The stream source area is along the east side of Missouri Route A between Union and Krakow. The stream flows northeast passing under Route 47 and then north passing under Route 100 to enter the Missouri floodplain just east of Washington.Dubois Creek most likely was named after Louis Dubois, an early French frontiersman.

Fore Shoe Company Building, also known as the Washington Shoe Company Building and Kane Dunham & Kraus Shoe Company Building, is a historic shoe factory building located at Washington, Franklin County, Missouri. The original section was built in 1925, and is a two-story, reinforced concrete and wood beam structure sheathed in brick. A two- and three-story brick addition was built in 1927, and is of steel frame construction. The building features a prominent brick smoke stack and measures approximately 58,000 square feet of floor space. The Washington Bridge was a cantilever truss bridge over the Missouri River at Washington, Missouri over which Route 47 passed between Franklin County, Missouri and Warren County, Missouri. It has also been known as the Route 47 Missouri River Bridge.The bridge was built in 1934. Its main span was 474.6 feet (144.7 m) and it had a total length of 2,561.3 feet (780.7 m) and a deck width of 22 feet (6.7 m). Its vertical clearance was 14.6 feet (4.5 m). The bridge carried one lane of automobile traffic in each direction.
