million facility with the intent to begin construction in 2009. The $70 million stadium was funded through student fees, private donations, and naming rights partnerships, some of which have yet to be determined. After fundraising efforts slowed, the school delayed construction until 2010. The stadium opened when the 2011 Florida Atlantic Owls football team lost to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on October 15, 2011. Starting in 2014, FAU Stadium became home to the Boca Raton Bowl, a college football bowl game which features teams from the Mid-American Conference and in alternating years Conference USA and the American Athletic Conference.Also starting in 2014, FAU Stadium was home to the Major League Lacrosse's Florida Launch until 2018.The playing surface was named Howard Schnellenberger Field, after the founding coach of the Owls football program, on August 20, 2014. Schnellenberger spent the final 11 seasons of his coaching career at FAU, retiring after the 2011 season.

Boca Raton Army Air Field was a World War II United States Army Air Forces airfield, located 1.7 miles (2.7 km) northwest of the 1940s borders of Boca Raton, Florida. During World War II, it operated the only training for the then new and secret technology of radar. Closed in 1946, due to annexation the former base is now within the city of Boca Raton; the land is currently occupied by the Boca Raton Airport, Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College.

The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine is the medical school of Florida Atlantic University located in Boca Raton, Florida, United States. The college offers the degrees of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Medicine/Doctor of Philosophy (M.D./Ph.D.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.).In the Spring of 2010, FAU launched its own independent medical school, the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, as the 134th medical school in the United States. The inaugural class was welcomed in August 2011. In 2015, The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine earned full accreditation from the LCME for its MD degree. Accreditation signifies that national standards for function, structure, and performance are met by the medical school's education program. In the fall of 2011, the FAU Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine Graduate Medical Education (GME) Consortium was formed with five Palm Beach County hospitals: Bethesda Hospital East; Boca Raton Regional Hospital; and Tenet HealthCare system’s Delray Medical Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and West Boca Medical Center. The Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine opened up FAU’s first University-sponsored residency in internal medicine, and commenced with the first class of 36 residents in July 2014. In November 2021, the school announced that neurosurgeon Julie G. Pilitsis would serve as dean effective February 2022. In 2016, the college's general surgery residency program was approved for a total of 45 clinical positions and up to seven positions for a unique value-added year of scholarship and research, making this program one of the largest in the nation. The college formed a Department of Surgery in 2016, which includes faculty in general surgery and its various sub-specialties, as well as orthopedics, neurosurgery, urology, ophthalmology, and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery, among others. FAU’s emergency medicine residency program was approved in 2016 for a total of 18 positions, with the first class of six residents who matched in 2017. Resident rotations in the program include emergency medicine, trauma, medical ICU, surgical ICU, pediatric ICU, and anesthesia. Since 2017, FAU was approved for a 4-year psychiatry residency program, a 4-year neurology residency program, and a 3-year cardiology fellowship program. All programs welcomed their first classes on July 1, 2018. The college also hosts multiple graduate degree programs, including thesis and non-thesis MS programs in Biomedical Science, a PhD track in Integrated Biomedical Science, and an MD/PhD program with The Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, Florida. There is also a newly established MD/MBA program with the FAU College of Business which lets you complete your MD and MBA in 4 years.

Florida Atlantic University (Florida Atlantic or FAU) is a public research university with its main campus in Boca Raton, Florida, and satellite campuses in Dania Beach, Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Jupiter, and Fort Pierce. FAU belongs to the 12-campus State University System of Florida and serves South Florida. Established as Florida's fifth public university in 1961, FAU has quickly grown to become one of the largest institutions in the state by enrollment. Florida Atlantic University is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". Florida Atlantic offers more than 180 undergraduate and graduate degree programs within its 10 colleges. The university is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). FAU opened in 1964 as the first public university in the Miami metro area, offering only upper-division and graduate level courses. Initial enrollment was only 867 students, increasing in 1984 when the university admitted its first lower-division undergraduate students. As of 2021, enrollment has grown to over 30,000 students representing 180 countries, 50 states, and the District of Columbia. The university has an annual budget of $900 million and an annual economic impact of $6.3 billion. Since 1964, Florida Atlantic University has awarded degrees to over 185,000 alumni.FAU's intercollegiate sports teams, the Florida Atlantic Owls, compete in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and the Conference USA (C-USA). With 19 varsity athletic teams, the Owls have won numerous titles and championships within the conference and division. On October 21, 2021, Florida Atlantic accepted the invitation to join the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and will become a full-member on July 1, 2023.

Boca Raton ( rə-TOHN; Spanish: Boca Ratón, [ˈboka raˈton]) is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 97,422 in the 2020 census and it ranked as the 344th largest city in the United States in 2021. However, many people with a Boca Raton postal address live outside of municipal boundaries, such as in West Boca Raton. As a business center, the city also experiences significant daytime population increases. A part of South Florida, Boca Raton is 45 miles (72 km) north of Miami and is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which had a population of 6,012,331 as of 2015. It was first incorporated on August 2, 1924 as "Bocaratone," and then incorporated as "Boca Raton" on May 26, 1925. While the area had been inhabited by the Glades culture, as well as Spanish and later British colonial empires prior to its annexation by the United States, the city's present form was developed predominantly by Addison Mizner starting in the 1920s. Mizner contributed to many buildings in the area having Mediterranean Revival or Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. Boca Raton also became a key city in the development of the early computer industry. The city is the birthplace of IBM's first personal computer and various other technologies created by the company. Brightline has a Boca Raton station that provides passenger rail service to Miami and eventually Orlando. Still centered around luxury beach culture, the city today is dotted by many malls and shopping centers. The ODP Corporation, which operates Office Depot and OfficeMax, is headquartered here. Boca Raton is also home to the main campus of Florida Atlantic University and the Evert Tennis Academy, owned by former professional tennis player Chris Evert. The city has a strict development code for the size and types of commercial buildings, building signs, and advertisements that may be erected within the city limit, which has led to major thoroughfares without billboards and large advertisements, as well as increased green spaces on roads.
