Ipswich Grammar School Buildings

Ipswich Grammar School is an independent, non-denominational, day and boarding school for boys, located in Ipswich, a city situated on the Bremer River in South East Queensland, Australia. The school is sited on the eponymous Grammar School Hill, with its original buildings occupying the crown of the hill. Some of the Ipswich Grammar School Buildings are listed on the Queensland Heritage Register.Founded in 1863, Ipswich Grammar was the first secondary school established in the colony of Queensland under the Grammar Schools Act 1860, but a small number of other schools were already offering secondary education in Queensland. Today the school operates a P to 12 educational model, offering preparatory, primary and secondary education to approximately 1,080 students, including 105 boarders.Ipswich Grammar School is affiliated with the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA), the Junior School Heads Association of Australia (JSHAA), Independent Schools Queensland (AISQ), the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA), and is a founding member of the Great Public Schools Association of Queensland Inc. (GPS).

Baptist Church is a heritage-listed former Baptist church at 188 Brisbane Street, Ipswich, City of Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. It began as a simple gabled Gothic Revival building designed by Richard Gailey built in 1877, which was given an Art Deco makeover in 1938, designed by George Brockwell Gill. A memorial gate was added in 1954. In 2007 the site was sold, and the building converted for use as a performing arts space, known as Studio 188. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 4 July 2006.

The William Berry residence is a heritage-listed detached house at 1 Burnett Street, West Ipswich, City of Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. It was built c. 1874. It is also known as William Berry residence. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.

St Edmund's College (known colloquially as Eddies) is an independent Catholic secondary day school for boys', located in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. The school was founded by the Congregation of Christian Brothers in 1892 and is conducted in the tradition of Edmund Ignatius Rice. The school is a member of the Associated Independent Colleges of the Greater Brisbane region along with Marist College Ashgrove, Iona College, Padua College, Villanova College, St Patrick's College, St Laurence's College and St. Peters Lutheran College.St Edmund's College accepts students from Years 7 to 12, drawing from a wide area of Ipswich. The total enrolment of the school is projected to be approximately 1,500 students. At the beginning of 2025 the college will reintroduce years 5 and 6.The original St Edmunds Christian Brothers building is now used by St Mary's Primary School, still located on the corner of Mary & Elizabeth St, Woodend, besides the church. In fact, to this day the heritage listed gate at that stone wall still features the original St Edmunds initials CBC (Christian Brothers College).
