Penacook Lake

Abbott State Forest is a 35-acre (14 ha) protected area located in Concord, New Hampshire, on the west side of Lake View Drive. It is bordered to the east, across Lake View Drive, by Penacook Lake water supply land. Abbott State Forest was reported to be producing white spruce seed in 1982.

New Hampshire State Prison for Women is the only women's prison in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. The New Hampshire Department of Corrections facility is located in Concord. The new prison opened in 2018 after decades of legal battles concerning the services offered at the old Goffstown facility. It houses maximum, medium, and minimum security prisoners and overflow prisoners from the county prisons, which often lack appropriate facilities for women. Since 2008, the Saint Anselm College Knights of Columbus and a group of women from the prison have started a recycling program within the prison. In 2009, Saint Anselm's Knights of Columbus Council #4875 won the National Community Activity Award from the Supreme Council in Connecticut. To date, the Knights and the women have recycled over 2,000 pounds of recyclable material.

The New Hampshire State Prison for Men (NHSPM) is a New Hampshire Department of Corrections prison in Concord, New Hampshire, United States and is equipped to accept maximum, medium and minimum security prisoners. The prison, which was opened in 1878 to replace a previous prison constructed in 1812, is the oldest in New Hampshire Department of Corrections. It was expanded and renovated in the 1980s, and it houses maximum security male prisoners and has a 60-bed secure psychiatric unit and residential treatment unit. The New Hampshire Corrections Special School District operates a high school within this facility, which provides both a high school diploma or the GED. A full-time health services center including dental and long-term health care wing is operated within this facility and is capable of housing both male and female prisoners in need of long term, chronic, or terminal care. Nineteen wardens have run this facility since it opened in 1878.

Parker Academy is a private day school in Concord, New Hampshire, United States. Established in 2001, the school serves students in grades 6 through 12.

The Millville School is a historic school building at 2 Fisk Road, just off Hopkinton Road in western Concord, New Hampshire. Built in 1923, it is a prominent local work of New Hampshire native Chase R. Whitcher, and is Concord's only school in the Georgian Revival style. It is also the only surviving element of the historic village of Millville that is not part of the nearby St. Paul's School campus. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It now houses Parker Academy, a private day school.

The Blossom Hill and Calvary Cemeteries are a pair of adjacent municipally-owned cemeteries on North State Street in Concord, New Hampshire. Blossom Hill, a 19th-century cemetery designed in the then-fashionable rural cemetery tradition, was always a municipal cemetery; the Calvary Cemetery was established by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Manchester, whose oversight area includes all of New Hampshire. The Calvary Cemetery was taken over by the city in 1995; its earliest marked grave dates to 1857. The cemeteries were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Concord Hospital is a non-profit hospital located in the West End of Concord, New Hampshire. It is the principal site of the Concord Hospital regional health system which serves central New Hampshire, and is a teaching hospital affiliated with Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine, New Hampshire's only medical school.The hospital has "centers of excellence" in cardiac, cancer, orthopaedics, urology and women's health services, serving as a regional referral resource, and its level II Trauma Center designation certifies that the hospital has the resources to provide a level of care for patients with a wide range of injuries. Concord Hospital Medical Group, the administrating organization of Concord Hospital and affiliated institutions, consists of over 345 clinical providers in 28 sub-specialties at 35 locations.

Merrimack Valley is a four-year high school located in Penacook, a village in the northern part of Concord, New Hampshire. The school has approximately 900 students and serves the communities of Andover, Boscawen, Loudon, Penacook, Salisbury, and Webster. Two years of construction and remodeling were completed in 2007, resulting in a completely new facility. The school was initially accredited by the New England Association of School and Colleges (NEASC) in 1967. The faculty, staff, students, and community began self-study for reaccreditation in 2009; the next visiting team came in 2011. In 2003, the school was recognized by the New Hampshire Excellence in Education award (EDies) for being the best high school in the state of New Hampshire.

Contoocook River Amusement Park was a trolley park in Penacook, New Hampshire. The park was developed along the south bank of the Contoocook River. For twenty cents in 1893, and up until 1925, one could ride 7 miles (11 km) on the trolley from downtown Concord to Penacook to enjoy free entertainment, fireworks, swimming, dancing at a large pavilion, boating, roller-skating, bowling, and even a steamboat ride up the Contoocook River. The park closed in 1925. Electric Avenue, a dirt road that is part of the Concord Trail System, now leads through a wooded area where trolley car tracks once ran. Little trace of the park remains.

The Pleasant View Home is an historic senior citizen residential facility located at 227 Pleasant Street in Concord, New Hampshire, in the United States. On September 19, 1984, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.From 1892 to 1908, Mary Baker Eddy, an American religious leader, lived in a house at this location which was also called Pleasant View; but her home was torn down in 1917. There has sometimes been some confusion between the two buildings over the years since both were known as "Pleasant View".

Old North Cemetery is a historic cemetery on North State Street in Concord, New Hampshire. Established in 1730, it is the city's oldest cemetery. Franklin Pierce, fourteenth president of the United States, is buried in the cemetery, as are his wife Jane and two of his three sons. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on November 9, 2008. The cemetery continues to accept new burials.

White Park is a 25-acre (10 ha) public park on the west side of central Concord, New Hampshire. It occupies a roughly polygonal parcel of land surrounded by predominantly residential streets, with the University of New Hampshire School of Law located across White Street from the park's eastern corner. Its west side is characterized by a steep, rocky rise of about 40 feet (12 m) above an otherwise relatively flat landscape. The park's major features include a large man-made pond, and there are active recreational facilities, including basketball and handball courts, and a baseball diamond. The traditional main gate is located at the junction of Washington and Centre streets, with a wall section that includes a built-in structure originally used as a covered shelter for a streetcar stop. The pond is transformed into an outdoor skating rink in winter. The park is also home to the city's largest playground, called the Monkey Around Playground. The park was established by a donation from Armenia White, a local philanthropist, and designed by Charles Eliot. Most of its basic landscaping, including the construction of two ponds, was completed in the 1890s. A number of the plantings lining the park's Washington Street boundary date to the initial period of development, and include several specimen trees and shrubs. The park's recreational facilities were expanded in the 1930s with funding from the Works Progress Administration, at which time the smaller of the two ponds was filled in, and replaced by a swimming pool. The park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
