Jervis Bay

Jervis Bay Marine Park is a marine protected area established by the Government of New South Wales in 1998. and the current zoning plan has been in place since 1 October 2002. The marine park is approximately 210 km2 (81 sq mi) in area and spans over 100 km (62 mi) of coastline from Kinghorn Point in the north to Sussex Inlet. The marine park is zoned to conserve biological diversity in marine habitats and to provide a range of recreational and commercial activities.

Hyams Beach is a seaside village in the City of Shoalhaven, New South Wales, Australia, on the shores of Jervis Bay. At the 2016 census, it had a population of 112. The village, 180 km south of Sydney, is bordered by two beaches, Chinaman's Beach to the north and Seaman's Beach (sometimes referred to as "Sailors Beach") to the south, with Hyams Beach being in the centre. A seaside resort, its beach is known for having turquoise/aqua-coloured waters and fine, squeaky, brilliantly white sand composed of pure quartz.

Vincentia is a town in New South Wales, Australia in the City of Shoalhaven, on the shores of Jervis Bay. It is roughly 25 kilometres (16 mi) southeast of Nowra, and approximately 200 kilometres (120 mi) south of Sydney. At the 2016 census, the population of Vincentia was 3,290. It is also a tourist spot with a beach area featuring white sand and a number of motels.

Bowen Island is a sandstone island lying 250 metres (270 yd) off the tip of the Bherwerre Peninsula at the entrance to Jervis Bay, on the coast of New South Wales, Australia. The island, however, is not part of the state of New South Wales but of the Jervis Bay Territory, administered by Australia's federal government. It lies within the Booderee National Park. In the 1990s it was raised as a prospective site to establish an internment camp for drug users to recover from heroin addiction.

Jervis Bay Nuclear Power Plant was a proposed nuclear power reactor in the Jervis Bay Territory on the south coast of New South Wales. It would have been Australia's first nuclear power plant, and was the only proposal to have received serious consideration as of May 2023. Some environmental studies and site works were completed, and two rounds of tenders were called and evaluated, but the Australian government decided not to proceed with the project.

Jervis Bay Village is a village in the Jervis Bay Territory, Australia. HMAS Creswell Royal Australian Navy base is located in the town. Apart from the navy base there is an Aboriginal community in the town. It is the largest town in the Jervis Bay Territory, with 189 inhabitants (followed by Wreck Bay Village with 152).

HMAS Creswell, is the training facility of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) that predominately includes The Royal Australian Naval College (RANC) as well as the School of Survivability and Ship's Safety, the Beecroft Weapons Range, an administrative support department and Training Ship Jervis Bay. It is located between Jervis Bay Village and Greenpatch, on the shores of Jervis Bay in the Jervis Bay Territory. The RANC has been the initial officer training establishment of the Royal Australian Navy since 1915. As of January 2022, the commanding officer of Creswell is Captain Dugald Clelland, RAN.

Callala Bay is a small town on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia in the City of Shoalhaven. The town is situated on the northern shore of Jervis Bay about 20 minutes drive from Nowra and 10 minutes from Culburra Beach. Callala Bay has an approximate elevation of 13 metres (43 ft) above sea level, and is located inland from Callala Point, a headland facing the Tasman Sea. Nearby settlements include Callala Beach and Myola to the south-west, Currarong to the south-east and Culburra Beach to the north-east. Aeolus was a wooden ketch built in 1850 at Pyrmont, New South Wales, Australia. She was carrying timber to Sydney, New South Wales, when she was lost at Hole in the Wall, Jervis Bay, New South Wales, on 24 October 1867. The wreck has not been located, but its approximate position is 35.134648°S 150.745874°E / -35.134648; 150.745874.

Vincentia High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in the town of Vincentia in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. The school is located adjacent to Jervis Bay. Established in 1993, the school enrolled approximately 1,000 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom 16 percent identified as Indigenous Australians and five percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education.

Myola is a beach-side locality in the City of Shoalhaven in New South Wales, Australia. It lies about 26 km southeast of Nowra on the northeastern shore of Jervis Bay. It is on the opposite side of Currambene Creek from Huskisson, although there is no direct road connection. At the 2016 census, it had a population of 107.

Callala Beach is a small town on the South Coast of New South Wales, Australia in the City of Shoalhaven. Like most beaches in Jervis Bay, it is known to have brilliantly white sand and aqua blue waters. The beach is a tourist spot and is a 2.5-hour drive from Sydney, located to its south.
