Battle of Colorno

Colorno (Parmigiano: Colórni) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Parma, within the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. It is located about 90 kilometres (56 mi) northwest of Bologna and approximately 15 kilometres (9 mi) north of Parma. Colorno borders the following municipalities: Casalmaggiore, Gussola, Martignana di Po, Mezzani, Sissa Trecasali, and Torrile.

The Ducal Palace, also known as Reggia di Colorno, is an edifice in the territory of Colorno (province of Parma), Emilia Romagna, Italy. The palace we see today was refurbished by Francesco Farnese, Duke of Parma in the early 18th century on the remains of a former castle.

Sorbolo borders the following municipalities: Brescello, Gattatico, Mezzani, Parma.

Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi, previously known as Stadio XXV Aprile, is a sports stadium dedicated to rugby union, located in the city of Parma in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. It replaced the original Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi which was demolished in July 2008. It is a 5,000 seat arena which hosts Crociati Parma Rugby FC and Gran Parma Rugby rugby union teams. It also hosts the Parma Panthers American football team. In 2012 it also became the home stadium of the Zebre Parma franchise which replaced Aironi in the Pro12 league and Heineken Cup.In January 2015, the Stadio XXV Aprile was renamed as the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi, the previous stadium of that name having been demolished.

The Galleria degli Antichi and the Palazzo del Giardino are adjacent, contemporaneous, Renaissance-style buildings located on Piazza d`Armi #1 in Sabbioneta, in the Province of Mantua, region of Lombardy, Italy. Prior to 1797, the buildings were connected to the Rocca or Castle of Sabbioneta (razed by Napoleon's forces during the Siege of Mantua), and the gallery once housed the Gonzaga collection of antique Roman statuary and hunting trophies. While the architectural design of the gallery is striking, the richness of the interior decoration of the palazzo is also dazzling.

The Teatro all'Antica ("Theater in the style of the ancients") is a theatre in Sabbioneta, northern Italy; it was the first free-standing, purpose-built theater in the modern world. The Teatro all'Antica is the second-oldest surviving indoor theater in the world (after the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza), and is, along with that theater and the Teatro Farnese in Parma, one of only three Renaissance theaters still in existence.

Beata Vergine Incoronata, or church of the Incoronata, is a renaissance-style, Roman Catholic church located in the town center of Sabbioneta, province of Mantua, region of Lombardy, Italy.

Sabbioneta (Casalasco-Viadanese: Subiunèda) is a town and comune in the province of Mantua, Lombardy region, Northern Italy. It is situated about 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of Parma, not far from the northern bank of the Po River. It is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia ("The most beautiful villages of Italy"). It was inscribed in the World Heritage List in 2008.

The Certosa di Parma (Certosa di San Girolamo) is a former Carthusian Monastery located in the outskirts of Parma. The first Carthusian monastery at the site was constructed from 1285 to 1304, by the initiative of the archbishop of Spoleto, Rolando Taverna. Little, if any, remains of that structure, the minor cloister dates from the 15th century. At the site between 1673 and 1722, a new Baroque monastery, cloister and church were built based on designs by Francesco Pescaroli. In 1769, the monastery was suppressed and the site became used for manufacture of cigars, and became the "Fabbrica Ducale dei Tabacchi di Parma". In 1900, it became a reformatory for juvenile offenders. In 1975, it acquired its present function as a school for prison police (Scuola di Formazione e Aggiornamento della Polizia Penitenziaria). The church, dedicated to St. Jerome, has works and frescoes by Francesco Pescaroli, Alessandro Baratta, Gian Battista Natali, and Ilario Spolverini. The monastery was suppressed at the time when Stendhal's novel The Charterhouse of Parma was written.
