Neapoli (Greek: Νεάπολη pronounced [neˈa.po.li]) is a neighborhood of Athens, Greece. It is located on the northern slope of Mount Lycabettus. Neapoli means 'new city.' The name originally comes from the fact that it was a new area of Athens built beyond Praxitelous and Evripidou streets during the decades when the city was starting to become urbanised. Eventually, the name Neapoli came to refer to only the eastern side, while the western side became known as Metaxourgeio. Neapoli was built in the mid 19th century by constructors, plasterers and marble constructors who came in Athens searching for a better life. The land there was then outside the zoning area and consequently cheaper. The area is well known for book publishing and some of the oldest bookstores of Athens are found there.

Strefi Hill (Greek: Λόφος Στρέφη) is a limestone hill and urban natural park in the Greek capital of Athens. It is located on the border of Neapoli neighborhood and Exarcheia, northwest of mount Lykavittos. Its earliest name was Aghesmos (Greek: Αγχεσμός). It is approximately 150 meters above sea level. In the 19th and early 20th century, it belonged to the Strefis family, which operated a stone quarry there until the 1920s. After the quarry was closed and trees were planted, the area was opened to the public in 1938, making it a popular destination for outings. In 1963, the Strefis donated the hill to the city of Athens. Strefi Hill offers lush vegetation, winding paths, and terraces with views of the Acropolis, the city, and Lykavittos. On the hill there is a small open-air theater, a basketball court, a playground, and a cafeteria.

The Supreme Civil and Criminal Court of Greece (Greek: Άρειος Πάγος, Areopagus) is the supreme court of Greece for civil and criminal law. In Greece, the decisions of the Supreme Court are final. However, since Greece is a member state of the Council of Europe, cases ruled on by the Greek high court can be appealed to the European Court of Human Rights. If the Supreme Court decides that a lower court violated the law or principles of legal process, it can order the rehearing of a case by the lower court. The court consists of the president and the attorney-general, ten vice-presidents, sixty five areopagites and seventeen deputy attorneys-general. The members of the Supreme Court are tenured until they reach the mandatory retirement age of 67, as mandated by the Greek constitution.

Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium (Greek: Γήπεδο Απόστολος Νικολαΐδης), commonly known as Leoforos Alexandras Stadium or Leoforos Stadium, is a football stadium and multi-sport center in Athens, Greece. It was inaugurated in 1922 and is the oldest football stadium in Greece currently active. It is the traditional athletic center of Panathinaikos A.C. and has been the home ground of Panathinaikos FC for the most part of the club's existence. The stadium is named after the historic club's president, official and athlete Apostolos Nikolaidis. It is situated in the Ambelokipi district of Athens, east of the Lycabettus Hill and on Alexandras Avenue 160, by which name it is most commonly known (Leoforos Alexandras or simply Leoforos, Leoforos meaning Avenue). The stadium's record attendance was recorded in 1967, when 29,665 spectators watched the Cup Winners Cup game between Panathinaikos and FC Bayern Munich. It also houses several other facilities under its stands, including an indoor hall, a small swimming pool, a boxing ring, an indoor shooting range, the club's offices as well as various other facilities.

The Lycabettus Funicular is a funicular railway to the top of Mount Lycabettus in the Greek capital city of Athens. It was constructed in the 1960s by the Greek Tourist Organisation (EOT) and was inaugurated on April 18, 1965. The terminal stations are situated at Aristippou street, in Kolonaki, and the Chapel of St. George, near the top of the hill. Between the terminal stations, the line is entirely in tunnel. In 2002 extensive refurbishment was carried out, involving replacement of the motor, of the hydraulic brake unit, of the electronics safety systems, of the control room and of the two cars of the funicular. The railway now runs daily services, with a capacity of about 400 persons per hour.

The Hellenic Military Geographical Service or HMGS (Greek: Γεωγραφική Υπηρεσία Στρατού or Γ.Υ.Σ.), is the Hellenic Military's mapping agency.

The Athens Naval Hospital (Greek: Ναυτικό Νοσοκομείο Αθήνων, ΝΝΑ) is the largest Navy hospital in Greece. It is situated at the foothill of Lycabettus Hill, at Dinokratous 70 in Central Athens. Construction started in 1948, but it became operational in 1955, and was renovated and enlarged in 1995.

The Pedion tou Areos or Pedion Areos (Greek: Πεδίον του Άρεως or Πεδίον Άρεως, pronounced [peˈðion tu ˈareos], meaning Field of Ares, corresponding to the French Champ de Mars and the ancient Campus Martius) is one of the largest public parks in Athens, Greece. It is also the name of the wider neighborhood.

The Gennadius Library (Greek: Γεννάδειος Βιβλιοθήκη), also known as the Gennadeion, is one of the most important libraries in Greece, with over 110,000 volumes on Greek history, literature and art from Antiquity until modern times. The library is located at Souidias Street 61, on the slopes of Mount Lycabettus, in central Athens. The library is one of the two belonging to the American School of Classical Studies at Athens (along with the Blegen Library).

The American School of Classical Studies at Athens (ASCSA; Greek: Αμερικανική Σχολή Κλασικών Σπουδών στην Αθήνα) is one of 19 foreign archaeological institutes in Athens, Greece. It is a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC). CAORC is a private not-for-profit federation of independent overseas research centers that promote advanced research, particularly in the humanities and social sciences, with focus on the conservation and recording of cultural heritage and the understanding and interpretation of modern societies.

Upper Ancyle or Ankyle Kathyperthen (Ancient Greek: Ἀγκυλή καθύπερθεν) was the name of a deme of ancient Attica. It was located east of Athens and bordering Agryle to the south. Upper Ancyle passed from the phyle Aigeis to Antigonis in 307/306 BCE; Lower Ancyle remained in the Aigeis phyle.In the 3rd century, in Roman times, the demoi were home to rich landed properties. Their name derives from the Greek name for "javelin" (which was thrown with a rope). The same root also appears in an epithet attributed to Cronus and to Prometheus, "of sharp wits". The site of Lower Ancyle is located northeast of modern Ardettos.

The Attica General Police Directorate (Greek: Γενική Αστυνομική Διεύθυνση Αττικής, commonly used in the abbreviation ΓΑΔΑ, GADA) is an administrative unit of the Hellenic Police. Its headquarters are in Athens. It has been described as Athens' equivalent of Scotland Yard. In 2012, activists protesting against the Golden Dawn party alleged that they were tortured at its headquarters.
