Bearwood is a suburb of Poole, Dorset, England. Bearwood is centred on a supermarket and medical and neighbourhood centre in King John Avenue. The area was mainly developed in the 1980s on what had been open heathland. The roads are named after titles of English nobility and people linked to the signing of Magna Carta. This is derived from the fact that the oldest road in the area, a part of the Wimborne to Bournemouth road, is called Magna Road as it passes through the village of Canford Magna en route. There is School and Nursery in the area, Bearwood Primary and Nursery School. There is also a Preschool, Bearwood Pre-School.

Canford Magna is a village in Dorset, England. The village is situated just south of the River Stour and lies between the towns of Wimborne Minster and Poole. The village has a mixture of thatch and brick buildings, mostly serving as residences for teaching staff. The western edge of the village merges with the residential suburb of Merley and the village community of Oakley. The village school was built in 1866 and now serves as the youth club for Canford and Merley.

The Canford Magna Parish Church in Canford Magna, Dorset, England – possibly dedicated to St Augustine – is a mixture of Saxon, Norman and Mid Gothic architecture. English Heritage have designated it a Grade I listed building.

LeAF Studio is a co-educational studio school located in the West Howe area of Bournemouth in the English county of Dorset. The school specialises in education for aspiring athletes and performing artists, with an emphasis on teaching through enterprise and real work experience.The school was established in September 2012, and was initially co-located at Oak Academy. However the school relocated to its own purpose-built premises in September 2013. The school was rated as 'Good' in its first Ofsted inspection in January 2015.LeAF Studio is part of the North Bournemouth Learning and Achievement Federation (LeAF) which operates the LeAF Campus. The campus includes Elm Nursery, Elm Primary Academy, Oak Academy and LeAF Studio.

Hampreston is a small village in the civil parish of Ferndown in East Dorset, southern England. Before 1972, the whole parish took the name of Hampreston, with its population rising from 1,860 in 1921 to 11,750 in 1971.The village has a school, an Anglican parish church and a farm shop. The folk singer Bob Roberts was born in Hampreston.

Merley is a large housing estate in Poole, a mile (2 km) south of Wimborne Minster. Originally called Myrle, Merley was a manor in the tithing of Great Canford (or Canford Magna). The village merges with that of Oakley, and the housing estate was originally going to be called "Oakley Garden Village", note Oakley Shops and other signposts around the community but the name was changed. The housing estate only covers part of the area that was originally called Merley/Myrle. The Poole ward is Merley and Bearwood. The population of this ward taken at the 2011 census was 10,392.

Alderney is a suburb of the town of Poole in Dorset, England with a population of 11,196, increasing to 11,423 at the 2011 Census. Alderney is south of Wallisdown and west of Alder Hills. Alderney is part of the Alderney and Bourne Valley ward for council elections.

Canford Heath is a suburb and area of heathland in Poole, Dorset, known for being the largest heathland in Dorset, and the largest lowland heath in the UK. It is also the name of the housing development built on the heathland in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. The area is split into two wards, and at the 2011 census the combined population of the two wards was 14,079.

Hot Radio is a community radio station for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole and the surrounding areas offering rhythmic music and local information. The station started life as "The Bay 102.8" and was awarded a community radio licence by Ofcom in 2007 and began broadcasting at 00:01 on 8 November 2008. Community Radio stations in the UK are required to provide a social gain to the community they serve. Hot Radio is one of a growing number of such stations in the UK. Based in Poole, Hot radio provides regular traffic & travel, job information, what's ons and other local information and interviews. The station plays a mix of music from the 90's to today including upbeat dance, funk, soul and RnB during normal daytime output. Hot radio also provides specialist programming evenings and weekends with local specialist DJs experienced within their music genre. The station also provides broadcasts from major local events. At 7:00am on 14 February 2012 "The Bay 102.8" re-branded to "Hot Radio 102.8". The last song played on The Bay 102.8 was "Never Can Say Goodbye" by The Communards. The first song on Hot Radio was "Some Like It Hot" by The Power Station when Paul Stevens announced the new brand to listeners. On 8 November 2013, Hot Radio was awarded a 5-year extension by ofcom to continue providing community radio to Poole & the surrounding area. On 8 November 2018, Hot Radio was awarded another 5-year extension by ofcom to continue providing community radio to Poole & the surrounding area. On 6 February 2018, Hot Radio relaunched with a brand new sound and line up. Hot Radio is also now available on DAB across Dorset. Since late 2020 it is also available on DAB across South Hampshire.
